Celebrating my father's 45th birthday today
Our birthday's celebration is one of the most awaited day every year. Another chapter of your life and new opportunities ahead.
Today it marks my father's 45th celebration. As early as 4 am, my father went to our city's supermarket to buy ingredients and things we need. I'm kinda excited because it's very special day for him.
He got home at 6:15 am with bunch of ingredients. I assisted him getting the ingredients in our tricycle then sorted them from meat to vegetables. I ate my breakfast first since I'm quite hungry. I knew this will be a tiring day because I'm the one preparing all the meat and vegetables. I'm the cook!
Biko with Latik
As I was writing this now, I'm mixing and cooking biko, I don't know its English term. My shoulders and arms are quite aching because biko is now becoming more thicker and denser. I'm adding latik in it since that's how we usually prepared this biko.
I added ube as well to heighten it's deliciousness. There are different ways of preparing and cooking Biko with Latik. But, I still find it difficult cooking this since it took a lot of time. How do you cook Biko, friends?
Spaghetti
Yes, of course we cannot have a birthday party without this food, spaghetti. Ever since I was young, my love for spaghetti never changes especially when it is holiday season. Spaghetti here, spaghetti there, spaghetti everywhere. Agree?
What I love about my spaghetti is that I add milk and all purpose cream. I want the sauce that is milker than usual. The sauce should be quite thicker because when it's too much thinner, the pasta can't absorb the sauce.
I still don't get it why we Filipinos want sweet sauce than other sauce style. Maybe it's because we have sweet taste? Anyways, what makes your spaghetti special?
Lumpia Gulay
This is one of my favourite snacks and viand. All kinds of Lumpia like lumpiang gulay, lumpiang shanghai, lumpiang sariwa and lumpiang tofu. Then I will make a spicy sauce and its perfect. Vinegar, onion, chili and cucumber. Such a good sauce for it.
Sometimes when I attend a birthday or any kind of party. I'm always looking for lumpiang shanghai. I don't know why, but it becomes my habit. Oho, I know some of you are the same as me. Why do you love shanghai?
Pork Barbecue and Grilled chicken
I don't know what's the proper term but is barbercue and grilled the same term? Haha. Anyways, yeah last night I marinate some pork and chicken for us to grilled today. It becomes more juicy, tender and delicious.
What I hate about grilling is that whenever I finished it, I smell like charcoal and it stays on my skin. But, when I finished grilling it. Of course, perfect taste and worth it.
Other dishes
I cannot elaborate more dishes I prepared last night and today. You might find it boring to read since what I listed are just our usual food during birthdays. I don't know how the day will end, but I know it will be success. As long as my father is happy and satisfied, then it's okay.
On the other hand, besides cooking and preparing foods today. It's our first day in our synchronous class. I met some of our professors and they are so good. Especially my teacher in Rizal's course. She was so friendly, and you will feel she's very approachable person. I'm looking forward in our future discussions and activities.
My laptop also broke because it fell accidentally. The right side where the power button was opened. I cannot use it anymore. I'm having a hard time now since I need it for my study. I'm a computer science student and I need laptop for coding. :(
I'm saving my earnings here in read.cash and noise.cash. But it seems it will take several months for me to buy one. Oh gosh, hoping that no coding yet for us this months. But that's too impossible.
