Do you like windows? Come to think of it, I like windows best in a house. I try to imagine what the house would be like without windows, without being able to look outside. I can't imagine, even in prison, in the cell, there is a small window. Of course, I know that humans can adapt to any situation and probably would survive even without windows in the house but I think life would be much sadder. #photography

I can't and I can't get the sea out of my head! If I stay awhile and let my thoughts move freely they take me to the sea. I think that it has only been two months since I was at the seaside and that I will have to wait at least another seven months before I can go back there. That is if nothing bad happens until then! I love all animals. For a long time in my life, I had dogs. Unfortunately, only dogs that didn't love cats. So I never had cats. I like cats but I think it's late to settle for one now. I'm left to admire them from a distance!

A special season, good weather with sunshine and pleasant temperature, a beautiful park. Everything you need for a pleasant walk. I've noticed that over the last two years walking has remained the most consistent activity. Autumn is that special season. A sunny autumn day is unparalleled in beauty and a must-see time to go image hunting. As a city dweller, I have access to the beauty of autumn nature in the parks.

Autumn is also the season of fairs. Here is a fair in the courtyard of the Romanian Peasant Museum in Bucharest. This is a wonderful museum, who visits Romania should visit this museum if he wants to understand something about these people. Unfortunately, this pandemic has stopped both travel and visits to the museums. The fair is set up in the courtyard of the museum and being outdoors it is less dangerous to get infected with Covid.

To think it's only been a month since I was looking out the window at these sunflowers. Now they're gone. How quickly time passes! From such small examples, we can see the passage of time, otherwise, if we are not careful, we realize that years have passed us by without us even noticing.

There was a time when I used to get up very early in the morning to catch the sunrise. I could see it then because I lived in another city, on the top floor of a ten-story building. I miss those times. I accidentally found photos from back then and remembered...

I can't ignore this because it's fleeting and carelessness leads to loss. I refer, again, to the beauty of autumn. The way plants prepare their leaves for death. I mean the beautiful way they choose to die. Maybe they want to convey that they have no regrets. Hydrangea, one of my favorite flowers, is now showing its leaves. I once made a mistake in a dispute with a vegan lady and said I was a carnivore in a desire to say I liked meat. I received instant correction, said lady saying she could even see me, with sharp canines and tearing a poor animal apart. We humans, are omnivores, meaning we eat everything... For many of us, meat is the most important. For me, too, but lately I feel more and more the need for vegetables. But it's hard for me to break up with the grill ...

It is impressive how nature manages to survive in unfriendly places such as abandoned buildings. Not only surviving but even giving a special beauty to a mixture of bricks, mortar, and flowers. A building in the center of Bucharest, the so-called Old Centre. The area is under rehabilitation.

I am reminded of the beginning of a song, "It's autumn again...", yes it is autumn again, like every year and we must make the most of what it has to offer. Beauty, calm and quiet after a hectic summer. On the other hand, there can be a saturation because of the many similar posts. On my most recent walk, I had a totally unexpected companion. A cat was taking a walk along the edge of the lake. I don't know if cats are as good swimmers as dogs are. I have had dogs, some that hated the water and were afraid, terrified of the water. At different times, there was a collie and a pit bull. In between them, I had a dog that loved the water, a Labrador! That's how I know dogs are good swimmers, even the ones that were afraid of water managed to swim when they had no way to oppose it. The Labrador was like a fish in water... Ramblings. I guess the cat doesn't do very well in the water. I also think the cat by the park doesn't walk. I think he wanted to eat a fish but didn't know how to catch it!

Autumn is here. For some of us. What does autumn look like? I think everyone has a representation, a model, an image. From a dry leaf to a golden pumpkin. Or maybe a fairy, as the people at this restaurant have imagined it. A restaurant in my favorite park. A restaurant I've never been to. Not even autumn made me want to go in there.

I have seen several posts of our Greek colleagues and this has rekindled my longing for this incredible country, Greece! I discovered it in my old age, five years ago and then I believed and promised myself to go there every summer, as long as I can still move. The pandemic has prevented me for the last two years from going there, to my dream island of Thassos. Now I can't wait for this winter that hasn't even started yet to pass and get closer to next summer, maybe next year I'll be able to get to the island again. Until this wish is fulfilled I have to be content with memories...

Did you know that cabbage can also be decorative? These are for sale in a florist. I've seen ingenious arrangements made with hundreds of cabbages in a botanical garden. Surely I have some photos somewhere but I don't want to look for them now, I would waste a lot of time. I'll find them at some point and they'll be posted here. Good old cabbage! It's such tasty food, it also has many health benefits and on top of all that, it's also very decorative. #photography #nature

If we consider this alley as life and we have two choices. Left means city, modern life, cars, congestion, pollution, facilities. Right, which is just a park, means nature, beautiful, clean air, simple life. What do you choose? The past is in black and white. To see the past, old age, and deterioration. In the park next to my house is a summer theatre. That is, the theater building remains, abandoned. The passing of the years and lack of care have caused this building, built 70 years ago, to deteriorate. I know it from my youth when it was well cared for. I love light and color so inevitably I love Van Gogh. Van Gogh is one of my favorite painters when I think of the world's most important painters. It's almost unfathomable how he was able to produce so many superb paintings in the more than dire conditions in which he lived. It is said that he never sold a single painting during his lifetime and now his paintings are worth tens and hundreds of millions of dollars each. Perhaps his best-known painting is Sunflowers. It was for a long time the most expensive painting in the world. I have tried to reproduce, quite roughly, the sunflower bouquet in the famous painting. I had the flowers in the garden and because they were about at the end of their life, I cut them and put them in a pot of water. My sister-in-law visited the Van Gogh museum in Holland. From there she brought me a fridge magnet with the painting Sunflowers, which you can now see on the top left in this photo. I noticed this after I took the photo, it was not my intention to make this association.

That's what happens when love flowers and don't have enough space for them. I have a very small front garden where I try to put as many flowers as possible. Too many for the existing space, I know that, but I can't help myself. I am getting older and I am more and more attracted to gardening, to flowers.

This is the sea I like. As wild and undeveloped as possible. I'm sure many of my fellow noisers who live by the sea are used to such images. However, most want for their holidays to stay in modern hotels with all the facilities and sunbathe in places full of umbrellas and sunbeds. I, who live in a big and crowded city am fed up with construction and crowds. A deserted beach, narrow as it is, with abundant overgrown vegetation. A beach where you can just sit with your thoughts and let the wind and waves caress you. A beach that even two thousand years ago looked the same. Thassos, Greece!

A short story told elsewhere reminded me of the high I reached for the sea. Greece and its island, Thassos. The location of this island in the Aegean Sea, less than 1000km from the city where I live allowed me to travel there. I have been three times and should have been five times but the pandemic has robbed me of this joy in the last two years. They say only the ox is consistent, I don't know why, but if it is true then I am an ox! I've made it my goal to only go to Thassos in the time I have left. It's here! Autumn, rain, cold. I love to photograph and autumn is the favorite season for all photographers, because of the colors nature produces. I'm sticking with summer, fewer colors but also less rain. I understand the need for rain, but I don't like walking in the park wet as I used to in my youth. Now my old bones feel any dampness...

I think we have all suffered a lot from this pandemic and understand how much it has changed our lives. How much life has changed all over the world! I'm almost 70 years old but I've never seen anything like this in my life. I never imagined that such a thing could be possible and I treated with indifference and disbelief all the catastrophic movies about epidemics and killer viruses. Now, thinking about these movies I realize that it could have been worse! Of the many things I miss now, going to the theater is among the first. Only two weeks ago autumn looked like summer. In the park, on the lake, a sailing competition. The competitors are children. The sailboats look very nice on the lake, especially in groups. I love these kids doing sports, especially a water sport in a city where there aren't many lakes big enough to allow it.

That's what I miss most, this sea of green. I can't have it in the city where I live. This is one of my childhood places. Very far away in years and distance. A place I see about once a year, when I go to my grandparents' house, to the house where I grew up.

An image and a memory that fades as autumn moves towards winter. Obviously the less access we have to something the more desirable that something becomes! I love the sea but live far from it. The funny thing is that when I get to the sea I often forget to look at it, it's enough for me to know it's just around the corner, to hear the waves, to smell the salty air... A good reason to want to live another year, to go there again.

Last year I landscaped a small corner of my yard with succulents. Plants that grow in desert areas without water. That's why they have these shiny, puffy leaves. This ensures both the accumulation of water and the avoidance of water loss through transpiration. Theoretically, these plants are very resistant to frost and low temperatures. In practice, they did not last and last winter took a heavy toll on them, most of them died. I still have the photos to remember them by.
