Laura and Patrick had been married for years, without a child. The mother of Patrick soon became a thorn in the flesh of the young couples. Urging her son to get another wife who would bear him a son, and more children, and get rid of the barren woman he calls a wife.
Patrick brought patience, the new wife. She looked down on Laura so much simply because she couldn't take in. The moment she got pregnant, she behaved all high and lofty to the extent that Laura was more like a housemaid to her. Luckily for her, she bore a son for Patrick, who was more than happy. He now cared less for Laura, and Laura soon was getting into the clutches of depression. She loved little Mike (patient son) like he was her own. And funny enough, Mike loves her too. That was her only company in the house excluding the chores and cooking she was made to do every day.
Patience, on seeing the closeness between her son and Laura, got overly jealous. She soon devised a way of kicking her out of the house, permanently. First, she spoke to Patrick about Laura going out to find a job and putting her frail body to work. Patrick agreed and told Laura, who was very happy. It's been 5years since she last spoke of a job, and he had told her he didn't want to hear the word "job" from her again. And that was the last of it. Thank God for this golden opportunity.

Years have passed with no Laura as a single mom to Kelvin her son. She now worked in one of the prestigious Companies. That day the CEO was to come and visit the branch from overseas. That day at the office, the CEO, sire Richardson had called Laura to the office and congratulated her on the efforts she made for the company.

It was a tear-filled moment as she too had developed feelings for him, and he proved different after that rape incident. Moreover, Kelvin had been asking for his daddy lately.
They got married, two different destinies, came together by an ugly incident. Weird right?
Patrick was later found to be impotent when he was involved in an accident and he needed blood to transfuse from his son Mike. But the doctors told him he wasn't his son. They ran a DNA test on all 3 of the children he had with patience and the same.
He was childless all these years, living with a harlot that hard to sleep with 3 different men to bear children.
Just then, he remembered how he had blamed Laura for bareness, not knowing he was the impotent one.
He couldn't think of a divorce right now., Be confronted her and she told him she did it to save their marriage. Somehow he was grateful because no one knew he wasn't the father of his children, except him and patient. He wished he didn't have to send Laura packing the way he did, at least for the sake of her faithfulness.
He lived with the pain of an impotent man till the day he died.

There's a saying which says, if you cannot stand for something, you will fall for anything. I understand Laura might been barren for years, regardless, it's not worth taking the advice given to Patrick by his mother.
Patience played her game right. I'm really happy for Laura.
