Spelled sprouts: a healthy diet and medicine

Spelled or large grain (lat. Triticum spelta) is the closest relative of today's wheat, but with a far better and healthier effect on our body than all assortments of "modern" wheat.

It is noted in the documents that this cereal is 9000 years old and it can be freely said that due to its low yield, it is not interesting for genetic modification and because of the specifics of further processing it is considered "non-profit". In ancient Rome, spelled was given to the army during long marches as well as to racehorses as high-energy food. Spelled seeds have a thicker bark than common wheat and are thus far more resistant to colder weather conditions, as well as a far lower possibility of grain contamination with pesticides and other aero factors. It thrives better in colder climates and today it is mostly grown in Germany, Finland, Belgium and Switzerland, which also justifies the higher price compared to other cereals.

Spelled is a "soft grain" cereal, warm (it is best to consume it in winter and spring), and compared to modern types of wheat, spelled is with a significantly lower percentage of gluten!

What can we do with this wonderful grain and how does it affect our organism?

1) Germination of grains: in this process we get spelled sprouts, later spelled grass. Spelled sprouts can be used as an addition to salads, sandwiches, soups, stews, etc. "Energy bomb" and the effect of this drink is equal to the transfusion of blood plasma!

2) From spelled flour we get excellent bread, pastries and cakes, here I advise you not to "run away" from fresh yeast because fresh yeast evaporates during baking and in baked products remains in traces and spelled flour does not have "modified" gluten for which tied up and became dangerous!

3) You can prepare porridge from spelled semolina, with the addition of honey, fresh and dried fruit, nuts, for gourmets with the addition of cheese, cream or sour milk, an exquisite breakfast meal.

4) By combining with other cereals or sprouts of other cereals, you can create your bravado to infinity, all to adapt to your time and needs. You can use it as a base for salty and sweet dishes (boiled beans), as risotto, moussaka, salads, desserts…

Spelled is rich in nutrients, amino acids, the body recognizes them, they quickly enter the bloodstream and do not burden the digestive tract. It raises immunity (spelled is an aid in Germany for the most severe immune diseases, has an exceptional effect on the nervous and skeletal system, has been studied in patients with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.) and helps cell renewal, even in people over 65 years.

It is exceptional for the intestinal and digestive tract. It is a cleanser and guardian of the liver and pancreas, it helps with all digestive disorders and the consequences that arise.

Spelta should be in our diet and our children's diet at least once a day.

Recipe for spelled sprout crackers:

Necessary groceries:

- 250 g of sprouted spelled grains,

- 260 g of white corn flour,

- 200 g of flax seeds and peeled sunflower

- 150 ml of olive oil,

- 300 ml of boiling water

- 5 g of turmeric,

- 5 g of salt or more to taste.

(you can also add dry spices oregano, basil, cumin, chili, of your choice)

Procedure: First wash the sprouts, and then place the sprouts on a paper towel to drain off excess water. After that, grind the sprouts. Mix ground sprouts, corn flour, flaxseed and sunflower. Add salt and other dry spices if desired! Add oil and boiled water to this mixture. Stir and add turmeric. Divide the obtained dough, and cut as desired. Preheat oven to 170 degrees. Bake the crackers in the oven on baking paper. After 10 minutes, reduce the temperature to 100 degrees, and bake until they turn brown.
