Attitude is everything

My uncle once shared his story about his life and he started this way
He didn't like the way things seemed to be going some years ago, very early in his career, and at some point he decided to be methodical and seize control of his destiny by establishing a life plan, which he was recommended to do, and he subsequently came up with a 15-year schedule.
He wasn't happy three years into the plan, but he was able to highlight the knowledge and skills he considered necessary to get closer to his aspirations and he was actively working on them. During the three years, he was also able to pinpoint habits he needed to break and new ones he needed to inculcate in order to succeed, but after all of this, it appears that something was still letting him down because he had everything he needed to achieve his goals, but they still appeared impossibly far away What makes you believe that?
To cut a long story short, he established it was his attitude that was restricting his capabilities to see and exploit the opportunities, as well as preventing him from fostering new habits that would help him in the long run. Once he realized it was his attitude, he decided to change it, and everything improved over time.
In today's work place, that attitude and not skill, is the top predictor of higher success or failure and it's common now that when company is hiring and everyone has the skills and for them to pick amongst them, they go for attitude. when hiring people with the right attitude, the employer would readily be able to reduce his new turnover rate, putting attitude first doesn't mean technical and skill doesn't matter. skill are still important prerequisite to new hired person to do his job well and cope with the demands of the job, however skill can be assessed through technical test and viewing candidate portfolio and if the candidate lack one or two sub skills, he/she can learn it after joining the company as long as he/she has the right attitude.
A personal method was used by apostle Paul to his protegee Timothy, he encourages and gives him a solid charge in.... 2timothy 2vs 2; And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others...... Apostle Paul cautioned Timothy not to be tempted to consider ability ahead of attitude.
Attitude refers to the conscious state of feeling towards something or someone else, and words like feeling, temperament, viewpoints, sentiment, attitude to life, perspective, and frame of mind are sometimes used to describe it. Someone may have all of the qualifications for a job, but if their personality clashes with the company values, they are unlikely to be the ideal candidate for the job. Everyone has an attitude, and a person's behavior is the expression of that attitude.
What does this mean for us as Christians at work? Why should our God-given abilities control what we are able to do, while our attitude controls what we do and how we do it? God's word offers not only manuals on how to adopt the correct attitude, but also prompts to give us the strength to do so. According to the Bible, we should always have Christ's attitude toward life and other people.
Good attitude as defined by the scriptures are called fruit of the spirit and are listed in Galatians 5 vs 22-23. if we call ourselves christians and we don't exhibit such characteristics, we are not spiritual but merely religious. A genuine Christ follower should not just be hired but best hired in any company because of our attitude.
Equip and feed your attitude and dwell on positive things, if you dwell on the negative your attitude will reflect the same. Philippians 4:8; Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.
Finally remember this: who you're becoming is more important than what you do
