Have you also always wanted to join a Tree-planting activity in the hopes of helping the environment and making the Earth a greener place to live in? Perhaps, you have already joined one before or you have planted your own tree as well.
Back in High School, we used to have tree-planting activities as one of the movements we do during our every Girl Scout encampment. We would usually plant Mahogany and other available trees at the back of our school, along the roads, and by the river. We even set up our own Plant Nursery so that there is a place where we could get seedlings that we can plant when there are tree-planting activities again organized by the school.
And it's been a long time already since I have joined such an activity that benefits the environment.
If you have been very observant or maybe you are aware that the Earth is getting warmer and warmer. Instead of trees, huge buildings, and skyscrapers are planted everywhere. Mountains are slowly being converted into recreational and amusement parks. Farmlands are transformed into subdivisions where houses are built on them.
It's not only that but illegal logging is also evident in some areas. And when a typhoon attacks the country or a certain area, there will be huge floods everywhere that damage the livelihood of the people, and a number of lives are also lost if they couldn't survive the flood. This is the effect of not having enough trees that will absorb the rainwater.
Trees are very important in our lives because they give us clean air to breathe, they provide us shelter, and they protect us from various natural disasters. However, even if we get a lot of benefits from it, they are still not given enough importance. Perhaps, it's because human beings are naturally greedy.
Anyway, in this article, I'm just going to share something that almost all of you probably already know and I would like to encourage you to use it more for the benefit of our Mother Earth.
GCash has been providing this cool feature that allows us to plant a tree just by using the online wallet, and it is through the GForest.
GCash Forest is a feature that gives us the power to plant and grow real trees- all through the GCash App.
I have actually learned about this for a long time now and it is also one of the reasons why I like to use the GCash wallet so that I could earn enough energy for me to be able to plant a tree. Every time we make a green or eco-friendly transaction through the wallet app, we get to collect green energy. We could earn energy through different actions, such as Bank transfers, cash in, paying bills, buying load, express send, and saving money. And once we have already earned enough energy points, we could use them to choose and plant a real tree.
And last April 03, 2022, before I went to sleep, I was scrolling down on noise.cash, and I saw a post of one user sharing his certificate from the GForest of GCash where he was able to plant another tree again just by using the wallet. This post made me open my wallet to check if I have accumulated enough energy already to plant a tree and I'm just so happy to know that I collected enough already.
So I browsed all the available trees that can be planted and I chose the Pagatpat tree because it has the lowest energy required, at only 14,642g. Pagatpat is a mangrove tree found in sandy substrates that has short-lived white flowers. It will be planted at the Taรฑon Strait, which is one of the Eco Planting sites of GForest. And after I clicked the "Plant Now" and "Let's Go!" buttons, the wallet app gave me a certificate as a remembrance.
I'm just so happy that even though I'm just doing online transactions, I get to plant a tree that will help nature.
As of the moment, I only have 7K green energy left so I'll just keep using the app until I collect enough points to plant my second tree through the GForest.
That's all for this blog. So I just want to encourage you again to keep using GCash and collect your energy points so that you get to plant your tree as well.
Cheers to rebuilding Philippine Forest!
Gcash user din ako and lagi ko itong nakikita pero di ko alam na totoong plant a tree pala to... Will try it. Thanks for this article bhie!
