A few hours ago, this pretty Dolly known asΒ @Theblackdoll who is extremely fond of writing spooky stories posted a short notice about her Halloween contest. I found out that today is the last day to submit an entry to qualify and get a chance to be one of the winners. I said in the comment section that I wanna join too but is too afraid not to meet the rules. I might not reach the required number of words to write. I honestly am bad at writing stories in the full English version lol.
Nonetheless, I am so excited to try so I opened the link attached to check the rules to follow. I have read some spooky stories from other writers too and it convinced me to write my own as well. Dolly encouraged me to give it a shot.
Also, last two weeks ago, my gorgeous sissy @JRamona20 requested to share my horrifying experience. A short draft was left in my notes. She asked me to write mine after I read and noted her article about "Stranger Things Exist!"
So why not give it a try and let's see if my brain can handle it. I am pretty good at sharing my stories verbally using my Bisaya dialect. We can talk overnight if you want lol. But if you will ask me to share it in English then buy me a case of RH beer! LOL!
Alright! Fasten your seatbelt because you might be puzzled. Not because of the story but because of my choice of words that will surely be confusing to comprehend, haha. So please bare with me.
August 11, 2020
Tuesday afternoon, I went to my bestfriend's place. It was our day off from work. I guess there's a birthday celebration at that time and she invited me in advance to come.
I arrived at their place and the area was filled with a lot of people. Most of them are their relatives. Well, I am not surprised anymore because we're friends for years and they always have a lot of visitors every time they held a celebration.
I had my lunch with her and the rest of the family members and I enjoyed their food and also our unending chitchats about work, love life, and all. I am so close to them and so they are to me. They treated me like a family.
Around 4:30 pm, I and my best friend decided to go out for a walk. Her sister Janice joined us. We stayed outside to breathe some fresh air. We talked a lot about many things and we never notice that it's getting dark.
So, I drove them back to their place. By the way, there house is quite far from the main road. And she lives near the hospital which is not fully constructed yet that time.
Thirty steps away from the hospital, there is a single Solar Lamp. The light it generated that night is not that bright so we have to use a flashlight. I parked my motorcycle there because I can't carry both of them anymore if I drive through the hilly and bumpy road.
From the lamp post, we have to walk 4 minutes before we can reach their house. The area is undulating. Once we passed through the Solar Lamp, we have to walk through a grassy path. You can feel the bend leaves touching your skin everytime the wind blows. There are also a lot of chico trees along the way which makes the road even darker. We used our phone's torch to light our way through their house.
We're talking and laughing while passing through until we reach their home, finally. We're all catching our breath lol. I stayed inside for 5 minutes and then I bid goodbye to her and her parents.
There are no visitors left outside. All of them are gone.
I opened my phone. It's almost 8 pm. I turned on my flashlight and started walking. It's so quiet. All I could feel that night was the cold breeze. I can really feel the cold wind touching my belly since I wore a red crop top but with sleeves. I can also feel the bend leaves from the Chico tree touching my head like it's combing the strands of my hair.
No lights. No houses, just trees, and tall grasses. I am not afraid to walk alone because I've been there a thousand times, and I always go home late every time I visit her.
I reached the post where I parked the motorcycle. I was about to go when suddenly I feel like I want to pee and I can't hold it. So what I did was, I sat down and *splashhhh* lol. It only took less than a minute and I'm done. I was afraid that someone might pass by and see my booty! Lol.
I was about to go but someone is calling. It was Chinggu who phoned me that time. It was a video call via messenger. I answered the call and started to operate. I couldn't start it and I was really trying. I checked if I ran out of gas but it's half full.
While trying my best to make it work, he asked me who's at my back. I thought he was joking so I told him "Duh! It's my boyfriend, can't you see?" But he replied "Nonono,Oh I see her, it's Glyness!" then he laughed. I thought again that he was joking around but he asked again why she was still with me. He also said "I thought you're going home, why is she still with you?
I disregard what he was asking because I really thought that he's just messing with me. Then there, the engine turned on. Finally! I was stuck in there for 5 minutes.
While driving slowly in a bumby road, I placed my phone in my left hand so that he could still see me. He keeps on talking and is asking over and over again. I don't mind him and keep on driving.
But I was horrify when he told me " Who's she? I thought she is Glyness. Who's with you?"
I sense that he's being serious this time. I can't see my face clearly through my phone because the place is still shady, so I stopped near the hospital to get some light to check if what he was babbling about.
I looked closely through my phone screen. And guess what I saw, jusmeyo! There's a girl behind me. She is there. She's wearing white. I was about to feel scared but it was funny because she's wearing a mask. Is she infected with COVID? Seriously, how come she's wearing that if she's a ghost or what? Looking at her eyes, I could say that she's pretty. She has beautiful eyes. I can not tell who she is. She's very unfamiliar. I never met her before.
After I saw her face, our video suddenly got disconnected. I tried to call him back when I reached the main road but he did not pick up my call. I called back three times I guess but he never answered it.
I kept it to myself until I reach home . I don't want to share it with my family because I am sure they can't sleep once they knew about what happened.
I discussed it with him the next morning and he told me that he fell asleep after the call and got a nightmare. We're both confused about who she might be. We both have no any idea.
He also told me that morning that while I was driving, that girl behind my back is holding my phone and the only person he could see is her. I still have goosebumps now. How come she's holding it? I was holding my phone the whole time! What the ferrrckk!
After the incident, I have a lot of questions running inside my head.
Lesson learned:
Don't answer a video call in the shady place. Charroottt! I don't know what exactly is the lesson to be learned from my experience. Maybe we have to go home early next time or if it's already dark, ask someone to escort you.
I don't know as well if you understand what I meant in the story huhu. But thank you for reading it until the end. I told you, I am not good at it but I tried my best and I know it's not good enough. Maybe I will ask for some help from you guys on how to improve my writing skills.
Thank you so much once again, awesome souls!
Saranghae!
