Today is the first Monday of October which is why I believe that it is a good time for me to drop this post here. I have seen a lot of crypto bloggers calling themselves crypto enthusiasts but most do not understand what it means to be an enthusiast. Well, I will like to urge you all to look beyond just earning crypto’s through writing and try to dive deeper into the vast oceans of cryptocurrency.

You have heard about Uniswap from its V1 and now to V3 but have you heard about Paraswap.io, Bridge.Arbitrum.io and Gateway.Optimism.io? These are platforms that have emerged to help us fight the excess gas fee which has been the recurrent challenge in the ETH blockchain. Therefore, it is very paramount for every one of us to dive into these platforms to enjoy a feel of what a reduced network gas fee is. I have been able to interact with Optimism.io and I can say that it is worthy to note that the gas fee was very affordable. The one thing you must know is that the gas fee which you will use to bridge between ETH layer 1 and layer 2 using gateway.optimism.io will be high depending on the ETH transaction hash rate, but the moment you can bridge it, you will begin to enjoy a cheaper and lower gas rate.
A quick guide on how to use gateway.optimism.io
. Go to gateway.optimism.io
. Connect your wallet (Metamask) make sure you are on the ETH mainnet.
. Fund your Wallet if there is no little or no $ETH in it.
. Go back to the optimism page and enter the amount of ETH you want to bridge on the deposit tab and make sure to leave enough ETH for the gas fee.
. Pay the gas fee through the connected wallet.
. You will have to wait for 20 or more blocks confirmations after which the assets will be confirmed in optimism and will show in your balance when you switch from ETH mainnet to optimism mainnet.
. Next, you will head over to uniswap.
. Connect uniswap to your Metamask wallet after which you change your network ETH mainnet to optimism mainnet. Uniswap will switch automatically.
. Swap any ETH amount to USDT or any stablecoin to avoid price volatility. Pay approval fees and gas fees which should be very low.
. After that, if you wish to withdraw your ETH from optimism, you will have to go back to optimism and connect your wallet and carry out a withdrawal which should take 7 days to complete.
