In this article, I'll be writing on Taking NO Thought.
Take no thought is a statement that mean 'do not worry'.
Worry is something every human being cannot do without. Whether you like it or not, there's tendency for you to worry because of our nature as human beings. As long as your brain is active and you know you have a future which is in a kind of sense uncertain, you'll always want to worry if not, fall victim of worrying.
Everyone likes to have everything all figured out. We like to get definite results to actions.
Thought is something that occurs in the heart.
If you look at the word 'take no thought' very well, 'thought' here can act as a noun and as a verb. Thought here can be seen to be an occurrence or process in the heart. Also thought can be seen as the subject of that occurrence or process.
To take no thought is a conscious activity that must be intentionally mastered over time.
Life as it is, is full of hurdles, bumps, heartbreak, pain, disappointment, as many as you can mention. Regardless of your background or the privileges around your life. When I say privileges, I mean being born with a silver spoon, being a citizen of a country with a good government and so on, everyone has faced hurdles in one way or the other on this journey of life, and this hurdle has caused the person to worry at one point or the other. No one can particularly say that he/she has not been faced with the issue of worrying.
Take no thought is a phrase gotten from the bible. It was said by Jesus after a series of teachings in Matthew chapter 6. He said 'Take no thought for tomorrow, for tomorrow shall take care of itself'.
Everyone likes to have everything planned and figured out. We love to plan for the next day, month, year and years. We all have goals and also wish to achieve them. We all have things we wish for, and this applies to both the hardworking fellow and the lazy fellow. Fortunately and unfortunately, life doesn't always happen the way we wish or plan it to happen. Opportunities sometimes called luck don't come or happen for everybody, sometimes opportunities show up when there's no resources to fund them and it vice versa.
Worry keeps us in a state of anxiety. Being always anxious of what the next minute, hour, day, week, month, day, or year will bring. Worry cuts across all ages from young to the old, rich to the poor, every person living is affected by this worry thing.
When you take up a thought, that thought can become a cage, let me make understand, that thought cages you up, that is it keeps you thinking about that thought, you forget all other things and focus on that thought. So if you're worried something which will occur next month, you'll perpetually be in the cage till the next month. And if it happens to be that it is for the next 5 years, you'll continually be aslave of that thought till the 5 years elapses.
Life is very unpredictable, there are situations you can't determine or change. When things like that come, you face them. The future is very uncertain, so why worrying.
I'll cite what Jesus said now. He asked the people He was teaching if they could add to their stature by worrying or whether they could add to the hairs on the head by worrying.
Worrying does no good to you. It only keeps you caged, it affects your emotional health and your productivity because you won't be able to focus om the right things and do them effectively. For you to take no thought that is do not worry. There's a provision for that which is called being at rest. There's something called rest, and this rest comes by knowledge. The knowledge of what to do to enter into that rest.
I'll be listing out the things to do to enter rest
1. Pray: Sometimes we underestimate the power of prayer and this is because of our nature as humans. We all like to solve our problems ourselves whereas there are some problems you can't solve, if you could solve all problems, there would be no God.
Whenever any thought that wants to lead to worry enters our heart, the first thing should come to you is to quickly say a word of prayer to God concerning the issue, it doesn't have to be a long a prayer, just two sentences is enough to get to God. By praying, you're are casting the thoughts to God and shifting your focus on Him, relying on Him to handle the issues which He has never failed at.
I'll want to you know that sometimes it doesn't look like God heard you, just believe that He has heard because Faith is the step on your journey to God.
Also God is in a reality that isn't bound by time.
2. Read and meditating on the word of God
By reading the word of God, you'll find His promises, covenant, stories of people which has walked on the earth and God never failed. If you don't read, you'll never know.
By meditating, I mean staying on the word, staying on the promises of God till it crystallizes on your soul, because when thought comes it stays in your soul, but when you meditate on the word of God, you soul is being conditioned to comprehend, understand and assimilate the promises of God till it becomes your reality. The more you read the word, the more you enter rest
3. Count your blessings and thank God
Most times we forget every other good thing God has done in past times.
The next thing to do after meditating is sit and remember those times God had come through for you, the times He had shown for you.
Then you thank God for the things He has done and the things you want Him to do.
So, make sure you don't worry.

Instead of worrying, we can actually turn it into praising God and meditating on the word of God. We can eventually find God's promises while doing that. Do not worry about tomorrow but believe things would be fine and be at peace with yourself.
