Teardrops on my Mirror
Another day has passed. You did your best today. Even you could not help but think of different things, you still pushed through and made this day count. Now, you washed your face, brushed your teeth, and prepared to sleep. Then, you looked at the mirror.
***Your eyes could not miss every single dark spot you could see.*** The wrinkles that are not that visible, and your double chin. Your assymetrical face, your undefined jawline, messy eyebrows, unflattering nose shape, and dry lips. *Every feature of your face did not miss any judgment. You stared at the mirror, and the frown never left your face.* ***You see your figure's reflection.*** You feel that people are lying when they said you have normal body proportions. Because you only see how your arms gained fats. Or your hiding collar bone. You also look at your belly fats, your dip hips, and fat legs. *You are almost tearing up within fifteen minutes.* And then you take notice of your scars that made your skin uglier. Your skin tone is uneven, and you even have some rashes. ***You did your best, but you still don't feel satisfied with your appearance.*** You exercise, you use lotion, you take care of your body well, decreased your food intake, and restricted yourself of other fun things. *But you still look.. not enough.* *You don't notice how your eyes sparkle with glow. Your long eye lashes that catches their attention when you blink. You don't notice how your face is free of tons of acne scars. You have a beautiful face shape that suits any hairstyle. Your double chin looks cute. You have a healthy weight. You are tall. You have a thick legs that others want. Your tan skin is also appealing. Your posture is looked up on.* ***You forget your friends and family who compliment you because you only remember the times you were criticized. No, most of the times, it's you who find faults in yourself. You point out your flaws. You create your own insecurities.*** The truth is, you are beautiful just the way you are. You have a beautiful smile. You are sexy. Do you know that supermodel Belle Hadid has dip hips? That other models also have cellulites on their skin? Oh, wait.. you must've forgotten too, when someone told you that you are a reliable friend. A good listener. That your laughter is contagious. How loving you are as a person, thinking of others first before yourself. Do you remember the time your friend told you that you are strong and that she looks up to you? Or those random letters that says you are intelligent; more than ten people said that. You have an amazing skin. You have a beautiful, healthy body. Your face shape is ideal, and not worth being insecure for. Your hair is naturally beautiful. You have amazing body proportions, own that. If you'd still look at the mirror and frown again, or cry, remember what I've said. You are the most beautiful when you are healthy. When you are confident. When you learn to accept and love yourself, not minding this society's shtty beauty standards. The truth is, every single person in this world *had/has* his/her own insecurities. They just have their own way of hiding it, but just like you, there are moments they break down whenever they see themselves in the mirror. ***We all had these moments where we wished we are someone else.*** Or wishing we have what others have. A slim body, or a smooth skin. Long legs, or nice height. Tall nose, or nice lips. You may not have those features, but the thing is, you are still beautiful. Now, look at the mirror and thank your eyes for making it possible for you to see the beauty of this world. Your nose, for letting you smell different scents, and so on. *Every body part of yours is working hard everyday, just so you can function fully. Thank them. Appreciate them.* There is no such thing as perfect body. Or flawless face. *Social media is full of lies.* Don't believe that one celebrity or influencer you envy. Photo editing exists, and so are filters. Even those celebrities have scars, fats, they get acnes too. ***Let me remind you once again: We are all humans.*** Until you learn to love yourself fully, embrace your flaws, and be more confident, you'll remain ugly. You'll remain unsatisfied of how you look. Tell you what, it's possible, darling. To stare at the mirror and smile, and say *"Who's that beautiful person staring straight back at me?"* Darling, you can! It's possible. A day may come where you won't consider your insecurities as such. That is, if you work on it. Let's all work on it. You are not alone.
Oh, a beautiful face is reading it right now. Beautiful is not only limited to describe a woman, okay? If you're a man and you're reading this, guess what? You are beautiful, too. I know that beauty comes from the inside. How good you are as a person beyond your looks, it all reflects on your appearance. If you think you are beautiful, you really will look beautiful. We are not talking nor encouraging narcissism nor excessive self-love here, but the kind of self-love that heals. It's when you understand your worth, how beautiful you are. I am saying this, yet I am still in the process of loving myself. It is a lifetime process. I believe that even a very confident person also had at least one moment where he/she felt insecure. We all had/have our own sets of insecurities on our physical attributes. Actually, plastic surgery or beauty treatments won't exist if we don't have insecurities. I mean, the nose lift, use of lip fillers, botox, like what famous celebrities do. Right now, I am still in the process too. Just recently, I had to stare at my scars, and other features of me that I consider my *"flaws",* and I still felt sad. It's hard. It hurt. That's a brief history of why I wrote this article. I felt better writing this, I hope you too. ***There are days I'm so focused with how I dislike my outward appearance that I forget how inner beauty matters a hundred percent more. We have spent lots of times in our lives trying to look and feel beautiful as to how the naked eyes would see us, that we forget to appreciate our uniqueness, and our abilities.*** You are precious. You are worth it. You are a gem. You are beautiful. You are one in almost eight billion.

When you got a quality writer, you can get a beautiful article like this. Reflecting human nature based on their thoughts. Well written dear.
It made me smile reading this. Thanks for the words. :))
We are all beautiful. We have beauty to represent who we are.
Right!
Aww Michelle, thank you for this! I feel so beautiful now and I don't need to check the mirror :) Very creatively written, sis!
Thank you for reading! Ahihihii :))
we all have flaws, you are not alone, we all feel insecure...
Yes, definitely. That's a fact!
This is just beyond beautiful Elle. Thanks for reminding us that we need to be proud of ourselves and to love ourselves. We are truly beautiful. 💗
Aww, that's so sweet. You are truly beautiful! ❤️
It is a must to love ourselves in the first place. If we don't how can we love others? In order to be able to love ourselves we have to accept ourselves as we are. Don't even think about altering anything. People do it, but it means they are not satisfied with their ceratin body parts or their partner is not satisfied with it. Not a good way of thinking.
I love when you said we can't love otgers if we don't love ourselves. Thank you so much.
You are welcome Elle.
An inspiring article. If we reveal our inner beauty instead of visuality and become aware of it, we become people at peace with ourselves.
Yes, because outside still roots from the inside.
We are all perfect in one way or another. Nobody has to feel that they are not sufficiently handsome because true beauty is carried on the inside. An intelligent, simple, honest and cultured person is beautiful by nature.
Oh, thanks for this one. You are indeed right. :)
Each line of expression on our face is not so bad, it is a sign that we smile, we get angry and we smile again because that is life and that is how it makes its mark on us, we just have to enjoy it healthily smile and continue
Yes, wrinkles are signs that we smile and laugh a lot..
Hey Mich, this is so nice. You are beautiful, my dear. What an inspiring reading!
Awww, thank you so much, Coqui Coin! ♥️
I ain't gonna lie. I came here looking for a Taylor reference, and now I am leaving this page feeling beautiful and in love with myself. LOL
LOL, nagstart sa session ko ng paglalait sa sarili ko, then I wrote this one, tapos I thought of a title with the word mirror, I was reminded of Taylor's song (a fave of mine) so yaaan.. Tadaa!! You're beautiful naman talaga. Love yourself!
Hahaha nice!! Taylor all the way lol. awww. Thanks love. SO are you. Flaunt it. :)
Definitely. Everyone is beautiful. But what do you mean by dip hips?
Dip hips are indentions sa hip area, parang nakapaloob yung area sa balakang, instead na nakacurve palabas, thus preventing hourglass figure. Search mo sa google yung mga images. They look weird, but they are normal, it's just how some people's bodies are built.
Ganun? Parang di naman halata kay Gigi Hadid no
Dahil siguro sa work out, pero di yon maitatago fully. Mas evident yata sa ate nya, kay Bella..
Ganun ba?
Now I ain't really sure about Gigi LOL. Si belle for sure meron sya. Let me look for Gigi's, I might have the wrong Hadid.
This is inspiring. No one is ugly. We all are beautiful, just the way we all. Thanks Michelle.
My pleasure! Thank you, as well. <3
This should be submitted for the prompt beauty . it suits well. 😁
I also thought of that! Kaso nakapagsulat na ko about don sa prompt eh. 😄
There is no limit on the number of submission per prompt. No deadline as well... This is a.... Beautiful post.
You are right. I also had the same situation about naman sa Nature yung prompt.. Thanks for reading, beautiful!!
There is no such thing as "ugly."
Only when we think that it does, so it would exist. Thanks for reading!
