The image above is the total transaction history of my read.cash wallet for 10 months. It's unbelievable to see that I have earned this much for playing around with my thoughts since I created this account. What started as a hubby gradually become a hustle that will keep me here for 10 months and still counting. It wasn't for the money that kept me but for the reception I received from the community, and a new way of thinking that I have come to discover in the Bitcoin cash community. A new way of thinking about money and a new currency that makes those thoughts a reality. It was my first time knowing anything about cryptocurrencies and their usefulness and why BCH. And I reckon that the only way for me to know more about this new money and to be a part of it is to be fully involved by writing out my heart. It's been a wonderful journey so far, but how did I get this far?
Actually, this isn't my first account, I lost the former due to inexperience after 3 months of creating it. Record of that account I can't recover since I don't have access to it. I am not the type who loves to talk about earnings or brag about my success. So, this write-up intends to trigger commitment and perseverance from those who felt marginalized and inadequate to succeed as a writer. I have seen lots of users posting what they earned here every month. That's unlike me, but since it is a year now that I have been writing here I feel compelled to write about my journey, not in the sense of promoting the amount of BCH I have earned.
I realized It's a good thing to take a record of your success in what you are doing. So shortly after I noticed it's been a year I have been here, I wondered “How much did I earn from writing on read.cash this year?”
Not because I wanted to brag or something like that, but because looking at where your writing income is coming from and those who supported you to get thus far is a very important exercise. And also to learn about how to improve my writing skills for the next year. I want you to do this evaluation for yourself too, it will help you to make improvements and better use of your time and earn more as well.
I have seen writers becoming a six-gun by writing here, this got me motivated more because I felt I didn't start early enough, and that pissed me off. I am self-competitive, I like to know more and discover new things and new ideas.
20 BCH in 10 months is not a small thing, and I know you may be thinking how much do I now have in my private wallet. That's not within the context of this article. I do hold a good amount of BCH in my private wallet, some I invested, and of course, some more I spent, that's what BCH is meant for. But how do I come this far? Let's dive in.
The search engine works
Covid-19 lockdown helps a lot of people to discover talents and skills that were buried inside of them and I was not different. Though I had a passion for writing coming to the period of the covid-19 lockdown, it was only occasionally I posted on Facebook pages, groups, or forums. My subject of writing then was mostly on my religious faith and marriage talk. I like it when people engaged with my content and connect with me. But something happens that makes me turn to the search engine. My organization leader saw my post on Facebook and the engagement it gathers and asked me to stop the publicity because I wasn't promoting my organization but myself. And that was how I turned to the search engine for a social media platform that encourages engagement on posts and read.cash turned out to be my pick.
My entry to read.cash
My entrance to read.cash was filled with fun and discoveries. The dialogue guiding registration was all fun to me. This was where I knew about a crypto wallet for the first time. Going into the platform, I need to understand how the site works which I did by reading every relevant article I could see on the home page. Unlike most people who just jumped in and started posting articles thinking they will earn rewards immediately, I took my time to read and follow others to know more about the site and how I should conduct myself. I understand the importance of an introductory article and that's how I started. A good introduction is needed to start a writing journey on a platform like this. My introduction article got me a good number of followers, some of them are still active and supporting me today.
The test of courage and patience
My first published article on read.cash only earned me 27 cents and that was because I got a tip from my very first subscriber @Telesfor. I didn't have much following but I wasn't desperate, and by the end of the first month, I earned a total of $3.58 in as many articles I published in that month. The point system was what we have then, and you only get 20 points per article published. 400 points were equal to a dollar then. This got many people desperate for more subscribers because each vote gives 3 points. Some went as far as buying subscribers then, I never did anything like that but wrote against it. The highest points I could get on a good day was 130, which usually takes me 3 to 4 days to get a dollar. I could easily give up this time because earning $10 a month doesn't worth the time.
I was only writing about marriage, and I didn't dare to write about other subjects then. I knew I didn't know most of the subjects that were trending on the site. So, I have to learn, read and research popular subjects such as cryptocurrencies and BCH. With the knowledge, I gained from reading and researching l got the courage to write about cryptocurrencies and BCH. I enrolled in an online cryptocurrency school to know more about blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. I didn't want to remain a novice in the Bitcoin cash community.
The frustration and thought to give up.
Yeah, the journey was not that easy, there were a lot of moments of frustrations that would make you think of giving up. So many times my account got suspended from earning points for a period of two to three weeks for reasons that are best known to the site admin then. It was really frustrating to see that no matter what you do you don't earn any point. I feel like giving up during this time of circumstances. And I did give up. I wrote a goodbye article to my followers.
However, why I thought I have forgotten about read.cash, read.cash didn't forget me. After about a month or so, I opened my account and noticed that while I was away I was being paid. This encouraged me to come back and start from where I stopped.
Then comes the random rewarder
The concept of the random rewarder was a bit confusing in the beginning but later became the game changer for me. The first article I published just after the random rewarder took control of the site earned me a whopping $10.56, that was much for me to get in a single article when I hardly get up to $40 a month. From then on I will continue to earn between $5 to $8 for an article.
I made a commitment to at least publish one article a day no matter how busy I may be, and I have kept that commitment to today. It's really good to keep adding new content every day as long as you are getting the ideas. You don't know which of those contents might get you the breakout you have been looking for.
2021 my breakthrough year on read.cash
I have written in one of my articles that read.cash works like a kind of loyalty reward platform, and the need to keep adding content committedly and persistently even if you do not get rewarded immediately because you do know when your lucky day may come. Yeah, there are lucky days here. Anyone can get lucky to get a huge tip. January was the first I got my lucky day. Precisely, my third article this year got tipped by a stranger with the username @Test123 the sum of $20 BCH. That was huge, the first I could get such an amount of BCH tip.
Then, as if fortune has decided to stay with me in February @MarcDeMesel tipped two of my old articles with the sum of $320 BCH, nearly 1 BCH. As of February this year BCH was only around $395 to $420. Again in March, Marc tipped me again of $20 BCH.
In April, the random rewarder becomes my best friend giving me a whopping sum of $450 BCH in one month plus tipping from others. This is the highest I have ever earned in a month, and I believe the coming months will be good also.
The bottom line
Without persistence and commitment, there's no way I would have gone this far. I knew of guys that started here together with me at the same time, they didn't survive the first two months. But when I show them my success story they couldn't believe it. Patience, courage, perseverance, and commitment are what kept me going on to today.
I must be honest with you, without the support of others in the Bitcoin cash community, I wouldn't achieve anything meaningful. Some individuals have been supportive to me from the very beginning and are still here today. I will forever be grateful to every one of you that has supported me with your votes.
I remain indebted to these people,
You guys were wonderful, I owe you much gratitude.
And to everyone in the Bitcoin cash community thank you all for being here for all of us.
That's a huge achievement. Im motivated rightt now.
