Good day friends. Happy last Thursday of the month of January. I believe you are having a great day.

Just recently, I had the privilege of being in a hospital. I wasn't sick. I followed a neighbor, Tim, to visit his friend, Robert. Robert was rushed to the hospital from his Primary Place of Assignment. He was very diligent and hardworking. He was greatly admired by the people he worked with. He slept with a girl and had an attack although the girl volunteered herself. He began to cough and vomit blood as he was dressing up after the act. The lady's scream alerted other people at the place and they all rushed there. He would have died if not for the timely prayers of sympathizers.

Some other people visited him at the hospital. His parents were contacted and one of his family members travelled over. He lamented over his wayward life and shared his story with us.

He was from a well to do family. His parents brought him up in the way of the Lord. Four years back, in the university of Lagos, he used to be a good Christian. He was a choir master in the campus fellowship. Peers' and friends' influence made him lose focus. He became attached to materialism and lust. He tried to stand but fell. He fought the violent tide but it finally submerged him. He tried for a long time but he gave up. He was fighting with his strength and not with God's strength.

Tim tried to console him when he began to cry bitterly. He brought out an uprooted plant and told Robert that he would come for it in four days time. Robert said it would be dried before then. 'Why?' Tim asked. Robert said because the plant was already detached from its roots.

Tim said Robert had been detached from his root. And that was why he could not rise when he fell. He had been disconnected from his strength zone which is the word of God. No matter how far he might have gone, God's loving hands can still reach him. We prayed with him before we left.

Some Youth corpers think that service year is to catch fun and enjoy their lives. Some think it is a time to catch fishes. It is more than that. Just because they are far away from family, friends and people who know them, they begin to live a wayward life. Don't end up fooling yourself. Live with the consciousness that even though people may not see you, God does. Stay connected with your strength zone and don't be disconnected.

Thanks for reading.

We all need to have a strength zone. Because we are easily weakened in any case. To be successful in life, you must not be weak. Strength zone needs to work for this. that's so true.

This is true, I witnessed alot of these during my service year. A lot go there for fun because of freedom. The funny thing is that once the attack comes, they still run to NCCF(if you know the fellowship) for prayers, forgetting that these people have preached to them to stay off some those acts. God is Merciful always 🤲

Yes, but some never get a second chance. They don't want to be associated with any Christian fellowship. Thanks for the comment 💝
