Fellow author, @Macronald would like to start a new initiative next month in an attempt to spark more author/reader interaction in the read.cash community. The goal is to motivate readers to leave engaging comments on articles by maintaining a leaderboard for the best commenters. For now, he calls this project The Comment League.

Prizes have not been determined at time of writing. He is donating some of his own funds each month, and is looking for others to help support this cause with him.

The plan is for The Comment League (for now) to start on November 1, 2020. In the interim, I encourage you to share your ideas on how to make it a successful project with him on the Telegram group that he has created (in the link below)!

I will be of support on that! And also, if we can do both like hunting down spammers. Would also do great. What do you think?

i like the idea of hunting down the spammers, but how do you see that happening?

my problem is i barely have time to write articles these days.

Thinking of it, you're right. And starting next week when the kids go back to school I don't think I will have enough time for me either. Why worry the spammers when we have to focus writing our own version of good article lol

This is excellent news (for me): I'm an enthusiastic commenter and am likely to comment much more than write original articles. The question is, what determines 'best' comments? Are the best comments the ones that receive the most engagements? Probably best to avoid anything that could be easily gamed or manipulated ('you comment on my articles, I comment on yours' - that sort of thing).

yes, another great point that needs clarification.

my understanding is that authors are to decide which comments are considered good, and to forward the commenter's username to Macronald so that he can keep track.

if this project takes off, i may have some difficulty deciding.

i would also encourage you to comment on Macronald's article (or use the Telegram group) and bring this issue up for discussion.

indeed your comments are great! thanks for visiting!

That would be interesting. I am hoping it will be inclusive of fighting spammers so that at least we can have quality content and not just content!

Exactly what I'm looking forward to!

that's something to be mindful of and a great point...you should leave a comment on his article and mention this.

both the article and the comment should have some merit for consideration maybe, striking some sort of balance of course.

thanks for visiting! i hope you are well!

Let's see how it goes

to be honest, anyone who leaves interesting comments already doesn't need any additional motivation.

the issue would be what happens if the project doesn't take off, or if it does, but eventually stops. will engagement return back to current levels?
