Funny flashbacks.
Happy new month once again to all my fellow read cashers, my lovely subscribers, tippers, commentators, sponsors and my readers. Never forget this; ***"I love you all so much.''***
Happy May!.
While trying to figure out a suitable title for my article today, I remembered some funny experiences from my past and resolved within me; to share.
How I spoilt my elder brother's **Visaphone.**
Back in the days when I was younger, there was nothing like Android, Samsung, iPhone... amongst others. We were all managing our small Nokia Torchlight, Visaphones, Sendo and so on, I guess the phone that was in Vogue during that period was; blackberry.
I was still in Primary four, when my mother gifted three of us; ***a Visaphone*** each, I loved it so much. I remember collecting my teacher's number back then and always calling to check up on them from time to time.
**My readers:** Too much story, let's get the full gist...
**Me:** (smiles) I'm sorry, enough with the stories then.
*On that fateful day...*
There was no power supply, all phone's batteries were completely exhausted, we had used it to play games and so there was no way our parents would be able to get in touch with us; when no one's phone was switched on.
We all plugged our phones and put on the socket, prolly waiting for a miracle to happen; a miracle that would make the power be restored.
*Surprisingly...*
Out of my brother's phones and mine, only mine miraculously started charging, my brothers were wondering what happened and just how mine started charging even when the power hadn't been restored.
*It was then I wanted to prove being a magician.*
I told my elder brother to give me his phone, so I'll hit it on the floor 21times, and after I've used his phone to hit the floor 21times, his phone would spiritually start charging like mine.
He gave me his phone and lo and behold! ***It worked!!!.***
*I magically spoilt his phone.*
When we came out of the room, we noticed the bulb in the parlour and it was then it dawned on us that there was light all along, but its' voltage was actually low, it was that low voltage that charged my phone alone.
*Well...*
It was too late, I had magically spoilt his phone.
The day I bought my first Android phone with an inbuilt battery.
I had never used a phone with an inbuilt battery until I clocked 17years, I know this might sound lame or weird, but it's the truth, I completely had no idea about how it was operated.
*I* *was clueless...*
I got my Infinix Android phone that day and I was filled with so much excitement.
*I skipped this part...*
My brother and I weren't really on good terms that day, so after I had purchased it, I didn't show it to him.
I had bought the phone; that's fine... But where and how do I put my SIM card?
Now that was the big question.
I started battling with my phone, trying so hard to open the back of the phone. Just like all other phones I've used in time past, but this one was unusually so difficult.
***Me:*** Aah, who send me ooh! Why did I buy this kind of phone?, why is it so hard to open the back?, Did they glue the cover of the phone to it ni? (Dabbing beads of perspiration from my face).
`I was nudged to humble myself and go into the room where my brother was, to ask him questions ooh, but the pride in me said: Me!!, never! I won't talk to that boy, I'll open it myself and put in my sim.`
***Me:*** Ooh God!! Why it so hard? *(Gets a small pin and fixes it into the back of the phone, still trying so hard to open the phone's cover)*
I was succeeding in this, the back was detaching away; little by little.
*This was timely...*
*My brother suddenly came out and shouted!.*
***Him:*** Dorcas!!! What are you doing?
***Me:*** (sad, sweating and sober) I want to put my SIM card in my phone but it's hard to open the back. (Sobs).
***Him:*** You'll spoil it oh, Madam, village girl, there's a pin there, inside the carton, you would see a tiny hole by the side of your phone, put the pin in and the phones SIM card slot/tray would be out.
***Me:*** (surprised) really!!.
I did what he asked me to and believe me when I tell you I was completely embarrassed, maybe that's how I would have forcefully opened the back of my phone and ended up getting it spoilt.
First day at the eatery.
My elder brother took me out to an eatery, we got our meal and ate, when I was through with eating, I stood up with the plate; planning to go and give it back to the people who served us the food, it was then my elder brother stopped me and said:
**My elder brother:** Ella, leave the plate on your table, someone would come and clear it.
And I was like...
Oh really! I had no idea.
That's all dearest readers.
****Appreciation:**** Shout-out to my newest sponsor @Honey_bch, help in supporting my sponsor by checking out his lovely articles, and subscribing to his page. He's a lovely writer and also a newbie like me.
****Apologies:**** I finally got back home from school yesterday evening, till next weekend again before I'll be stressed, so do pardon me if I haven't attended to your comments on my last and second to the last article, if I haven't also read and commented on yours. I hope today isn't a bad idea.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
It is "May."
Yesterday was a super hectic day for me, I went to school again and I'm just too tired, I might have to rest my head soon.
I wasn't really active yesterday, so I might not have read some of your lovely articles, do pardon me, I'll get to read as much as I can, this morning before I give in to sleep.
My darling and ever supportive sponsors, if you've not checked them out, then you know not what you're missing.
**It's "May."**
Sometimes stress would make you short of ideas and it might also make you and writer's block be friends for a day.
Oh well, since today is May, then why not write about It?
May is a spring month in the northern half of the world, and a fall month in the southern half. It is likely named after Maia, the goddess of growth.
Wikipedia
May is the fifth month of the year, in May, the ancient Romans celebrated Floralia, a festival for fertility.
**Me:** *Pardon me, but that's where my research ends, now back to me...*
May comes with lots of favourable things. I have some certain goals I wish to achieve in this month, I won't write it yet, but I'll definitely tell you if I succeeded in it or not.
Draft out your plans for May, write out those goals you want to achieve and don't say you may achieve it, without anything to show for your days.
Don't give in to the term **"may"** because we are In the month of **"May"**
I may read today...
I may not write today...
I may not get there...
I may go up there and show myself to the world.
Instead, remember May is for growth, so instead of saying those, rather say these;
I will read today.
I would write today.
I would get there.
I would go up there and show myself to the world.
***It's the first day***
***In the month of May,***
***So I hope your blessing comes in, with no delay.***
My wish to you.
*Is that you excel in whatever good it is, you put your hands to.*
*That you keep growing and advancing in knowledge.*
*That your hidden tears would be wiped off and it'll be converted to joy*
*That those requests would be answered in this month of May.*
*Your heart desires would be granted.*
*And may you keep glowing and radiating goodness and love*.
The year is gradually coming to an end. Learn to regularly say positive things to yourself in this new month, show love to others, be patient, don't act or react on impulse, think more before you talk and above all: "rekindle that fire" between you and your creator.
Pray for those who have gone astray and also remember not to keep grudges.
****My personal addition.****
In the month of April, I successfully wrote for 29days, missing out on just a day, and that was because of the lack of electricity in my area. I am too stressed out today; to figure out a topic or create a content out of the topics I have in mind which is why I'm writing about "May."
*A little celebration:*
Shout-out to all my read.cash family. To all the writers on this platform, you all are awesome!, Creating contents from mere words or topics is not really as easy as it seems. I appreciate you all. You all are gems.
`(I'm typing with completely dizzy eyes, I'm indeed tired)`
Happy New month dearest readers, I'm so grateful for your love, care and support.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
A Broken Trust.
First of, I really need to appreciate everyone who contributed via the comment section in the article I published two days ago.
I was proudly of the notion that there shouldn't be a third party, but after reading your beautiful comments, oh well. Let me share.
**Courtesy:** @VinceCharlie
There are so many other lovely writers that gave lovely comments, I took a screenshot of theirs too, but since this is not entirely what today's blog is about, I had to post only Vince's comment. With that comment up there, I'm announcing to my users that my perception of third parties in marriages has been changed.
It depends on the kind of third party involved, one should be able to discern the right people to walk up to, and also be able to spot good advices from the bad ones.
Once again dearest readers, to everyone who commented on this article thanks once again, I enjoyed reading everyone's perspective on the topic. https://read.cash/@Ellawrites/should-there-be-a-third-party-b0dddb85
Without further ado, let's delve into today's blog topic.
A Broken Trust
I trusted you, but now your words mean nothing to me, your actions spoke the truth.
16quotes.com
Trust takes years to build, seconds to break and forever to repair.
Heartstrings . WordPress.com
This article was inspired by a movie, sent to me by @el-flame, the title of the movie is **uncharted.**
From the movie, one would see a very dominant theme which is the lack of trust that existed between the actors. The movie also made me remember **Death on the Nile,** @el-flame also sent it to me, (he recommends lots of interesting movies).
I would have loved to give a brief summary of these movies, but I might have to pass and that's because I'm targeting; writing an article of nothing more than *"a 4minutes read."*
People were killed in both movies, and that was basically because of the quest for money. I remember what "Gal Gadot, who acted as Linnet Ridgeway in Death on the Nile, said;
When one is rich one doesn't really have friends.
Well to wrap that all up. In those movies, trust was broken by the closest people and all in the quest for money.
Now, let's delve deeper.
It's quite easier to love someone even when the person has highly wronged you, sometimes you just forgive, everyone is happy and you move on.
But when a trust is broken, It's hardly ever fixed. It's either never fixed or it takes a really long time to heal.
Broken trust in relationships.
Some partners are quite toxic in relationships, only because their trust has once been broken, prolly by their previous partners.
*A person who caught his partner cheating, might have difficulty in trusting the next partner with an opposite gender.*
*Someone who has been lied and deceived before, might also have an hard time in believing others.*
Trust precedes love, the love would last longer when trust is involved. It's earned by actions and it's a sense of security.
****That feeling of:**** I trust this person, (s)he would never lie to me, (s)he can never do it. I believe whatever (s)he tells me. *Awwn, isn't this lovely?.*
Trust can be damaged:
When a partner breaks promises.
When a partner does the unthinkable.
When (s)he puts his/her own needs ahead of what's best for the relationship.
When a partner goes against one's expectations...
Broken Trust:
It could really leave one, feeling hurt, depressed, sick, shocked, sad, and sober, it'll make one see the person in a different way.
***"Aaah... So Henry did this to me!!... Aaagh, people are wicked, after everything we've been through, he betrayed me! Arrggh."***
Well, trust can actually be rebuilt, especially if the scar wasn't too deep, lol, atleast not like "Death on the Nile," both partners just have to agree that they want it to work out.
Steps...
Decide to forgive or to be forgiven, try and let go of the past; slowly forgetting the betrayal.
Don't just say; "sorry" let your actions and inactions speak volumes.
Create an open mind to self-growth and improvement.
Be aware of the tiniest and innermost feelings, learn to speak up, don't just choke thoughts and imaginations in, share your thoughts.
Want it to work.
*My trust has been broken before, and I've also broken someone's trust. Lol, I guess we learn and unlearn everyday.*
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.

Let's play a game...
Yesterday was really quite hectic for me, not like I was physically stressed, but my brains were mentally stressed. I've been typing and deleting, reading and editing, without finishing. I guess this is what would finally be published.
I'm basically clueless as to what I actually want to write as an article tonight.
This was typed last night.
Today's blog.
Since it's quite hard to figure out a topic.
Let's play a game and just have lots of fun. I'll be asking random questions, basically any question that pops into my head and I'll give answers to them, you're free to actually pick any of the questions I'll drop and leave your own answers, based on your experience or findings...
*So, shall we?.*
A funny and embarrassing childhood experience you had.
I definitely can't forget this day, I was 13years old then, in my class, we were given an assignment to write the name of our favorite food and explain the process of preparation.
Silly me... I didn't know what my favorite food was, so I just randomly picked "toast bread."
Now, the thing here is that, I actually had no prior idea as to what toast bread looked like, but on few occasions I do hear my classmates talking about: going home to eat toast bread, saying they've missed eating toast bread and the likes.
I'd never seen it, I'd never tasted it, but from the mouth of my classmates, I felt it was my favorite meal. I wrote about it and submitted the next day in class.
I wasn't expecting this, but unfortunately for me that day, my English teacher asked us to read our answers out loud, he pointed to me and asked me to read out what I wrote about my favorite food and how it's prepared.
Lol. I stood up, cleared my throat and began.
Me: My name is ........... I am ....... My favourite food is toast bread, and this is how it's prepared.
Steps...
Put on the gas cooker,
Put a dried pan on the gas cooker,
Pour your vegetable/groundnut oil,
Allow it fry a bit,
Put your sliced bread inside and allow it fry, after sometime; turn the bread to the other side and allow it fry as well.
Lift the pan from the fire and use it to toss the bread up, place it back and leave it for few more minutes.
Hurray!!! The toast bread is ready!!...
Everyone, including my English teacher, bursted into laughter.
I wondered why they laughed, until later on, one of my friends came to me and said: There's a machine for making toast bread.
I was like... What!! Really!!.
What do you do more: "Spend or Save?"
Honestly, this should be quite direct, I'm a typical spender, but I'm definitely working towards a change in that.
Food allergies.
Honestly, I can eat anything edible, inasmuch as it doesn't contain alot of ginger.
Hobbies.
Singing, writing, dancing, talking and prolly sleeping.
What would make you run out of fear when you see it close to you?.
No long caps: *rats, wall geckos, lizards, cats and prolly some clingy dogs. I can actually stand having a dog close by, but once it moves closer and starts trying to play with me... Aaaah, I'll run ooh.*
Which did you prefer when you were younger: "to be flogged physically or to be really criticized?"
Words make me cry, but for canes; not really. I prefer being flogged than to be really criticized.
Ever bathed outside when you were smaller.
No, I've never experienced such, it wasn't a bad idea before, but now, in this present world we are in,with children doing the unthinkable, I'd suggest that parents should stop allowing their kids bath outside; especially not to the view of others.
These next line of questions were introduced to me by @FashTioluwa , another top-notch writer on this platform, thanks alot dear friend.
If you could travel back in time and bring your first true love back to live in the present, would you?
Well the answer is no, I've moved on.
Which color would you want to see for the rest of your life if humans lost the ability to see all colors except one?
Lol, I'm quite clueless on this, but i guess I'd go for blue.
If you sent out one last text message to everyone in the world, what would it say?
To everyone in the world? Lol, it would be my account details. (Smiles) just messing around. But for real it'll prolly say: ***"You can never be loved more than the love you have for yourself, your sanity matters, give yourself some treat and just learn to love yourself."***
I've done mine, it's your turn, pick any of the questions and leave an answer to it in the comment section. You could also ask some questions in the comment section, and I'll reply to it...
I do hope you find this game interesting.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Should there be: "a third party?"
Today's blog is going to be an interactive one.
P.S:
I'm not opposing, neither am I supporting, but I'll be choosing what to me is best and I'll love to hear my lovely readers take on this...
**But before I proceed:**
Here are my lovely sponsors, I know you've met most of them, and you just might not have met some of them. Do well to check their intriguing articles.
I'll say this and keep saying this: **"my sponsors are gems."**
Let's admire them together. Awwwwn.
****Today's blog.****
I saw a movie this night, left to me, I'd say; "the movie was just quite absurd." I completely saw no sense in what it was all about. But I actually did like what the moral was trying to spit out.
What was this movie all about?
A girl had two friends, her friends were single and she was the opposite. The married girl had some self inflicted problems in her marriage.
The problems were: her inability to clean the house and inability to cook for her husband, she felt it wasn't her duty to do so (atleast that's what she was told by her mother) her hubby kept nagging all the time, the house was always looking so unkempt and untidy. She hardly ever cooked for him. He kept complaining and she on the other hand; felt he was too overbearing and annoying. She would go; crying and complaining about her marriage issues with her two single friends. Luckily for her; they weren't hypocrites, they always told her the truth.
One of the friend's was a bit blunt with her words, whilst the other was still somewhat tactful, this always pissed married girl off. She was never pleased with the truth that came out of the mouth of the friend who was blunt.
***To wrap it all up.***
They had a conversation one day and this married lady told her blunt friend; to be her husband's wife for 72hours, just so her friend would understand that it's her husband that's at fault and not her. The two single friends were taken aback at first, it was indeed a very deadly game. This married lady said there were no rules attached, which meant the blunt, single friend would sleep with ***'her'*** husband, clean the house and perform all other wifely duties. Just to prove that ***'her'*** husband was the one with the problem and not her.
I was pained with the way the film ended though, I was actually expecting the single, blunt friend and the married friend's husband to later get married.
That's why I said the movie was quite absurd.
***Like how can you tell your friend to be your husband's wife for 72hours just to prove a ridiculous point?***
***Who does that?***
Anyways...
One thing I picked from that movie; was:
The married girl was so free; confiding in her friends about her marital issues.
The hubby was also free; confiding with his best friend about what he was going through in his marriage.
In these scenarios, these people are called **"third parties."**
According to experts, a third party is a person or group besides the couple, involved in a situation, especially a dispute. He or she can be either of the couples’ family members, friends, co-workers or neighbours.
Punch news.
In that movie, thank goodness those friends were nice friends, but it's not in all cases. Friends like that are actually rare to find and that's the truth.
**Picture this:** Your friends are single, you're married and every little disagreement you have with your hubby, you run to their aid and start blurting out.
Not all friends would be nice enough to tell you the truth, some would proudly add fuel to the fire, just to make it hotter for you, and you'll see reasons in their ideas, only because it aligns with the lies you're telling yourself.
Should there be a third party in a relationship/marriage?
After some findings, I read different opinions from different people concerning this matter.
Some said:
Third parties are very good in a relationship/marriage, that before a man or a woman gets married, they should look out for a person, probably an elderly person that commands respect, someone both parties fear and would listen to.
So that; should incase any disagreement arises, the wife or the husband can quickly go; seeking the aid of the third party and the third party would be able to settle such disagreements.
Others said:
Having a third-party in ones home Is completely wrong, especially because most third parties these days offer wrong advices, the risk is that; some third parties might also be going through alot in their homes, so having to discuss your own marital issues with them is like finding solution in a sea of problems.
My own opinion:
Having a third party to me is wrong, all marriages have their ups and downs, disagreements would surely arise, couples should just learn how to settle it by either sitting eachother down and having a mature discussion on resolving the conflict between eachother.
Involving a third party, be it one's father, mother, friend, relatives, pastor... Is a **no**, for me.
****New sponsor:**** I got another lovely notification today; stating that I have a new sponsor, I clicked and... Wow!! It was @VinceCharlie, a top-notch blogger on this platform. Thanks alot for the sponsorship, Vince.

The nudge, (obey that voice).
Nudge in plain terms can be seen as a push to do; or not to do something.
Nudge, according to Wikipedia means:
to push slightly or gently, especially with the elbow, to get someone's attention, ***prod someone into action***.
**"The nudge"** in reference to what today's blog is all about is simply put:
That feeling, strong, urgent push to do something. The nudge I'm referring to is that which stays in our minds.
When your mind tells you to do something, when your mind is not comfortable with something, when your mind tells you not to go somewhere, when it tells you to keep quiet and just listen...
Have you ever?
Been nudged to read on a particular topic for test or exams, you find yourself disobeying and when you get to the hall, you realise that all the area of concentration and all you read didn't come out, but that one or two pages you felt won't come out, actually did. Then you start regretting and wishing ooh!
And my mind said it oh... *(Sober reactions).*
Tried passing your regular route leading to your workplace and you just had that strong nudge not to pass there that morning, you decided to obey and later you heard that all the people that passed that route in the morning were robbed?
I love stories, so here's one.
A girl was preparing to go for her early morning service in church "6am-7am" there was a shorter route that would have easily led her to church, a route she always passed, (who doesn't like shortcuts) and there was also a longer route that would put her through more trekking stress before she gets to church.
Well, on that fateful day; just as she was about entering her regular shortcut route, God placed a very strong nudge in her heart to pass the longer street, she felt it was her mind playing tricks on her and after all, God wouldn't want her to go late to church, the nudge was persistent, but she couldn't imagine going through the stress of passing the longer route.
She passed the shorter route and unfortunately, there were five men who were probably waiting for someone in skirts to come by...
***She was raped...***
You wouldn't blame God for this, she was warned, but God doesn't force, he warns you and still gives you an entitlement to choice "you either obey or disobey" but you'll bear the consequences of whatever action you make.
Been nudged to call someone and encourage the person, or pray for the person. And when you do so, you realize that the person was passing through trauma, and that single call you made; uplifted the person's soul?.
Been nudged to speak in tongues, pray, sing a praise song, laugh, smile?.
We all receive nudges, I doubt if there's a soul on this Earth that hasn't been nudged before.
Another story from my personal experience.
I came back knackered from a vigil rehearsal at exactly 6am. After a long journey from the venue of the vigil to my house, I was feeling really dizzy, I just wanted to hit the sheets and doze off to sleep...
***But...***
I had work to do that same day, so I had a minimum number of hours to satisfy my sleepy feelings. I hadn't cooked too, so I felt; "since there was light, let me cook first before I hit the sheets." I placed the beans into a pot and placed the pot on the gas cooker, and went to sit on one of the dining chairs.
Lo and behold!, the sleep kept beckoning on me to spare my eyes the luxury of rest.
A nudge was placed in my heart, to either sit and drill shorthand, just to take my mind off sleeping, or put off the gas and hit the sheets.
Nay... I didn't feel like drilling in shorthand that morning, even though it's what I love to do. I resolved in my heart to go and lay for awhile on my bed, close my eyes a bit and jerk back up to check the beans.
***Beloved readers...***
I actually woke up, but guess what time. I woke up by exactly 9am, now 6am to 9am Is a really lengthy gap.
The whole house was filled with black fumes, funny enough my dad who has a good sense of smell didn't even perceive the odour. Black fumes were everywhere, I literally had to pin my fingers to my nose as I walked swiftly to put off the gas. The pot was burnt beyond recognition, oh!. The beans, the texture was a terrible sight to behold.
I had to open the door for fresh air to enter and for those black fumes to move out. Oh, thank goodness the house wasn't burnt.
For weeks, the stench from the burnt beans was still very much present.
If I had obeyed the nudge and probably just sat on one of the dining chairs to drill... Or if I had put off the gas and gone to sleep.
***Sighs...***
Nudges mostly come from God, I call those nudges: ***"The Divine nudge"***
Let's learn to obey, but not just obey, but to also hope for the spirit of discernment, to discern what is right or wrong.
Obey the voice.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Jealousy.
Jealousy is an often overwhelming feeling of insecurity about a potential loss or inequity in distribution of resources.
Wikipedia
Two best friends. They were friends since birth, judging from the way their mothers were also friends, one would guess these ladies' friendship would be buried with them. One was light skinned, the other was dark skinned. The former was not as beautiful and brainy as the latter, but who cares, their friendship grew at the dawn of each passing day.
One day, something happened, something that altered this 'happy ever after" story; forever. The former; at the age of 16, started seeing life differently from when they both played with sand. She started observing those preferential treatments diverted towards the latter. At first she didn't budge until their birthday arrived.
*Oops... Forgive my manners, I forgot to tell my readers; that these two lovely friends shared the same birth date.*
The latter received so much love from families and friends, the gifts were quite innumerable, the texts, calls and just everything. It was quite the opposite for the former, and that was when it all started.
Sadly also; that was when it all ended. The former killed the latter and killed herself thereafter... I guess she decided to extend their friendship by journeying them to the land of no return.
***At the end, they shared the same birthdate and the same death date.***
*Alas!...* That was how the once happy story, ended in tragedy and why?...
The former allowed her jealousy control her thinking.
Need I say this, but for some, it's easy to get jealous. Not allowing that jealousy to control and rule your thinking, is where the journey to overcome it starts from.
I always have this terrible mindset and this mindset sometimes makes me act below my capability, all because I don't want the other person who is either my senior or probably someone I met in the business, or just maybe someone who introduced me to something; see me as a rival.
*The fear of doing better than the one I met there, makes me shy away from doing things to the best of my capabilities.*
**P.S:** That notion up there, might be true and might not be, but it's just the way I view things.
I was employed as a teacher, early last year, to teach the nursery section. (You can imagine the kind of work that comes with it).
Singing rhymes with them.
Acting like a child, just to come down to their level of understanding.
Shouting and jumping, just to make the classes lovely and humourous.
Writing their class and home activities on their exercise books.
Holding their hands to guide them in writing their curves, dashes, strokes and the likes.
I knew how to jump and shout, just like the teacher I met there knew how to, but anytime this teacher was around, I usually acted and behaved like I couldn't do it.
Alot of complaint was made, but I kept acting like; playing and teaching the kids at the same time, was something I am and was never used to.
And this was because, I had the notion that she might get jealous if the director of the school starts seeing my efforts and starts praising me more than the praises he renders to her.
Little children love it more when you play with them while teaching, lol, if you're the type that's so serious and hardly smile and you decide to teach little children with such kind of serious minded mentality. Lol, then I'm sorry, I doubt they'll listen to you.
That last paragraph simply means that, they never ever responded to me the way they would to the other teacher. And that was because I was overly acting serious and the other teacher was really playful around them.
But when she left the school, I started playing and doing everything with the kids, all these made them grow sudden affection towards me. They became free around me and always responded to my teachings and jokes.
**Question here is:** Was my notion about her true? Would she really had gotten jealous if the director had praised me more than he did her?.
**And also:** Have you ever acted below your capability, just so you won't look like a rival to the other party? Or just so the other party doesn't get unnecessarily jealous of your achievements?
**There are so many ways jealousy is formed.**
Low self-esteem.
Insecurities.
Inferiority complex.
Lack of contentment.
Hatred.
Fear...
Jealousy can be really toxic and can lead one into murder, just like the story I wrote about. It could also lead one into illegal commitment just to bring one's rival down.
Jealousy can also lead to hatred and resentment. Jealousy would make you weigh your achievements with that of others, and would make you wish the downfall of another person.
*Let me stop here, I'll love to hear your reply to those questions, especially because I've done it a whole lot of time; pretending I don't know how to do a particular thing just to make the other party feel (s)he can do it best and to avoid the other party from harboring jealous thoughts towards me.*
****New Sponsor:**** The person behind me; being on this platform, thanks so much for your sponsorship, @Tomi-Ajax your support towards me right from the beginning is none to reckon with.
And to my readers...
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.

If love reigned...
Sometimes I just sit back to wonder what life would have been if the word; **"love"** wasn't just a word that people utter without really actualizing it.
Imagine if the world was filled with people who care for others, people who take the needs of others like it was actually theirs, filled with people who can't stand seeing another mortal like themselves; suffer.
But...
It's too sad and bad, love is very much far from us. Love is only a word that is used to pacify our emotions. Don't quote me wrong, I'm referring to that kind of love...that kind of love that's unconditional, soothing and loving. That undeserving kind of love.
If love reigned, there would be peace not war.
If love reigned, there would be blessings not curses.
If love reigned, there wouldn't be divisions leading to conflicts, but unity.
If love reigned, we might just never had known the meaning of greed or pain. Our leaders would have been better leaders; ruling and raising good and supportive followers.
If love reigned... what is jealousy? What is malice?, What is hatred?, What is... Oh! If love reigned. What would we know of such bad happenings in the world?
*Kidnappings, rituals, killings, rape, battering, pains...*
If love reigned...there would be serenity in our land. Men won't beat their wives, mothers won't abandon their children, people won't be raped, sufferings would be less heard.
A little digression, but still in line with the topic.
Someone who I respect alot, posted this picture prompt on his status and told me to write a poem on it, the poem below is what I came up with. If you can also write a poem on it, I'd be delighted to read it in the comment section.
***Pass it on.***
***To the one who is all lonely and sad***
***with depression hovering in his heart,***
***don't hold back; learn to give when you have.***
***You never can tell who you'd make smile.***
***The world wouldn't be so bad,***
***If we held each other's hands.***
***Friendships would have lasted long,***
***if the love instilled in our hearts***
***never allowed greed make it all go wrong.***
***Oh! Let's hold eachother's hands,***
***walking all the way to the top,***
***and after this has been done,***
***Let's keep this always in our minds;***
***to keep spreading love: "pass it on."***
Love is a beautiful thing, I wish it doesn't reign only in our mouths, but reigns more in our hearts.
We are gifted with so many things, there are people out there who needs us to lead them to the part of success.
So then... Learn to pass it on, let love lead. Most people wants to progress, even if it's to the detriment of others.
If love reigned... but sadly it's just a mere wish.

Why ants touch themselves.
Today was a really hectic and strenuous day for me, I couldn't even do my usuals on read.cash and that was because of how busy my day was. I'm so glad to finally be home; reading, commenting and tipping some articles whilst writing mine too.
Part-time classes resumed today, so I went to school, it was quite boring anyways, reason; because we had just one lecture.
While sitting down and quietly observing, I noticed the movements of some ants.
I've noticed this before but I'm not the kind of inquisitive person that will immediately feed my quest by surfing or asking questions. Today's own was just quite spectacular, I had to finally surf the internet to check out what it meant.
There are alot of things one can actually learn from an ant.
Teamwork/co-operation.
Savings.
Deligence and hard-work, to mention but a few.
What I noticed, which I've actually noticed before.
Ants, when moving, touches themselves, they move closer to another, touch the other and continue moving. It was just so fascinating, I've actually seen them act this way before, but I wasn't all that interested, not until today. I did a video of it, but I just don't know how to upload a video on read.cash, so let's see if we'd see a picture of it on unsplash.
After surfing the internet, I got to understand that ants are from different colonies, they touch and smell eachother to be sure that both ants are from the same colonies, if they sense that the other ant is not from their colony and there's actually an intruder, things might get tense.
Due to the ants olfactory system, they have their ways of terrifying intruders. Their olfactory system can tell off the scent left from an intruder than one of their owns. So when two ants from different colonies meets, the one without any colony members (the intruder) backs off and protect its life.
Colonies of different ants have their own unique smell, members recognize eachother and sniffs out the intruders. Ants produces pheromones, pheromones are scent chemicals used to communicate and make trails.
Also, when you see an ant that stays too long; touching its fellow ants, they are actually passing ingested food to the other, an ant might be going in search for food and might meet another ant on its' way, they touch themselves for long to ensure the other well fed, either from the mouth or from the anus.
So...
Anytime you see an ant bumping into every other ant that comes their way, just know that they are either:
Smelling themselves to know which colony the other ant belongs to.
Or...
Feeding themselves through the mouth or the anus.
Don't feel it has poor navigational skills, the ant might just be telling the other of the danger lying ahead. But if they stay in contact way longer than normal, then you're seeing/watching an insect deed that ensures everyone is well fed.
****Apologies:**** I must say this, I didn't really participate in engaging today, was stressed and still is, also wasn't in a good frame of mind. I'll definitely be more agile tomorrow.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.

Fear of asking for help.
FOAFH is an acronym to these words:
Fear
Of
Asking
For
Help
We all know that it's good to ask people for help. The truth is that, no matter how we want to paint it, we need eachother, we actually can't do things on our own, we need eachother to actually pull through and succeed.
What are some psychological reasons why people are afraid to ask others for help?.
Asking for help often makes people feel uneasy, they feel like they are exposing their problems to others. It doesn't just go well with them, they wouldn't also want to feel dependent on the help of others.
**The fear of rejection:** *(this one is me ooh,I practically don't like it when I finally speak up and tell you my worries and problems and boom... The next thing you say is that you can't be of help or assistance).* People are scared to be turned down, so instead of being turned down, they'll rather keep their problems to themselves and just not bother asking for help.
A short story from my experience... Lol, I love talking about my experiences. (smiles)
Incase you don't know this, am a part-time student in the prestigious Yaba college of technology. My part-time classes falls on weekends alone.
In my first year and my second semester, there was a little bit of difficulty based on finances. The money to foot the school fees was just not forthcoming, part-time school fees is like; times 3 of full-time fees (triple expensive). Things were hard, life was just too tough. My brother and I couldn't pay our fees till exams fully commenced. I could remember how I would keep trying to dodge, so I won't be sent out of the examination hall, once one isn't with ones docket, one won't be able to seat for the exams.
I literally don't know how it happened but I was able to seat for the exams without being harassed. But the problem here is that: ***"the fees were still left unpaid."*** They kept closing and opening the school's portal. Still the struggles was just there.
Without payment of ones fees, the exams are as good as useless and that's because it's when you've paid your fees, you would register your courses. So do tell... Of what use is seating for an exam that is not registered?. Answer is... There will still be no result!.
The thing is, my very close friend, "Vicky" had enough money in her account back then, the money would have paid my twin and I school fees and there would still be change. She told me about the money she had.
**My mind kept pushing me:** Ask her, ask her to lend it to you, so you can pay your fees. By the time you finally have money for it, it might be too late, the portal might have been closed, but it won't be too late to pay her back.
**But I told my mind:** Wo, leave me... I can't ask her, she knows I've not paid my fees, if she wanted to help, she would have.
**My mind:** Just ask and hear what she has to say.
**Me:** No, I can't ask her, what if she says "no" what would then be the use; staining ones ego and still be rejected at the end?.
And that was how I never asked Vicky, till they closed the portal, by the time the money was finally available, there was no going back. The portal for that semester had been closed for good.
And now readers, all the exams I wrote for that semester are as good as useless. Infact I didn't see my result for that semester when the results were finally out. That's automatically an extra year for me, since I had carryover in all those courses.
Truth is that, if I had asked... She might have said "no" and also, she might have said "yes." But how would I know?
***I never asked...***
**Fear of looking incompetent and feeling ashamed:** for some people, like myself, the fear of feeling shameful as regards our situation would make us not to ask for help. I think this happens mostly to people who doesn't like talking about their problems, they'll rather keep it to themselves than to spill it all out. Oh!.. this is the typical me.
Another experience of mine.
There was a time, there was hardly any food in the house, if we even saw "cassava flakes" I'd have been grateful.
There was practically nothing... My stomach was rumbling with hunger, I had friends that I was so sure of... So sure that if I had asked any of them or told any of them that I was completely famished with not even a grain of rice, they would have supported me with something, even if it's a cup of rice or beans.
But...
I said completely nothing, I felt too ashamed to tell my friends that I was hungry, I felt it would look and sound like am begging, the shame was just too much. I kept it all to myself.
**My mum would say:** Girlgirl, ask your friends, they might have.
**Me, to my mum:** Mummy don't worry, no need. They don't have.
**My mum:** Who told you?...
**Me:** *(adamant)* I cannot ask them.
It's really burdensome and that's the truth, not asking for help doesn't mean you're strong, it's just toxic to your health.
Someone who finds it hard to seek help from others might as well end up dying in silence.
*It's better to ask and be rejected than not to ask at all.*
**Appreciation:** It's one thing to be sponsored, and it's another thing for that sponsorship to be renewed. Dearest @Talecharm this heart is expressing its gratitude to you, for renewing your sponsorship. Thanks alot, and I'm immensely grateful for your loving show of care and support.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
How can you tell a man; no and still be friends?.
Something happened yesterday and it actually triggered the inspiration to write this article.
How the topic came into play.
I talk to myself alot, I'm part of those category of people that finds: **"self"** to be a really interesting and loving friend to actually talk to.
Yesterday evening, I engaged myself in a discussion; remembering the occurrence that happened yesterday morning and oh!, Through this process, this question popped up.
***How can you tell a man; no and still be friends?.***
As a girl, so many boys/men would come; knocking on the door to your heart, requesting for love and a relationship. If you decide to date all the boys/men that asks you out, you might as well end up dating the whole males in the world.
In essence...
*There are just some people that must be politely turned down.*
Initially, anytime a guy passes the green light to me, I tell him my response immediately, once I know the answer is no, then so be it. Am not a fan of telling a guy the: ***"give me sometime to think about it."*** If I know that am not interested, then get ready to hear me go straight to the point.
Let's skip all these long talks. What actually happened yesterday?
I work in an agent's office, one of my jobs is to go out; ***"house hunting, shop hunting, land hunting"*** writing down the numbers I've gotten and putting a call through to them to find out the **prices, rents, agreement, commission and all in all; the total packages.**
In the past.
I had already written down the number I saw on a board, placed directly in front of a vacant two bedroom apartment, I had tried speaking directly to the landlord of the house since I had already seen the house, but all efforts were rendered futile. The tenant I saw there gave me no information whatsoever, she told me plainly to call the agent's number that was written on the board outside.
Yesterday.
I put a call through to him and we conversed, I asked questions as regards the house and he didn't fail to provide answers.
The discussion actually went well, only for him to call back few minutes after I had hung up, he asked if I saw his text message, I had responded in the negative and told him I'd check it. I went on to check the message and I was just shocked...
**Here's a screenshot.**
This man has never seen me before, but I needed his service, so I was trying my best to reply in ways that he'll understand and maybe we might just probably be able to pull through with the deal.
He was just moving way too fast.
I still need him, he's useful in the area of being an agent, but then; with the way he just wasn't seeing reasons, I had to stop replying.
Now...
Have I destroyed this relationship?
Am I the one at fault?
Is there something I could have said to still keep the conversation going?.
I know of guys that even if you tell them you're in a relationship, they'll still want to shoot their shots. Now, I followed my mum's guidelines by telling him what I told him in the above, but still yet; the relationship has been destroyed.
Sometimes, friendships that have been built for months or years suddenly goes sour after the guy passes the green light and the girl just refuses to see it or better still; refuses to pass it back to him. She probably gave him the red light instead.
The question above might really be somehow difficult to respond to, especially because we all see things from different perspective.
Some guys prefer to just stay away to avoid them from being in pain.
While some still decides to stick around and remain friends... Oh I love these kinds.
Some are just being selfish, especially because they know you are quite used to their presence.
Honestly, at this point, I literally don't even know if there'll be any answer to the question above. It's good to keep relationships with people, but then it's also good to allow the guy in question; do what he feels would be better, to help his sanity and peace of mind.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Communicating reduces grudges.
**Grudge.**
a persistent feeling of ill will or resentment resulting from a past insult or injury.
Wikipedia
Sometimes the grudge we feel towards someone; based on the way they acted, stains our pure heart and also sometimes the grudge we feel towards them are based on prejudice, but the pride in us wouldn't want us to try correcting our wrongs. Makes me remember one of @Trifecta article, where he wrote about prejudice and ignorance.
***What do I mean by the statement up there?.***
Oh well, it's quite simple: sometimes we do get angry and keep malice with another over irrelevant and minor things. Minor things that could be settled with just **one conversation**.
An experience of mine, to buttress on this.
*One thing about me is that: I can greet for Africa, but once you don't respond and am sure you heard my greetings, forget about it. I might literally just sign out on greeting you.*
Something happened at my place of work.
There is a young man whose shop/office is directly opposite the small office I work in, he runs a model office or computer business; "printing of documents, typing, training students and all."
On one fateful morning, I greeted him but he gave me no response, I stood up from my seat and greeted him again but still yet; there was no reply. I was so sure he heard me, especially because am quite a professional when it comes to shouting in other to make sure I'm heard.
After that morning scenario, and when my colleague was around, I narrated to my colleague; what transpired between the man and i. My colleague had responded by telling me about a previous complaint the man made about me to him sometime ago; saying that: "I don't usually greet him."
**In my mind I was like:** Me...!!! A whole me that can greet people for Africa, perhaps the man didn't understand what he said.
**Anyways...**
Ever since that scenario played out, I resolved in my mind to never ever greet the man again.
It was quite peaceful. Whenever I get to work, I'll just open the gate, mind my business, greet other people and forget about greeting the man in question.
On and on; I continued, until my mum found out and advised me otherwise. She reminded me of a saying:
You don't know who would help you tomorrow, you can't be keeping malice with people, sometimes it's good to just try and maintain relationships with people.
Girlgirl swallow spit and go and speak to that man on Tuesday (today).
Mum
I saw sense in what she said and did her bidding today.
Readers!!...
You wouldn't believe me when I tell you that after meeting with this man and voicing out. After asking him why he didn't reply my greetings previously. He actually said he didn't hear me greeting him that day. He went on by saying that he'll never refuse to respond to the greetings of others even if he is in an angry state of mind.
Wow!!. So that's how I would have ended up holding onto a grudge based on pride and assumptions.
It's not really nice to hold unto a grudge with someone, communication would really make a big difference.
Imagine if you had a issue with your best friend and instead of just saying goodbye to the relationship, you walk up to your friend, sit her down and have a proper conversation with her. Wouldn't that be nice?.
***If we could communicate better with eachother; voicing out our wrongs, apologizing and trying to find solutions to the problem, the rate of holding unto a grudge would have reduced drastically.***
But... You see ehn... Especially the ladies, we find it difficult to be the one that strikes a conversation.
`Communication reduces grudges.`
I have so many experiences to share with you all, but let me just put a full stop to it here.
Some people would be like...
*Me!!, Meet her?, Am I the one that's at fault?, What she did was wrong, I can't beg her ooh, she's the one at fault, to hell with her friendship, I'm not going to meet her!!!*.
Be the peacekeeper, be the one that tries keeping that bond, it doesn't make you look weak. Infact the one who tries to find solution to a grudge or quarrel is actually the strongest.
We don't know where we would find eachother tomorrow, so instead of breaking bonds through holding onto a grudge, why not try being a peacekeeper instead.
`I felt really happy after I voiced out today and after the table was cleared.`
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.

Seems like am starting afresh.
First of:
Thanks alot for your beautiful comments on my previous article, it is well appreciated, lol, am not in jail, so I definitely adhered to the wise advices you all gave.
The article was quite fictional, although some part of it was actually real, while others weren't. But needless to say; I really appreciate everyone's comments.
The issue with power supply in my area is just completely something else, I wasn't able to publish or read people's lovely articles since yesterday evening. Believe me when I say this: ***I almost cried.*** It was just completely different for me.
***Well now I can take in a deep, happy sigh.***
**My sponsors are gems, you really need to check out their articles. This week I'll be writing a full article about them.**
****Today's blog.****
While trying to adjust to all these, I had a discussion with @Tomi-Ajax , lamenting my pains out; into his ears, honestly it all seems new to me. Like... just 24hours away from read.cash, due to the poor power supply in my area makes it look like am starting all afresh.
I've been trying to publish an article since 4:30pm today, racking my brains, just trying to figure it all out, but nothing was just coming in, I was struggling between my daily routines on read.cash.
Do I write and publish first?
Or perhaps I should read articles, upvote and leave comments first?
Or just maybe, I should rather reply the comments on my previous articles?
Sighs... Who knows, maybe I should just check out the replies to the comments I made on people's articles yesterday morning/afternoon?.
Like... I was practically and typically lost, it got to a point where I almost got depressed.
You know that feeling whereby you don't do justice to ***two dishes*** in the sink, and then the next day, you still don't wash them, on and on it goes until a particular day when you finally decide to wash them, and the look of the dishes waiting for you to wash them is just so scary that you'll literally start wishing you started washing them when they were of lesser quantity.
*Now.. that's literally the feeling I had when I saw the amount of articles I haven't read.*
I've studied articles of the people I subscribed to:
I know some people that publish their articles in the morning.
Those who publish in the afternoon.
And those who publish in the evening/night, just like me.
So far, I've been able to read most of their daily articles just according to the time they click on the publish button.
But today was just so different, it was just so tiring for me. I've presently not read any article today, I'm planning to do justice to them all, once I publish this.
**Now, I have:**
Morning publishers,
Afternoon publishers,
Evening/night publishers' articles to read this night.
I basically don't even know where to start from.
24hours off read, seems like one is starting afresh.
It got to a point when I had to go off read.cash just to clear my head, when I came back, I got all the more confused.
A part of me had to advice the other part of me; saying: ***"Just calm down, one step at a time."***
***That's why I'm pretty much calmer now.***
*****Apologies:***** *I don't know if I'm actually meant to do this, but i'm practically apologising for my inactivity on read, I'll attend to everyone's comments and endeavor I read on all the beautiful articles I've missed out on.*
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Resentment.
*I'm sure, you feel this is an article; defining resentment, its causes and the way out. Well, I hate to burst your bubbles, but... Let's begin:*
What could be more better?
He deserves it all. I grew up in the house of a father who found pleasure in my pains, for many years; I suffered grievous beatings in his hands. Days; when he'd press my neck to the ground, days when he'd use a wooden rod to hit my nose; causing it to swell; making me look ugly and scared.
**Days... days... I truly suffered...**
Days, nights when he'll willfully throw me out of his house, locking me all out, only because I mummured while going to do his bidding, days when he would tear off my clothes; with me trying my best to cover the parts where my private part lies.
Days... days... A father!!
Resentment is what I feel for him through the years, how can I forgive such a man?! It's easier to say the word "forgive" but it's harder to actually do it, I see his face everyday and it makes me feel more pains... pains... pains, oh! resentment knocks so terribly on the doors of my heart...
When I was quite younger, I couldn't fathom what actually happened to my senses, all I know was that my own father almost led me into... into commiting the worst abomination a father and his daughter could ever... All to soothe the desires of his sexual urges.
Oh! You would curiously ask... Where was my mother?
Oh definitely, from the way he treated me, you should know, he had long sent her packing; away from his house.
Resentment.
the harboring of ill-will or anger against someone who you feel has wronged or hurt you in the past, and you couldn't stop it.
Wikipedia
Poverty made him sober, I feel God has his reasons for taking out some people's wealth, now he's all out, looking pitiful and in pains.
There was a day he asked: ***"Why do you hate me this much?"*** I hissed and walked out. He has changed, and even if he hasn't, I'm no longer the little girl who was scared of his hands. If he dares touch me again, I definitely can defend myself. I've tried forgiving, it's easier to forgive when I don't look into his eyes... It's easier to forgive him when I'm far away from his house. Believe me I tried...
But...
Whenever I see him, old grudges comes back to relax in my heart. It's easier to tell a story, but how hard it might be; for the readers to understand the pains behind it.
Truly they say; **one might never understand the pain of a person, but the person (him)herself.**
Years rolled by as my resentment for him grew stronger, oh yes! I did try... Try; forgiving, but my past life just won't let me.
I don't know about your experience with your father, but one thing I know for sure is: **"my own experience with him was hardly... ever a father and daughter's bonding."**
I'm so filled with hatred, the resentment I feel for him has definitely made me hate the people in the world.
Oh! How can I forgive?.
As am typing this, there's a gun in my hands. What would you have me do?
***Shoot him? Or leave him alive?***
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
*I'm guessing, if I kill him, my next article would be written in jail.*
***But... What do I do to quench the undying resentment I feel deep inside.***
Thanks for reading.

Mr Perfect.
I'm so happy, am thrilled, am overwhelmed, am... Oh you just name it, okay; you all, must be wondering the cause of my excitement. Let me cut you some slacks and spill it all out.
So today, I saw him... The complete definition of the perfect man.
Guys...
He's tall, he's dark, he's handsome. Oh! I was drooling all over him.
He was there, in the commercial bus heading to Yaba, I entered the bus and sat beside him. I was there sitting, unnoticed for awhile; watching the bus driver beckoning on the pedestrians. When this was over, and the passengers were all seated, the bus driver started collecting his fare.
It was then I noticed my Mr perfect sitting directly beside me.
He spoke to me! Oh yes! His voice... His voice... as calm as the touch of a warm palm; soothing away my worries. So macho yet awesome.
He asked how much I intended to give the bus driver, I told him and he collected mine since mine would not result to him disturbing the driver for his balance. We all paid and the bus took off.
I thought that was all, until my Mr Handsome spoke once more to me. Oh! It was so obvious: "I was drooling all over him."
He was cute,
He had pink lips,
Oh! The scent I perceived from his body was one to die for.
Is it his white sparkling set of teeth's?.
Oh! Here comes the great one. He was the complete definition of TDH, oh, my spec. He was tall, he was dark and oh gosh!, he was so handsome.
When he smiled..., when he smiled at me. I became so weak, I just couldn't control myself.
My little discussion with my Mr Perfect made us exchange contacts, and from being passengers in a bus, we became really close to each other, I was so intrigued when it came to flaunting him around.
I flaunted him to my friends
I flaunted him to my exes.
I flaunted him to those little boys; asking me out.
I flaunted him to those short boys that felt I would one day give them a chance.
Weeks turned to months, months turned into two years and we tied the knot.
Suddenly...
After a year of living as a wife to my Mr Perfect, things changed from bliss to crisis.
He started keeping late nights, I would call, and he kept on busying my calls, I'll text, he won't text back neither would he acknowledge my text, sometimes he doesn't even come home at all.
Then it happened,
After repeatedly calling him that day, he finally picked. Atleast I thought he did.
**Me:** Why didn't you pick up since?. Where are you dear, you're getting me all worked up.
**The lady:** (seemingly furious) So you are the mistress to my husband right?
**Me:** (bemused) what in God's name are you talking about? I should be asking you this question. Who are you?
**The lady:** I am his wife, I've been married to him for over five years now and we have four children, if you love yourself, just stay off my husband. Else...
I woke up.
It was then I woke up!, I had been dreaming all along. "What was this dream all about?" I wondered. My phone rang, when I saw the caller's ID, I sucked my teeth in disgust and muttered: ***oh heavens! Can't this short, disgusting guy grant me my peace!!.***
A quick flashback:
Before I had that dream, there's this guy that has constantly been asking me out for a date, goodness! He's short for crying out loud! Of all people, a short guy! Common, what would my friends say when they see me walking with a guy that's half my height?.
Yuck! It's really disgusting, i for one, can't even imagine being in such relationship.
Oh wait, there's more. Apart from being short, he's just too fat. If pigs weren't quite dirty, I'd have said they might just be his family members.
I need a perfect man! I need a complete tall, dark and handsome guy... Why are all these short boys asking me out? Where are the tall ones for goodness sake!!
Back to reality:
***(Phone beeps again) it's still the same short Emeka...***
I picked up and screamed into the phone's speaker.
**Me:** Oh heavens!!! Leave me alone for crying out loud! I am not interested and I would never be interested in dating a short, fat boy. *(Sucks teeth and hangs up).*
*Good riddance!!*
Five years later.
***(Short Emeka gets married and is out of the country with his wife and three kids)***
The single me; who is now 35years old is still looking for the perfect man.
***The end.***
I stand to be corrected, but there's nothing like the perfect man, be it in character, heights, cuteness and all. A good and god-fearing heart is what one should watch out for.
In that short story, I saw the perfect man in my dream and the perfect man betrayed me just when I thought my life was having a little bit of honey innit. The dream I had was more or less like a warning and advice for me to give Emeka a chance, but I yielded not and that was because he was too short. I'm here now, single and unmarried at the age of 35, with no single suitor coming by.
Tall, short, chubby, fat, skinny. They are all humans and should be given a chance.
Tall, dark and handsome doesn't mean he's your own Mr Perfect. Your own Mr Perfect might just be a little bit shorter than you, who knows?. But because you've shut your eyes to the short ones, you just keep getting your heart broken over and over again.
Being tall, dark and handsome is just a plus, watch out instead, for a god-fearing man.
****Special appreciation:**** Thanks a whole lot @FashTioluwa for your sponsorship, I appreciate this and definitely won't take it for granted.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Time varies; don't despair.
Literally speaking, I had no prior idea to what I intended to draft as my today's article, this came directly from my personal experience, it's more like an advice to myself and to everyone out there.
Before I kick off. Join me once more; in admiring these lovely, awesome, sweetest and supportive great writers. I'm so lucky to have them as my sponsors.
`Three gbosas to my sponsors, I love you immensely and I'm so grateful for your loving show of support.`
Today's blog.
Time varies; don't despair.
****Time****
**the measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues**
Wikipedia
One of the causes of greed is jealousy or envy towards the progress of others. We sometimes forget that we might just not be meant to make it the same time or period our friend makes it.
Let's use nature as an example:
There are different seasons in a year and these seasons have their specific timing.
Autumn or fall.
Summer,
Spring
Winter
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3vs1
The sun has its time to shine, so does the moon. I don't know about you, but I've never seen the moon shining at twelve noon. Neither have I seen the sun shining in the night.
Everyone's timing is different.
Oh you didn't get admitted to college sooner, your friends are already in school and you're still trying to figure your life out.
You didn't get married at your planned date, whereas your school daughter back at college; is married already with two kids.
You've been married for the space of five years and yet no children to show for it,but your friends and younger sister have birthed their second child.
You wrote your exams a couple of times and failed, whereas your friend; who is not as brilliant as you are, wrote it at a go and made her papers.
You graduated with a first class degree, but even at that; you're there, jobless. Whereas your friend that barely crawled through school is already counting his salary in millions.
It could be difficult, wait; did I just say "could?." It is difficult, believe me; I know. I'm still here.
With the way I pictured my life, I should be wrapping up with my educational life by now, I mean; some of my mates have.
`There was a day I cried.`
**Why did I cry?**
*I saw one of my juniors, back in high school; in her matriculation gown. Don't misquote me, I was happy for her, but I was sad when I remembered the age I was; when I wore my own matriculation gown.*
This girl in quote is just 16years old and she has already entered a prestigious University called; **Obafemi Awolowo University** and I'm here, struggling in a ploytechnic, it was like a great slap to my face. I started wishing I had figured out my life in time, I started wishing I got admitted into a university instead.
You can never be late.
Patience is not simply the ability to wait – it’s how we behave while we’re waiting.”
Joyce Meyer.
During this waiting period of yours, don't despair, always remember that: in due time, it'll work out fine.
Don't weigh your friends achievements with that of yours.
Don't question your abilities all because your friend seems to be made
Just learn to smile and be happy.
Start learning these tips.
Learn to sincerely congratulate others.
Anytime that depressive feeling knocks on the door of your heart. Learn to remind yourself that you're good at what you do and that even if it's not now. You'll surely be who you've dreamed of someday.
Always wear a smiling face even in the face of challenges. This way, your heart and mind would start getting used to happiness.
****Learn Self motivation:**** Sometime last year, I was so tired of writing, infact I was at the edge of losing myself and that was because, people on my WhatsApp contact list left little or no feedbacks as regards my poems and all. I needed motivation from them. I needed to hear words like: ***"I love this poem" "this was inspiring" "what's the meaning of this poem"*** I also wanted to hear critiques like ***"you shouldn't have put a comma after that letter" "simile would have worked better in that phrase...."***
*I wanted feedbacks!!. Was that too much to ask? So I almost lost it, it was then one of my spiritual fathers told me: "Learn to motivate yourself, don't always wait for others to motivate you." These words sank in and since then. I tried my best to start motivating myself.*
****Congratulate yourself:**** Just learn to congratulate yourself, tell yourself sweet things, remind yourself of your previous accomplishment, always remind yourself that ***"this is a phase, that would soon be over."*** Tell yourself in, **"Mr Macaroni's voice"** ***"you're doing well."***
Whenever those worries starts triggering in, just smile and try to remember only good memories.
The wait might be long, but tell yourself this: ***"I'll get there."***
Learn not to feel bad if your friend makes it before you. Be happy and smile for your own day of celebration is soon to begin.
Always remember:
Time varies, don't despair.
Some people get married at the age of 25, and gets her kids within the space of a year.
Some, gets married at the same age but gets their kids within the space of six years.
Some; don't even conceive at all.
Serah in the Bible, conceived at the age of 90. ***(Way above menopause)***.
Some people; immediately they are done with school, they get their dream jobs, in their dream company.
While some have to wait for few years of movement, sweating and submitting curriculum vitaes' from one company to another before they finally gain employment.
In all, let's just patiently wait for our time, one of the reasons why you hear of "rituals in Nigeria" or "fraud" "killing" is basically because of greed and impatience and ofcourse lack of conscience.
One of the reasons why a best friend would go about "seducing her friend's" husband or boyfriend is jealousy and that jealousy is sometimes; triggered from impatience and despair.
Most people these days just want the results, they are not patient enough to wait for their own time.
Above all:
Time, they say; is money, so use your time well and use it wisely.
*It is here, I'll drop my pen. I'd be glad to read your beautiful comments, I'll love you hear your views on this.*
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.

Self-esteem. (2)
A review from the previous article.
In here, is the definition of self-esteem, the listed types of self-esteem and the explanation to the very first type. Which is "low self-esteem."
https://read.cash/@Ellawrites/self-esteem-1-ed424a3d
**Types of self-esteem.**
Low self-esteem.
High self-esteem.
Inflated self-esteem.
So today, we'll be discussing on the second and third types of self esteem.
****High self-esteem:**** Unlike low self-esteem, which refers to little or no confidence in oneself, high self-esteem is the complete opposite. High self-esteem means having so much confidence in yourself.
For those with this type of self-esteem.
They love their appearance,
They love they talents,
They are not intimidated by the successes of others,
They always speak up whenever they feel something has been outrightly said,
They are not scared of airing their views,
They are not scared of saying "no"
They believe in what they can do and they thrive to do it best.
They believe in themselves and in their abilities,
They are least worried about people's approvals;
They are goal getters,
They listen to constructive criticism,
They are always bold, without the fear of being judged by others.
They are always ready to learn and are never scared of asking questions even if it's stupid to others. That's the least of their worries.
They are proud of their looks,
Skinny, fat, thin, Chubby, dark, fair, white. They are so proud of it. They are satisfied with their looks even when they don't have flat tummies, even when they are of average heights, short or tall. They are still proud of their looks.
They believe In themselves and give themselves praises even if the world seems to be less concerned.
They love others just like they love themselves.
**Inflated self-esteem:**
People with inflated self-esteem tend to see themselves as better than others, they always tend to underestimate others.
Wikipedia.
This particular type of self-esteem is above normal, a negative self-esteem that would hardly ever allow you keep friends, almost like pride or ego.
They love themselves more than they love others.
In this term, they love themselves to the deterioration of others.
Inflated self-esteem is wrong to have and could sometimes lead one to a season of doom.
They care less about your talents, achievements or story, they are only interested in talking about themselves and themselves alone.
They are always too and way too confident in themselves.
They hardly ever accept that they are wrong.
They don't listen to constructive criticism.
They are full of themselves and they act way too pompous.
They feel they are far better than others.
I doubt if these kinds of people would link you up to opportunities that are beneficial to you...
I'll love you, to air your views on this.
****Apologies:****
I'm sorry I haven't replied your beautiful comments on my previous article. Presently, my phone battery is reading **3%**, I didn't plan to publish today, but I just had too, especially because I had already started drafting this article yesterday. I'll definitely reply all your wonderful comments to my previous article unfailingly; tomorrow.
This would be all for today dearest readers, see you in my next article and in yours.

Self-esteem. (1)
Self-esteem refers to the overall opinion of yourself and how you feel about your abilities and limitations.
Wikipedia
Self-esteem, simply put, refers to the level of confidence you have in yourself, the general sense of your self worth or value.
A person's favorable or unfavorable attitude towards themselves.
Morris Rosenberg
Self-esteem can be influenced by different factors such as genetics, thoughts, age, health, reactions gotten from others, but basically: "comparing self to others."
Just as we have factors influencing self-esteem, we also have three basic types of self-esteem, which are:
Low self-esteem.
High self-esteem.
Inflated self-esteem.
All of these self-esteem's listed above are quite common in our day to day living. Let's delve into its divers explanations, starting from the first.
****Low self-esteem:**** This is quite common in the world today, various people feeling bad about themselves for one reason or the other. Low self-esteem simply means having little or no confidence in yourself.
Not believing in yourself, your value,
feeling intimidated by the successes of others.
Feeling so bad about yourself or your appearance.
Not trusting in your abilities, talents or what you can do.
People who have low self-esteem are prone to always trying to please others even at their own expense, they have the tendency of not being able to resist or maintain their ground by saying ***"no"*** to things they are not pleased with. They think of others before thinking of themselves, not mincing words: ***"they love others, more than they love themselves."***
They always feel intimidated and keep agitating themselves with demeaning questions.
Am I good enough? Isn't my butt too small? Why do I have chubby cheeks? Oh! My tummy isn't flat, would they pick me? Is it good enough? My words are meaningless, why is there so much pimples on my face? Maybe I should go for an enlargement!. Oh! I feel so terrible, does my breath stink? Why did she leave her seat?, do I have body odour?...
Someone with low self-esteem is hardly ever outspoken. They are timid kinds of people because they fear that their opinions won't matter, they are scared of being laughed at, so they never try speaking up.
*I'm among this type, I won't deny it, maybe that's the reason why I have so much to say about it.*
Comparison is one of the greatest factors that affects the esteem of a person.
Comparing one sibling to another.
Comparing your child to another person's child.
Comparing the level of intelligence your child has to the level of intelligence of a different party.
Comparing yourself to another person (this is not a source of motivation in anyway). There's a difference between:
*Esther did it so well, I definitely should be able to do it if I study much more*
*And*
*Oh! Esther has done it again, and I'm just here, failing over and over again*.
Did you note the difference? The former is quite motivational, while the latter is a complete and toxic comparison.
Low self-esteem is really harmful to one's health, and could also lead someone into anxiety and depression, it could even lead the person into doing things that are way overboard. It could also lead one into commiting suicide.
**Ways** of overcoming low self-esteem.
Start affirming positive words.
Start saying pleasant things to yourself.
Surround yourself with people that would feed your ears with encouraging words.
Slowly desist from people of negative minds.
Close your eyes to those depressing things you see on the media, close your ears to those depressing things you hear from people, places and the media, close your mouths to negatively and open the door for only positivity.
Create a timetable to say different lovely words to yourself every morning and before you sleep.
Learn to say no...
*No, to things you're not okay with.*
*No, to people's negative opinions.*
*No, to your own negative opinions about yourself.*
*No, to anything that stands against your happiness and fulfilment*.
I would have written on the other types of self-esteem's, but this is lengthy enough. I'd pick up from this in my tomorrow's article.
***Thanks dearest readers, feel free to air your views as regards the chosen topic.***
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
**Thanks for reading.**
Farting in presence of your spouse.
**Fart**, according to Wikipedia is also referred to as flatulence and it's the intestinal wind that's passed from the anus.
Just today, I reminisced on a conversation I had with a person I take as a sister. The conversation left me in a state of wonder. I kept wondering if I should just try to adapt and start learning, honestly speaking; I don't just know why I'm so different.
It's not like I'm trying to form, or I'm probably just acting like a fine girl, but the truth is that: It irritates me whenever I hear a person talking so freely about farting or pooing, everyone poops, it's natural. But the truth is that, I just hate talking about it.
I could recall an experience I had in school, that day I badly wanted to poop, like..., I really wanted to, the school toilets aren't that good so I opted for a toilet within the boundaries of the school but not owned by the school.
To use this toilet, you have to pay for it.
****To wee:**** 50naira.
****To poop:**** 100naira.
When I got there, I met a queue of people, some wanted to do the same as I, while the others just wanted to relieve their bladders. The owner started questioning; asking each of us what we actually wanted to do. You should have seen me that day, the way I said the **"I want to poo"** I tried pronouncing it in a coded way but the owner of the place spoke pidgin and people heard: **"oh you wan sheet?"**
Arrgg, must you be this difficult? I rhetorically asked myself. Truth is I was quite embarrassed and when I finally went in, I was so scared and hoping it doesn't smell the way it usually smell.
The conversation I had.
In her words, she said: she wonders how people who can't fart in presence of their spouses cope, she recalled to me; something she read on one of her social media accounts. A question was asked; a question about farting in presence of your spouse, in one of the reader's comment. The woman had said; "she can't fart in her husband's presence, that if she feels the urge to fart, she'll go to the toilet to fart and if her husband feels the urge, he also does the same."
**In my sister's words:** How boring?!.
When she told me that, I just affirmed with a slight chuckle. I didn't know what to say, but the truth is, I actually picture having such kind of play with my spouse, you know, being so close to him to the extent of farting in his presence and laughing at eachother's fart.
**But can I really do it?**
I had to do some research today about this topic.
According to science, when you fart in presence of your wife/husband.
The couples might be happier and healthier.
Farting might seem uncouth and gross, infact it's a kind of rude or crude behavior. But I read that couples shouldn't shy away from; or feel ashamed of passing gas in presence of each other.
Also, today I learnt that; holding in farts can cause bad breath. Trapped intestinal gas can be reabsorbed into the bloodstream only to reemerge as bad breath.
Farts is a means of telling your spouse that you're healthy.
Farting is actually good for you, it may not be part of good manners but it's a symptom of healthy diet. If one doesn't fart and doesn't also hold it in (doesn't fart at all) it just shows they aren't eating healthy and they are just eating refined sugars.
**Farts are funny:** yeah, truly it is, as for me, we have various kinds of farts. The silent one, the loud one..., People do say the silent one has the worse kind of smell, but the loud ones rarely smells. Imagine you, giving your spouse different odour from your farts, with both of you laughing over it. (Isn't that funny?).
Farts is a way of telling your spouse **"I love you."**
Farting has different causes; which most of you all know, the intake of too much eggs, beans and so much more, but that's not my reason for this topic.
Is it okay to be disgusted when you hear someone talking so freely about passing gas, pooing and the likes?.
You know, sometimes I imagine being able to fart in presence of my spouse, and then the big question comes up: How Can I be that free with him?
I can't even fart in presence of any of my brothers, neither can they fart in my presence. Let me share a funny experience with y'all.
I was alone in the room one day, I had the urge to pass gas, since no one was within sight, I quickly allowed nature take its course. After awhile, I heard my brother's footstep, I was so scared *(not like he would beat me, but I was just scared)* the smell hadn't cleared off yet. I had to stop him, so to do that; I immediately stepped out to meet him and started asking him irrelevant questions, he had to stand back to reply me. After sometime when there was no question left to ask, he entered the room with me following behind while sniffing to see If the odour had cleared off. Oh! Yes it had!
I was satisfied!.
The only person I feel so confident; farting in her presence is my mum.
I could recall a period of time, when I went to stay for a week in my employer's house, based on some reasons I'd rather not discuss. But I went. Oh! That period was far from being funny.
I badly wanted to poo, but I didn't know how to go ahead with it. The stench that comes from my poo is not in this world. So I was scared of doing it and scared of them, perceiving it.
Guys... I kept it in, till I left their place a week later. Oh!, How relieved I was to finally be in the comfort of my own WC.
With the way I am, I wonder if I'll be so free with my spouse.
I would love to know your take on this.
Do you feel it's normal to fart in presence of your spouse?
And for those who just might not like it, do you feel they should try and change or do you perhaps feel it's okay for them to remain that way?
**Kindly air your views on this; readers. I'm anticipating your wonderful answers**.
This would be all for today, till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.

God's love.
Happy Palm Sunday to each and everyone of you.
Before i continue, I'd like to chip this in.
My yesterday's article: does-money-change-people-9e9e7d0 believe me when I say this; the replies were educative. Infact, I almost lost my own personal belief as regards the discussed topic, (maybe I actually did). https://read.cash/@Ellawrites/does-money-change-people-9e9e7d04
Some; were of the opinion that money indeed changes people.
While some; were of the opinion that money reveals the character that was jailed by poverty.
After analyzing all these, I came to strike a balance in-between and it goes thus:
Based on the circumstance of the story involved.
Money can change some people. (Very correct) money can make some people do certain things.
And for some other reasons too, money can also reveal ones true identity. (Very correct also).
I really appreciate those people who aired their views and opinions on my last article, believe me when I say this: ***I*** ***really learnt massively from the contributions you all made.***
Now, let's delve into the article for today, but before then, join me in admiring my beautiful sponsors.
You should check out their lovely
articles, three gbosas to my
Extremely supportive sponsors. ✊✊✊
Today's blog.
I decided to write something based on my religion today, and here is one of my most favorite topics.
God's love.
John chapter 3vs16 states:
***For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, and whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.***
The love God has for the world is so mighty; mighty indeed, he gave out his only son to be persecuted for our sins.
Some people do feel like their life have no meaning, probably due to something they did or maybe due to a crime they committed. They feel worthless, spurned, pushed aside, meaningless, useless... they feel the world has turned its' back against them. They feel so alone.
But well;
This is just a cheerful reminder that there's someone up there who still loves and cherishes you, no matter what offense you committed. He's God and he loves you either ways.
Let's cheer on, for in few days from now, we'll be commemorating the resurection of Jesus Christ from the dead (Easter).
In all you do.
Even if the world seems to be against you.
Even if you are against yourself.
Even if you feel so terrible about yourself, or you feel you've done the most unforgivable thing ever, just always remember that there's a God up there; whose love is so unconditional.
He loves you in and out, no matter what ever you feel you've done. If not for the love he has for us, he would have saved his son (Jesus) from being persecuted by the same people he wanted to save. God would have rescued his son to free him (Jesus) from the tribulations he faced. But the love God has for the world is so massive, that he held back and allowed a good will to be done.
Someone said in a spoken word poem.
***Who's man?***
The last in God's creation, but the first in his decision.
So always remember: ***God loves you.***
**Congratulatory message to myself:** Dear read stars, I got a notification today, stating that I've reached 1001 views.

Does money change people?.
I saw a picture while I swiped through people's WhatsApp statuses today, it stated.
Money doesn't change people... It unlocks character and attitude that has been jailed by poverty.
This statement got me wondering for some moment.
Could this be true?.
Or maybe in some cases and not all cases.
I'm here now, here to voice out my answers.
Does money change a person.
When I say change, I don't mean the physical kind of change, money would definitely change a tattered looking person into a clean and neat person. It would definitely change ones appearance, except the person just doesn't want to spend his/her money to look good.
The change I mean; has been stated at the beginning.
Character.
Attitude.
You'll agree with me that when one is actually poor or not doing well financially, one might tend to be really, really humble.
With the exception of some other people: Not all poor people are humble, some still tend to show out their real attitude or character.
I've seen this.
Those poor people; after they've become so wealthy.
Some; decides to change and starts riding others, forgetting when they were in need and how an helper came forth.
Forgetting that it was also an human being that picked them up from the slum to reshape them into better beings.
The second are the ones, even after they become rich.
They still maintain their good and generous heart. Oh yes we have these kinds too.
But I'm not here to write about the latter kinds. I'm here to write about the former.
**The ones that suddenly change towards others, once they become rich.**
Most people usually say, it's money that changed them. When they were poor, they were always good to others, they were always respectful, nice and generous. When they were poor, they were this... They were that...
Were they really changed by money or they had always had it in them, but poverty hid it so perfectly well?
Oh yes! That's just it. My belief is that: ***"money can't change people, it can only change your physical looks and other material things."***
Money only unlock those character and attitude that poverty kept hidden for so long.
Someone who was so humble when he/she was poor, suddenly becomes rich and changes so much to the extent of looking down on people, shouting at people and just talking anyhow to people.
That character was there, it has always been there.
That attitude was there, it has always been there.
But the poverty kept it hidden all along.
When money finally showed its' face. It suddenly became something else.
I know of a person who is the most humble person in the world whenever he's broke or has little or nothing. His family members would always be there to render help and assistance to him during those trying times, but once that money comes. His attitude suddenly changes.
Today he went to drink,
The next day, he has an argument with his wife and sends her out of the house.
Another day, he's insulting his children all because they requested money from him to do a thing or another.
That same day, he insults his children's mother before finally giving them the money they requested for...
Another day again, he calls all his children, seat them down for hours; reminding them of the mistakes they did some months, weeks or years back.
Oh, and so much more...
Now, after he successfully squanders all the money he has, he becomes so humble and sober once again, his wife who pities him would come back again, trying to support, trying to gather few things together... Just to lend an helping hand to her husband.
He's so humble, he plays nice, plays calm, plays sweet till he gets his own money again and then the scenario repeats itself over and over again...
People are like this and that's the truth, I just don't know if it's appropriate to say: ***"some people are not created for wealth."*** Because when it comes, they end up misusing it and using it against people around them, even people who stayed through thick and thin with them.
Money reveals ones true identity.
****Closing Remarks:**** It's awesome to always not be influenced by the things we have right now, making sure that the material things we have should be used well and not to the deterioration of others.
This would be all. Till we meet again In my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Musophobia.
I would have drafted and published quite earlier, but writers block really feasted in my brains today. I'm literally just coming up with something.
Something random popped in just now, it really got my fingers moving speedily.
I decided to write about my fear of mice or rats, household rodents.
I actually wanted to just write out:
**The fear of rats.**
But then, I knew it will definitely be a phobia, @Bilqees made me understand this. This little knowledge I gained from the aforementioned name, made me surf the internet to get a better glimpse of what type of ***phobia*** it's called.
**Musophobia**
Google defined it as a fear of rodents. People with musophobia are no fans of rodents infestation or problems within the house.
Truth be told, I feel so agitated whenever I see these rodents. I have so many experiences to buttress on this.
*Oh! You really need to see me shaking whenever I see a wall gecko, there was a day I saw it in my room. I had to leave the room to sleep in the living room that day*.
I was trying to look into the eyes of a rat, few months back, I tried to love it since someone told me they were cute, but then I could actually bare it no more. I ran away.
My experiences:
There was a day I saw a rat in my former place of residence, oh! That day I wanted to prove myself to be finally bold. So I followed the rat right until it went behind a carton. Immediately, I used my fist to punch through the carton; the rat to the wall and it died indeed. I checked to confirm, I celebrated my victory. It was a win at last. (I was 17years old then) here comes the big part for me:
I had killed the rat (something I've never done in my life).
But who would pick up the rat to trash it out?.
Now, that was the big question.
Oh! Thank goodness my dad was around. Me to my dad.
**Me:** Daddy there's a rat behind that carton.
**My Dad:** Okay! Kill it.
**Me:** I've killed it already.
**My Dad:** So why are you telling me about it?, Have you trashed it?.
**Me:** No, I have not. Please help me trash it. *(I did that babyish face, lol, I do that mostly when I want someone to do my bidding, the person would actually look at my face and just wouldn't be able to say no. Except the person is just trying to be vile. Lol).*
I don't know how it happened, but unusually, my dad agreed and helped me trash it.
Second experience:
I wasn't home for a whole week, so when I got back home, I was doing my chores, and oh no! I perceived the smell of a dead rat. In my room!! Oh! Of all places, why must it be in my room?!!.
I had to get rid of it, so I searched my room and finally saw the dead rat, a really small dead rat.
Immediately I saw it;
I located a chair,
Sat down and went deep into thought,
What was I thinking about?
I was mind-rehearsing how I would get a broom, get a dustpan, bend down, use the broom to push the dead rat into the dustpan, walk to the door, open it, go outside and trash it out.
I stayed there for seconds, seconds turned minutes. I would go to the living room, pick up the broom and dustpan, come back to my room, look at the tiny rat, grumble again and start lamenting.
I cried, yes, I actually cried that day at the thought of having to dispose the dead rat. Daddy was not around this time around. I was left all alone.
I really, really cried.
But over 30minutes later, with pacing back and forward. I summoned up courage, went towards the door, opened it wide, put on my nose mask, picked up the broom and dustpan, walked towards the rat, bent down, closed my eyes, tilted my face away a bit and hastily used the broom to push it into the dustpan.
I was satisfied.
I opened my eyes a bit so I won't use my face to hit the wall. I walked hastily outside and quickly disposed the dead rat.
Sighs...
It was that easy!
`I can't be the only one on this table right? Who else has musophobia?`

They are watching.
You'll agree with me that parenting is a really vast topic that has so many broad meanings to it.
Different children, with different behaviors.
Different parents with different techniques on proper upbringing of their wards.
There was a short video clip I saw today, I'm sure some of you might have seen it, oh!, I'd have loved to post the video here, but just too bad there's no link to it and that's because I viewed it from a WhatsApp status.
What was the video about?
Four Indian people were seated. From the looks of it and the happy expression they wore on their faces, one could tell that they were having an amusing conversation.
Two; from this four were couples, and the other two were also couples. The little child of one of the couples', came over to them with a girl. (She should be the other couple's daughter).
****Here was the short discussion they had.****
**Little boy's name:** Adithya.
**Little girl's name:** Manya.
**Adithya:** Papa, I'm getting married.
**All, except Adithya and Manya:** (laughs hysterically).
**Manya's mum:** (exclaims) oh my God!
**Adithya's mum:** What's all these?
**Adithya:** Me and Manya are getting married.
**Adithya's mum:** Adithya go inside and play.
**Manya's Dad:** And what would you do after getting married?
**Adithya:** I will wake up in the morning and be ready like my father
**All, but Adithya and Manya:** (sighs in content)
**Manya's Dad:** And then?
**Adithya:** Manya will give me my bag and I'll go to the office.
**All, but Adithya and Manya:** (laughs)
**Adithya continues:** And I'll sign so many papers and will get lots of money.
**Manya's Dad:** What will you do when you come home?
**Adithya:** Then I'll beat her.
*The atmosphere suddenly changes; with both parents wearing a surprised look, their humorous faces suddenly becomes gloomy.*
**Adithya continues:** And I will close the door fastly and sleep.
*The little girl Adithya said he would marry, suddenly interrupts trying to correct him for omitting something.*
**Manya:** No... No... Before you go to sleep, I will serve you food and you'll throw the plate angrily.
**Adithya:** (receives correction and says) Okay.
The video ended with this:
*These kids grow up and believe it's okay to violate women.*
***Light fades...***
Summary:
*Adithya and Manya would have observed how their parents treat eachother. Adithya must have seen how his father gets ready for work in the morning, takes his bag from his mother, goes to work and comes back home; only to beat his mother.*
So from this illustration;
*Adithya felt it was very much okay to beat a woman, and Manya also agreed to this because she would have seen her parents doing such to eachother.*
Why the story?
Though the video was staged, there was a message those Indians were trying to pass across and it very plain:
They are watching.
Yes, our children are watching us, the way we treat our wives, the way we treat our husbands. Except being told otherwise or if they learn otherwise as they age, they'll definitely grow up to believing that it's right to be violent to a woman.
One of the reasons why some men find pleasure in beating up their wives at the slightest provocation is basically because they grew up having to see their father doing such to their mother.
There was something I heard sometime back, a man was claiming that the best way to discipline a wife is by beating her. That for nagging wives or wives that complains alot, the only way to keep them quiet is by beating them. R**eally!!.**
Let's be cautious with the things we do or say around our children.
Children of nowadays are way too smart, the way they read meanings to things, the way they understand the things we do, is just so overwhelming.
Sighs...
*This would be all for today, till we see again in my next article and in your next article.*

Strict parents; yay or nay?

**Today's blog:**
Strict parents; yay or nay?
This question popped up from basically my experience with having to live with a strict father.
**Google defined strict parents as parents who place high standards and demands on their children.**
Basically, some parents become unusually strict to their children when:
****They feel insecure:**** The fear their children having to make some mistakes.
****They are just too disciplined:**** They can be authoritative or authoritarian, depending on the parents’ disciplinary beliefs and responsiveness to their child’s needs.
****High expectations:**** Some parents, probably because of their background or the way they were brought up or trained have so much high expectations of their children. A movie I saw, few days back **"Christopher Robin"** explains how Christopher had so much expectation from his little Madeline"
****Fear of being seen as incompetent.****
My dad was the strict kind of father and from my experience with him, I can boldly come out to say all these:
I was never free with him.
At a point I became so scared of him. Infact it would seem like he should just be sleeping at work, and be communicating to us through the phone.
His; being strict actually yielded little or no result to me, but for my mother's leniency which really helped me alot.
I couldn't even sit to talk to him. For every little thing, for everytime I did something wrong and there was no cane in sight, it's either my dad uses chain for the generator, shoe, belt, iron, stool. Lol, just name anything he sees around at that particular time.
Some of my Nigerian sisters might be able to relate to this particular one:
It became hard to be seen walking on the street with a boy. If someone saw me and mistakenly lets my dad in on the information... Help me shout this: **"Ella, you're dead!!."**
So much more, but I'll stop there.
When I was teaching, there was one thing I noticed about young children; they are watching you, they observe, being kids doesn't mean they won't remember your ill treatment towards them.
If one is quite wicked to them, you'll see the fear on their faces. There was this girl I once taught, her name is Zion. I do shout at her anytime she pees on herself. She does this alot when she's asleep.
On that fateful day:
Zion slept as usual; with her head on the table and peed on her uniform, when I saw this, I quietly went over to where she was and woke her up. Immediately Zion was awake and aware of her surrounding, she looked into my eyes and bursted into tears. She knew what she had done already and she knew I'd shout. She cried and cried. And lol, I'm very playful around kids. I did act like I was upset. After which I had to pet her.
Why did I use that story as a brief illustration?
Children hardly ever forget what you do to them and your level of strictness towards them, would determine if they'll be free around you even to the point of voicing out their words or feelings.
**I've told myself this:** I'll make sure I'm so free with my children, I'll play with them, I'll scold them, but I'll try my best to make sure I'm not too strict.
I'll try my best to be lenient and still somewhat strict.
Not too hot, not too cold, after all too much of everything is bad.
Being strict isn't bad, but being too strict is just too much.
A child easily voices out his/her feeling to a parent he/she is free with.
A child would see his/her parents, not just as parents, but as their friends and confidant.
A child could also boldly walk up to their parents to seek advice.
It helps in building a child's self-esteem.
This would be all for today. My take on this is: **Be strict, but be lenient too, don't be too much of any.** Too much of everything is bad. `So be strict fully caring.` Lol, if there's anything like that.
`I'll still love to hear your opinion about this.`
Thanks for reading.

Let only the good words stay.

`Thank you! Thank you! Thank you all for making me smile.`
Today's blog.
Something happened today and it got me really wondering how some human beings really behave. What happened kind of affirmed the fact that some vile things, starts from a foundation.
A brief introduction.
I'm presently an office clerk; working in an agent company. My job there is to;
walk around in search of houses for sale or lease; making sure all informations as regards the houses I find is written down.
And after this first process, if a client comes and he needs a house, my job again is to actually;
go through those house contacts or addresses I've written down;
find out if they are still available, the price according to my client's budget, the condition of the house; according to my client's taste, and the location of the house; according to my client's preferences.
If I have in my record book; what he wants. I'll go ahead to affirm this to him, but before I take him out for inspection. He must fill a form.
Back to my experience:
So today, after the client had done the aforementioned, we both walked to the house for inspection. While walking, we engaged in a conversation. That was when he said:
**Client:** I want to build my house too this year. So maybe when I want to buy land, I'll come to your company.
**Me:** (enthusiastic) Oh! Okay Sir, you want the land to be situated around this area right?
**Client:** Yes, I want it to be in this area, not too far away from here. (Pauses and continues) it's not everything that you have to tell your boss, when I want to buy the land, you can do it yourself and pocket the money. I worked as a civil servant too, it's not everything I tell my boss, there are some transactions I'd keep to myself. So if I want to buy land, there's no need for you to tell your boss, just keep that one for yourself in addition to your salary.
**Me:** (sighs in pretentious acceptance) Hmm, okay Sir (mistakenly kicks a stone, almost tripping off).
**Client's brother:** (from the back) careful ooh, you see. If you have aeroplane now, you won't be kicking stones.
**Me:** (laughs in pretentious acceptance)
**Client:** (affirming to what his brother said) Yes now, you won't kick stones, so just start it, ehn. You don't need to tell your boss everything.
**Me:** (sighs in pretentious acceptance) Hmm...
That short dialogue was the summary of what triggered this article, I basically reacted that way because I wanted to keep it flowing, act like what he was saying was right and just ignore his words. I know I wouldn't do that even if I find myself in a different organization, it's called ***"stealing,"*** no matter the term used to package it.
Vile things starts from a foundation.
Words are seeds. If we look at it from another angle:
A greedy person would; after listening to the client above, change his perspective.
A greedy person might; because of such words deviate from honesty and loyalty to dishonesty and unfaithfulness.
Of a truth, what the man said was completely true, I could perform any transaction without my boss's notice. She wouldn't know, and I'll keep making my money off her company, but isn't this stealing?.
****Conclusion:**** Sometimes, the words we decide to listen to, forms an hole in our hearts and it makes us do unreasonable things. We'll always hear things, both the negative instructions and the positive instructions. We just need to choose wisely; the kind of words we allow to linger on in our hearts.
Honestly, it's at this point I thought of the topic, I initially had no idea of what topic to use or what to even write on.
*I still don't even know if the topic is befitting, my phone is presently hanging.*
Thanks for reading.

My phone hardly ever leaves my bag.
This isn't a motivational article or a story, not an advice of any sort, but this is just me; explaining my reason for doing a particular thing.
Back in the days of yore, I loved holding my phone in my hands, my mum would always tender her complaint against me for always chatting on the road. I saw nothing wrong in holding phones while walking and indeed there's nothing wrong in doing so. I'm only here to share my experience of phone theft. Now; that day was an hell of a **comic-tragedy.**
The story:
It happened on one of the night's in the early months of the year; **"2019"** I was on my way home.
Why was I walking in the night?.
I was a teacher then, I taught in a private school and after school closes, I usually go, teaching few students in their various places of residence ***(home lesson teacher).***
**Sighs...** Indeed I was making my money, not from teaching in school but atleast for teaching in various homes. There was this house in which my brother and I taught in. The issue with them was that the children attended an expensive private school in my previous area. They usually followed their school bus; which conveys them to school and back home.
To concise the lengthy story; their lateness affected my timing, I'd wait for hours sometimes before they get back home, after which they'll still shower and eat first before I can attend to them. Thus I always ended up going home pretty late.
On that day...
I was with my phone in my hands, (not chatting, but just holding my phone like every normal person would) passing a sort of quiet, dark street and boom!, Someone tapped my palm in a very violent way, and immediately; the phone fell off to the floor. After this happened, another guy picked it up and they were about to run off, I caught by his shirt; the guy that picked up my phone and started shouting:
**Me:** Jesus! Jesus! Give me my phone, give me my phone, Oh God!.
It was like a dream to me, I'd only heard about it, I had never witnessed it prior to that day. So I was bemused and expressionesly speechless. I didn't know what to do next, I thought I was dreaming. (Oh! I wish someone was taking a secret video of me that day, y'all would have laughed). The guy yanked his shirt and himself off my grip and they all took to their heels. Silly me, I left my hand bag and the left leg of my pair of slippers, using my left naked foot and right covered foot to chase after them. Screaming at the top of my voice.
**Me:** Ole!!, Ole!!!. (Which means "thief").
Now, the most embarrassing thing that happened to me that night was that no one from the streets joined me in my rants, they all went their way; minding their businesses, and to worsen it all, the thieves were also shouting **"Ole!!."**
That day wasn't funny at all, I cried and cried till my eyes became swollen. But the funny part was, the next day when I narrated the incident to my colleague at work. Yeah! I laughed.
Ever since then, I got scared of holding my phone in my hands, I prefer keeping it in my bag and tightly holding unto my bag.
................................................................
Another reason was basically because it's easy to get your phone's screen broken, cause you might just be walking on road, stumble on a stone and almost fall. It's easier for you to loose grip of your phone which could result to it getting cracked. (This was what happened to my friend's phone).
With the insecurities going on in Nigeria, it has even become somewhat hard for one to operate his/her phones in commercial buses. With thieves lurking around, waiting for the perfect time to strike and that's mostly when there's traffic jam.
One happened right by my side. I was heading to school that morning **"6am"** to be precise, a girl sat close to the window, I sat next to the girl and a guy sat next to me. The girl that sat close to the window had her earpiece stuffed into her ears, but her phone wasn't in her hands, she had it in her bag, while she listened on.
I, on the other hand was just focusing on practically nothing and for the guy, oh well I'd type that now.
Traffic jam:
There was a little traffic jam at **Iyanaipaja,** when the guy next to me brought out his phone to quickly text someone I guess... From the texture of the phone, it actually looked brand-new, immediately he brought it out and started typing, something strange happened. An hand was stretched through the window, this stretched hand actually brushed the girl by the window, brushed me and then snatched the phone off the man's grip. The hand passed us again and the phone was gone. The guy besides me was stuck in awe. It was too late. The thief had run off. Everyone in the bus were talking about the incident till I alighted.
Something you should know:
That day, just right before the incident happened, I initially wanted to bring out my phone, but something held me back. I just had the urge not to try it and thank goodness I obeyed!.
**After that incident.**
I hardly ever brought out my phone when in commercial buses, I only did; if the bus was moving at a fast pace and if what I need to do with my phone is urgent and requires my immediate attention.
****Conclusion:**** Holding of phones, while walking on the road isn't really bad, neither is; making use of your phones in buses bad, but for safety precautions. I decided to put a limit to it. Just sharing an experience of mine and my reason why.
****Special Appreciation:**** Yippie! I've got a new sponsor whose articles are top-notch. Check out his page. @Talon thanks for trusting me on this.

Write, immediately the inspiration comes.
Happy Sunday to we all.
I'm not entirely sure as to what time this would be published, but checking my watch; it reads **3:53am**, I know for a fact that I'll be posting this later in the night. Lol, what could you be thinking presently? That I didn't sleep? Oh no!. Actually, I did sleep... I had a plan to publish my previous already typed and saved in my draft article by **12am** this morning, only for Me to sleep by 10pm and wake up by **2am.** (I sure wasn't happy about that) but yeah, that's why I'm still awake.
Now, let's delve into what today's article is all about.
There's a reason for that short illustration in the first paragraph, but I'll come back to it later.
**What's inspiration:**
****Dictionary defined it as****: A new idea, especially one which arises suddenly and is clever or creative. Take note of the words: **especially one which arises suddenly.**
The topic: **"Write, immediately the inspiration comes"** also came as an inspiration and that's presently why; instead of charging my phone (7%) now that there's light, I'm rather typing, so I don't forget what I intended to write.
If you're walking on the road and you see something that triggers your fingers to immediately write about it. Jot it down somewhere, write few words about it so you don't forget later on. Yeah, I know you're on the road and you might not want to bring out your book and pen, but atleast you could quickly open the notebookapp on your phone and jot one or two about what you intend to later write about. This has really been of great help to me ever since I knew this theory. Many at times I'll feel like I'm too busy to jot down, I'll definitely get back to it later; probably when my hands are idle. And boom!! While trying to get back to it later on, I realized it has been wiped out from my memory (forgotten) then I say to myself:
**Me:** (thinks deeply) but that would have been a brilliant topic, Oh! Ella! Why did you forget, remember, remember!...
You could be in a bus, you could be talking to someone, you could be on the road; walking, you could be really busy with doing things, you could be in church, in class... Once the inspiration about a thing comes, jot it down, you might not jot all you feel but atleast jot down something about it. Something that is enough to make you remember when you finally want to get back to it.
It could be an idea for a business plan.
It could be an inspiration for a song.
It could be a topic for an article, poem, prose or drama.
It could just be a statement.
It could be about something you want to tell a person later on.
It could be anything...
Someone told me that; as a writer, you must always carry along with you; your writing materials, because the inspiration can come in anytime and from anywhere. Lol, I remember sometime last year.
**She asked me:** Ma'am could you lend me a pen?
**I replied:** I didn't take it along ma'am.
**She looked at me and said these words rhetorically:** And you are a writer?!, So if the idea to write about something; comes in suddenly, how would you jot it down? Don't you know that you're supposed to always be with your pen and book?.
**Me to myself:** Hello! This is the 21st century, technology has drastically taken over, I could always use my phone. (Which is what I normally do).
She's right in her own way and in her own perspective. Some writers prefer the book and pen method. I also prefer it, but for the fact that after writing on a book, I'll still type it all out. "Naah, that stress is not for me, I prefer using my phone."
****Conclusion:**** The time on my watch presently reads: **11:43pm**, I started writing by **3:53am** in the morning and I'm just concluding all I wrote. I started the concluding paragraph this night after writing the other paragraphs in the morning.
I started in the morning to save me from forgetting.
Write immediately the inspiration comes.
Don't wait for later, oh! You could wait for later if you're the type that hardly ever forgets a thing.
I'm already feeling drowsy, my bed is beckoning on me already so I guess I need to answer its' call.
Happy New week to you all, may this week be fruitful and awesome... It'll cause us to smile and be glad. Whatever good; we've set out to do in this new week shall yield good fruits. Our stepping into the week is blessed.
**Sighs...**
Thanks for reading.
Don't delay in implementing your ideas.
What's an idea?
An idea is a mental activity; a thought, a notion; a way of thinking**.**
An idea is a plan for doing something, an intention to do something, a conception in the mind for something to be done. (Definition gotten from the dictionary).
Just as it has been defined: an idea is just a plan to do something, a mere thought or notion about someone or something. Having an idea doesn't entirely makes it yours. Don't be surprised when you find out that someone else also has your supposed idea in mind.
It's one thing to think and it's another thing to act.
Thinking and sleeping on an idea can be quite dangerous, let me share a story to buttress more on this:
***Disclaimer:*** The story I'm about to share is not mine, I read it on the net and decided to share.
**Does it upset you when you have a business idea and find that someone else has already done the exact same thing**
Answered May 5, 2016 https://www.quora.com/Does-it-upset-you-when-you-have-a-business-idea-and-find-that-someone-else-has-already-done-the-exact-same-thing/answers/22363252
Yes, it does. Here is my experience, There is a college ground in my home town where people go for daily morning walk, the crowd is 500+ daily.
I have discussed with my friend to start a lemon juice stall near the entrance. The juice is very useful for the digestion if we drink it in the morning hours. We thought of implementing the idea, we went there to check the premises and we have confirmed the spot which will be accessible to more people, that spot doesn't need any permission to setup stall. On the very next day, we went to check the crowd and get an approximate count. We had a shock of our life time, There is a lemon juice stall placed where exactly we thought of setup our stall.
Anyways we have dropped the idea for sometime and started working on some other exciting ideas. Now, don't want to delay any further in implementation.
From the short story above, you'll understand that: "having a brilliant idea is just not enough, your idea has also been conceived in the mind of others.
****Anonymous:**** Oh! I have a brilliant business idea!, I want to build a big factory where the production of tiles would be carried out, but let me just hold on for awhile, let me be fully settled before I work on it.
A year later
****Anonymous 2:**** (already an owner of a big factory producing tiles).
****Anonymous:**** (sees this on the news and sighs in disbelief) but this was my idea!.
Hello!!!, I don't feel it was your idea, it also came as an idea to the second anonymous.
`My idea could be your idea, your idea could be someone else's idea, someone else's idea could be another person's idea.`
So what makes the difference?.
**Implementation!**
If Charles Babbage didn't invent computer, the truth is that someone else would have.
If Mark Zuckerberg didn't start WhatsApp or Facebook, the truth is that someone else would have.
If Thomas Edison didn't invent lightbulbs, of a truth; someone else would have.
The difference here is, they worked on their idea, they didn't sit back waiting for the perfect time. When I started writing on read, I had an idea to write on procrastination, I hesitated for awhile and boom! Two days later, I read **my idea** as someone's article. It was so similar to the way I wanted to write mine.
God also had the idea to make man, and he said: "Let us make man in our own image." After this; it was implemented.
Ideas could either be positive or negative. It's also an idea to steal, it's also an idea to lie. I'm quite sure it was someone's idea to start laundering money from people.
Someone definitely started Yahoo... And others followed.
Many more, an idea could be positive or negative. Just pick out the positive ones and implement them.
Imagine having a dream, and in that dream you owned an house, you bought a car, and you were a CEO of your own company.
You wake up with full smiles on your face, seeing yourself as the boss. You decide to keep imagining without planning. Sleeping without working and **'lo and behold'** you expect your dream to walk right through your door while you lazy back to welcome it. (Laughs) okay then, keep up the good work.
Work on your ideas or someone else would beat you to it.
In whatever profession or career you've chosen to delve into: be it, music, fashion, health and lifestyle, hairstyling... Amongst all others. Once an idea to do something in a different way pops into your mind... Swing immediately into action.
Thanks for reading.

Read = write.
Read = Write.
Learn = teach.
You'll be wondering why I wrote those words in that way. Fact and the truth is that: you basically can't write efficiently, if you don't read; just as you can't teach if you don't learn.
You must not forget the process.
There's a common quote that's still widely used, the quote states: **"readers are leaders."** It's just three words, but it carries in it; deep meanings.
To be great, you must read,
To pass a test, you must read,
To know or learn about something, you must read,
To understand something, you must read.
And to write more efficiently, you must read...
To teach a person well, you must learn by either reading or by paying attention when you're being taught.
A summary of what led me into writing this.
Lately, I've been trying so hard to communicate properly without making mistakes when speaking. My writings are slowly becoming prone to so many mistakes and errors. Funny enough; I know the reason and it's because I've stopped reading. I've not been reading much of books for awhile now and it's not helping matters at all. I bet if I go back to some of my old articles, (not on read, but on Facebook and Instagram) I would ask myself this question: **can I still use my part of speech and figures of speech well enough?.**
With that short illustration up there, I've come to realize that, to be a proficient writer, you just have to read, and keep reading. Learn more, understand more, keep reading and it will show in your writing.
What I noticed.
I actually noticed that whenever i successfully read a book to the end, my Grammer in English takes a new turn, it improves in ways I don't understand. Especially when the book I read contains alot of words I had no idea of.
In plain terms; it was when I read a book: ***"Redeeming love by Francine Rivers"*** that I saw for the first time; words like:
Perspiration.
Rummaging
Surfing
Scavenging
Lewd
Spiralling... And so much more, infact; hardly would I read a page of that book without jotting down words I know nothing of. Immediately I finished reading ***"Redeeming love"*** the inspiration to write a poem on ***"Poetic life"*** zoomed in.
Reading broadens and improves your knowledge on vocabulary. Through reading, you might just be able to place your words right.
It enhances your thinking faculty.
It helps you understand more about a topic, test, book or project.
It is a form of acquiring knowledge.
Good books helps in improving on your writing skills.
A quick one:
I remember when I was in the teaching business, I would have no idea whatsoever about the topic to be taught in class the next day,(sometimes) whenever I read on it, I find and see myself teaching with so much ease. And even the scholars easily assimilates all what I taught them.
Thanks a whole lot for your support.
****Special Appreciation:**** I'm grateful and honored to have a new sponsor, @Olasquare thanks for trusting me on this and I hope not to let you down... I'm grateful for your sponsorship.
****Closing Remarks:**** To be great in life, we must embrace and cleave unto books. Without reading, it might be hard for you to keep leading. We become what we take in, (books, words) especially when we believe in its' concept.
To write effectively, you must read continuously.
I hope we all enjoyed the first day in April, I was almost tempted to write about April fool's day, the people I fooled and what I told them that fooled them. On a second thought, maybe I should have written on it and probably saved this article for tomorrow, but oh well, the deed has been done.
Thanks for your support.
Thanks for reading.
