The Paradox of Knife.

Do you have a knife in your kitchen? Don’t tell me otherwise because I am very sure that you have every kind of kitchen knife in your home. Before I continue, I will advise you to read the post till the end in other not to miss anything intentionally and mind you, the message of this post will arouse you into critically thinking about yourself and the things you have been doing as regards succeeding in life. Whenever we are asked to clap as a means of cheering or appreciating others for the good they have done, do we use our hands or our legs to clap? This is the very question you must ask yourself in other to understand where this post is aiming at. When you visit your friend and you are offered a glass of juice or water, do you pour it on your head or do you drink it with your mouth? I guess you are getting the flow of this post right now. Let us carefully look at the word Paradox as regards its dictionary meaning.

Paradox

I am not in any way trying to teach you an English word or its dictionary meaning but I think there is a great need for us to know the meaning of this word. The dictionary defines it as a statement that contradicts itself. Take a look at the underlined word, what do you think? I will leave you to that. Now, the word contradiction means a statement necessarily false. It is a statement that is in opposition with another. Sorry, I am going too deep into words and meaning, it is for a purpose and you will be glad that I did so at the end of this post. Having known what paradox is, let us look at it as it concerns the title of this post. The paradox of a knife; take a look at these statements and pick out the true one

• ·        Jane used the Knife to Brush her Teeth.

• ·        Please pass me the Knife I want to use it to light my cigarette.

• ·        After washing the tomatoes use the knife to slice them.

If you have carefully read through the statements above you would have understood that the last statement describes the knife both in usage and in form. If you were there when Jane was trying to brush her teeth with the knife, you would have concluded that she has lost her sanity because you already know what a knife is used for. This is exactly how people look at you when you act or behave in a way that contradicts your personality. Are you still with me? You see, it will be very hard for me to convince anyone that Jane used the knife to brush her teeth or to even convince you that a knife was used to light a cigarette. This is how hard it becomes when you live a life that says differently about your personality.

• ·        Who are you?

This is the very question that brings awareness and self-understanding but the challenge is that most people do not bother to understand who they are before getting out there to mingle with others. This is why people get the shock of their lives when you act the way you do. If you truly know who you are, you will understand that you must do everything possible to maintain your dignity and your principles. Just like the knife, you should not allow yourself to be seen doing things that contradict your personality at any time. Remember that you are a star and as such, you should shine like a diamond in the sky so that the greatness in you will be felt in your community. Don’t live a life filled with paradox because any goodness you fail to share in our world today takes us closer to chaos and anarchy.
