December is around the corner and everyone is busy planning towards it. Everyone wants to buy clothes, shoes, necklaces, wristwatches, Christmas lights and on the 25th which is Christmas, many want to buy turkey or chicken and fry and eat with spicy jollof rice. All these listed has caused many worries in many peoples lives and has caused them to do what they are not supposed to do.
It is good when we have what to eat, clothes to wear, money to buy what we want during Christmas, they are very good and sweet when we have them but the question is what if we don't have them what should we do? Should we start crying cos we don't have them or should we start to worry about them and from the worry, we think of something weird and do it and in the end, we regret doing it, Is this what we should do?
I read my friend article @Jerrysavage00 around last week about "Take no thought" and from his article, he mentioned how we can overcome the thought of " worry", here is the link to the article, you can as well read it. I was in church this evening when our pastor was saying the same thing and I had to share it too. Many things worry can cause to us emotionally and physically but we don't know and we might know but chose to ignore the harmful effect. One thing about this worry of a thing is that "it never changes the present situation of what we are worried about", so why the worry then if there is no change in the situation.
The Bible has explained to us in
Matthew chp 6 vs 26: Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?...... King James version
If God can cater for the fowl of the air, how much more we that he created in his image, won't he do much more for us? He is our father and of course, must surely provide for us but we have lost that position because of our worry.
Matthew 6 vs 25 says Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?.... King James version
Our life is more precious than that chicken and rice and our body is far precious than those clothes you called beautiful clothes. Worry causes many like;
High blood pressure
Stomach problems, etcetera
How do we now overcome the issue of " worry ", the Bible makes us understand that the only major way to overcome this is listed below;
Pleading and prayer: we need to cast all our burden on him cos he is the only one that can answer us. Our pleading and prayer will go a long way because it is through this medium that we can tell God all our worries and our heart desires. It is through prayer that we can pour our long time heart panting to God and will faith we believe that he will answer us.
Meditating on God words: one of the ways we can hear from God is through his words. It is when we meditate on his words that we will understand that there's nothing to worry about when God is on our side.
Listen to soul-lifting songs: when I say soul-lifting songs I mean gospel music that will allow you to forget your worries by dancing away your sorrow, singing away all negatives words. This kind of music connect you with heaven and from there you realize how mighty God is and also make you see a reason not to worry.
Associate with Godly brethren: these people are those that you can run to and share your thoughts whenever you are faced with worries and they will admonish you in God words and direct you back to God.
I hope these steps help you to conquer worry and allow you to see God in all situations. Do not worry about anything, always believe God can do it and he will surely do it.
