During the intellectual revolution, there are 3 controversies that arises, mainly the Geocentrism of Ptolemy, the Heliocentrism of Copernicus, and the Darwinism by Charles Darwin.
GEOCENTRISM
Ptolemy’s geocentric system, is the belief that the Earth is fixed at the center of the Universe.
Before the 16th century took place, most people believed in the theory of geocentrism, believing that the earth is round, and geocentrists claims that from the earth’s view it looks like the Sun and stars are moving across the sky.
HELIOCENTRISM
Heliocentric theory of Copernicus, is the astronomical model presenting the Sun as the center of the Universe, making the Earth and planets revolve around it.
Heliocentrism contrary to geocentrism that placed the Earth as the center of the universe, it claims that the sun is the center of the universe.
DARWINISM
Darwinism by the English naturalist Charles Darwin (1809–1882) and the others, is a theory of developed biological evolution stating that all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce.
