In this article of mine for my first dozen, I titled it "PUHON". It is a bisaya term for being hopeful or god-willing, which is properly belongs to and worldly recognized as cebuano dialect.
"Just a reminder for the readers, Cebuano is the dialect and Bisaya are the people who uses cebuano as it's mother language. We as bisaya doesn't usually used the term cebuano for our dialect but call it bisaya instead. In short, for us who are proud Bisaya, the word bisaya can either be a dialect or a person depending on how a bisaya uses it on a sentence (double meaning)."
Example:
Dialect: I can speak bisaya/cebuano fluently!
Person: Carewind is a proud BISAYA!!!
While Cebuano on the other hand also has double meaning too, varying from how the word is used. First Cebuano as dialect and the second one is the people who are living in the entire province of Cebu, Philippines are called Cebuano's too.
To properly begin with, the word puhon is "garas pas kinagarasan" (commonly used) to all bisaya in almost everyday and everything we do that tackles future.
Clever and hopeful
To dream also requires as to hope, but let me remind you this that being hopeful is good to our mind and can be brutal to our heart's. Let's say, you dream of having a goal each day but your not conquering it at all, so it's disappointing. How much more if we talk about hoping to be crush-back by our crush and ended up getting neglected, so it may hurts as also. To hope is same as to love, it's a double edge ramboo knife that everytime we hope to has the chance to make or break us. There for be selective in hoping to whatever your hopeful of.
Righteous and hopeful
This one is really what most of us bisaya meant when we use the word puhon. Hoping with the firm faith in God that someday, somehow what we asked in prayer and genuinely say randomly with addition of puhon only relies on gods-will. In this case, when we use the word bisaya, means a strong message of hope that we feel comfortable without any assurance that this might happen but still hopeful because I'm our faith. Religion is strong to all bisaya given the fact that the christianity of our country was born in Cebu. With Cebu having the most famous and grandest festival in "Sinulog" a celebration of the feast of Sr. Santo Niรฑo, the patron of Cebu City, Philippines.
The Batman and Hopeful
While to hope feels like letting god's-will to happen, there are some individuals also who are letting the nature of things works on its own ways. That "yolo" (you only live once) slogan of living especially for the teenagers and the young at hearts. The whatever happens, happens type of individuals and take no worries on it, these people are the modern hopeful batman's.
Moreover, there are four types of being hopeful in general psychology and also has four effects of being hopeful.
My Puhon as of present time
Last June 20, 2021 was my last day at work wherein I was employed by them for almost five years. I don't regret even a little with my decision in resigning and now I'm searching for a job that would fit my qualifications. Given our present situations in this unprecedented times, it's hard to find a job but I'm still here. I hope and pray that in the next couple of days or as soon as possible I can find a new job and ease the bills and rentals for everyday living.
Of course I know undeniably that hoping alone is not enough, I need to exert effort and dedication to for this matter and in addition, seeking Our Heavenly Father's unending grace in his own perfect timing.
I'm ending this hopeful article of mine with a capital PUHON and THANK YOU for reaching the end of this one. See you on the next one guys,!!! Look below and put on a smile,! ๐
