While focusing sometimes takes a harder time, procrastination, on the other hand, is a classic and straightforward art of practice. There is no motivation needed, and of course, no talent is needed for you to be able to procrastinate.

Isn't it ironic? I mean, it's hard to concentrate, but distraction comes easily. Anyhow, we are talking about procrastination.

As you progress, you will accumulate talents and skills, but you may also encounter setbacks if you try to chase any deadline or goal at any time.

Procrastination can have countless consequences and negatively affect students' lives. These consequences may include the arduous task of wasting social and leisure time, unwanted results, and ending up having a lot of work to finish in a short period of time.

This is not a skill that someone should keep; on the contrary, it is a choice that we have to decide. We know ourselves better than others, so we know exactly how we respond to that dilemma.

Expert procrastinators are often associated with lots of tasks to be finished a day or a few hours before their deadlines. Your delays cannot be reconciled with projects or responsibilities. They directly contradict each other. It becomes more challenging when you keep on telling yourself you may just do it later.

Each student should know their priorities and make commitments to tasks and complete them within a specific time. Assume that you are given enough time to get it done. In this case, you should choose to do it as soon as you have free time. The reason is for you to enjoy after. If you enjoy first knowing that you have an unfinished task, you may forget it. And if you forget it, it is either you will not be able to make it on time or submit an assignment that was rushed.

Countless students worldwide can understand the phenomenon of delaying their work or projects to devote themselves to unproductive leisure time. Well, it is a well-known phenomenon.

This unhealthy educational habit that often leads to stressful tasks sows the seeds of negative consequences that far outweigh its benefits. Although some students may argue that procrastination has many benefits, it does not remove the fact about its countless disadvantages. The more you delay, the more tasks will be piled up.

So if you are a student who loves to postpone and avoid important schoolwork for temporary pleasure and unproductive activities, think again. It could be that you are not that very well interested in getting high grades to graduate with flying colors, but still consider the benefits you could get if you start doing things in the right way.

In my opinion, it is not totally wrong to procrastinate for a bit of time. But do not take too much time to do some things that won't benefit you. Temporary satisfaction is just temporary. They can subside in just a snap. So it's better to do it now, not later.

Can a procrastinator change?

The answer is a very big yes. Things change, and people do as well. With the right environment and motivation, everything is possible. Humans are complex creatures with the ability to think, mature, and learn from experience. Hence, a procrastinator can change.

Final Thoughts

Any one of the things or situations mentioned above could create a burning desire to change and grow for the better. But it could take a while of practice to avoid procrastination; after all, one didn't just fall into procrastinating overnight. Do not let it control us nor stain our minds. Instead, it should be us who will handle it.

Start your tasks now, a friendly reminder.
