NBA All-Star Week 2022: 75 Years Anniversary & Celebration
February 21, 2022 - Monday, 07:40 PM
It's that time of the year again chill'hustler's where the best, the brightest and the biggest star of basketball players all over the world gathers for the so called NBA All-Star Week for this year of our Lord, 2022.
The host city for this year NBA All-Star Week is the City of Cleveland and it's city's team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. This years all-star weekend is one of the most special because the NBA is also celebrating it's 75th year Anniversary of being successful in delivering all basketball fans around the world a world class sport entertainment since its funding and has been a force and voice for equality and racism not just in america but also in the whole wide world.
There's a lot of happenings during this event but for the long time, it's always these three events that are more highlighted and most awaited by many basketball fans.
Mountain Dew 3-Point Contest
To start with, the 3-point contest is always first on the list, with selected players that are having a career season in shooting percentage.
Below is the list of Mountain Dew 3-Point Contest participants:
Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves [WINNER]
CJ McCollum, New Orleans Pelicans
Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks
Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls
Desmond Bane, Memphis Grizzlies
Luke Kennard, LA Clippers
Patty Mills, Brooklyn Nets
Fred VanVleet, Toronto Raptors
Karl-Anthony Towns (KAT) of the Minnesota Timberwolves wins the competition in a fashionable way beating Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks and Luke Kennard of the Los Angeles Clippers. KAT scored 29 points on his first attempt of the final round and was challenge by Trae and Luke but wasn't successful in prolonging the contest for Towns. Towns is also the second tallest players to win the title and first as a Center or bigman in the NBA. The first taller to win the competition in 2006 was the player who wores number 41 jersey and played for the Dallas Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki.
AT&T Slam Dunk Competition
One of the highlights also in this yearly event which hypes basketball fans is the famous Slam Dunk Competition which features the current high flyers of the season.
Below is the list of AT&T Slam Dunk Competition participants:
Obi Toppin, New York Knicks [WINNER]
Jalen Green, Houston Rockets
Cole Anthony, Orlando Magic
Juan Toscano-Anderson, Golden State Warriors
This must watch event result was not that pleasing and satisfying to all basketball fans worldwide because of the participants not making their first choice of dunks.
During the first round Jalen Green and Cole Anthony was eliminated which leaves Obi Toppin and Juan Toscona-Anderson (JTA) fighting for the title. Both finalist scored 44 points in their first dunks and it ended in third round wherein JTA's dunk was a windmill jumping over his teammate and a first time all-star Andrew Wiggins while Toppin's dunk was a behind the back left to right while jumping on a audience. Their finals dunks wasn't successful that converted into layups and the competition was won by their all dunks score. That's make this event not soo satisfying to the fans but as a real basketball fan, they showed all they've got in all those attempts though.
The only highlight I like the most during the competition was when Jalen Green wears his phone just like a bling with an NFT on its screen.
2022 NBA All-Star Game
Now here comes the main event of this celebration, the All-Star Game 2022 which was played by Team Lebron against Team Durant. Both teams are consist of 12 All-Star players. Each players are selected mostly through online voting where in the more votes a player get, the higher chance to be selected as an all-star.
Below is the list of all 24 selected All-Star Players for this year 2022:
Team LeBron
Starters
LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers)
Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks)
Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors)
DeMar DeRozan (Chicago Bulls)
Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)
Reserves
Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks)
Darius Garland (Cleveland Cavaliers)
Chris Paul (Phoenix Suns)
Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat)

Fred VanVleet (Toronto Raptors)
Jarrett Allen (Cleveland Cavaliers)
Team Durant
Starters
Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers)
Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies)
Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics)

Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota Timberwolves)
Zach LaVine (Chicago Bulls)
Dejounte Murray (San Antonio Spurs)
Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks)
LaMelo Ball (Charlotte Hornets)
Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz)
The game was great as I watch it chill'hustler's. It was the second straight all-star game that Kevin Durant didn't play due to injury. The game was played by 4 quarters and each quarter has a reward to it that will go straight to charities.
First quarter of the game was won by Team Lebron, second quarter went to Team Durant and third was won back again by Team Lebron and on the forth and final quarter, it was just a race to 163 points in which came down to a thriller 160 for Team Lebron against 161 for Team Durant. Then on the last position Lebron James made turned around fadeaway which wins it.
Stephen Curry leads all scores with 50 points, and an all-star game record of 16 3-pointers which obviously wins him the first Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP Trophy.
This game was very loaded with basketball hall of famers because it is also the celebration of NBA's 75th Year Anniversary in which they present during the halftime all of their Top 75 players All Time. Lebron James and Michael Jordan share a moment during the game also which is an historic moment for the sport, two of the best to laze a shoe on court in the history of Basketball.
NBA Games will resume on Friday, February 25, 2022.

Stephen Curry takes another record on his career, oh what an impressive performance of him. Lebron James also put into an end of the game when he made a clutch moment, shooting 3 points in the last second.
