I have many passions, more than I can carry ... photography, the sea, the blue color, travel, cooking, music, film, art... life.

The future is electric! I mean transport. For the elimination of pollution, for a green future for the planet. Big plans are being made to replace petrol and diesel cars with electric cars. All is well and good, but electric cars are still very expensive. That's why my fellow citizens started with something cheaper. The electric scooter. This can also be rented.

81 years ago, on this very day, 9 October, was born the man everyone will know and admire. John Lennon! A unique singer-songwriter and composer, he had a major influence on the music of the last century. Along with his bandmates, The Beatles. He was assassinated 41 years ago. I think this is the song to listen to now. LOVE! https://youtu.be/3G-qAKmACDE

Oh, my God! When I remember my most recent vacation. I can't believe it's only been a month since then. I wish many of our colleagues would understand that these once or twice a year vacations are short cheap vacations, I'm not a rich man who can spend a lot. Our culture places a lot of importance on vacations and that is why we prepare, save money well in advance to spend a few pleasant days somewhere far away from home during the summer. I love the sea and that's why all my holidays are spent there. I go to another country, Bulgaria in this case because it is cheaper than in my country, Romania. The funny thing is that it is more beautiful and pleasant there. The closest place and where I go every year, even several times a year, is a small town called Balchik. In the photo is the palace garden of Queen Mary of Romania in Balchik.

I love herbs, Mediterranean herbs with different flavors, used so much in the kitchen. I like to grow some of these plants myself and dry them so that they can be used in food preparation. I have succeeded with oregano and bay. The others I buy, until I can grow them in my garden.

Old age, loneliness, and deprivation. Often these come together and it is very hard to fight these shortcomings. We see lonely people trying to do something, to overcome hardships with their small strengths but not giving up. The hectic and busy life in the big cities leaves little room to see these people who need to be helped. Who ask for nothing, who try to sell something for a few pennies. Flowers and old books that no one needs, now that they find everything on smartphones. Still, a little humanity and compassion? #life #photography #mytown

@BlueDan

I'm impressed how nature, plants, birds, and small wild animals manage to survive in cities. I've seen squirrels and even a fox in my neighborhood. Waterfowl are in all the parks and not only there. These ducks live right in the center of town and seagulls are often seen sitting on the surrounding blocks. Of course, finding food more easily brings these birds and animals among the people. Fortunately, most people are nice to them, many even feed them. #mytown #photography

Autumn is here but I find it hard to break away from the recently ended summer. The fountains are still throwing up water but we no longer feel the need to cool off near them. I think they will soon be turned off and taken care of to get through the coming winter which we don't know how it will be. Gentler on us or angrier. Considering that electricity and gas have become very expensive, we are hoping for a mild winter, at least like last year's. #photography #mytown

An old house and a (relatively) new car. This pairing caught my eye as I walked down the street. The house, of course, much older than the car, was built between the two wars of the last century. Nor is the car, though it looks good, in the best shape, soon to be replaced by electric cars... The house, unfortunately, has been abandoned for many years and nobody has taken care of it. Somewhat the same happens to people, of course, some of them (us)!

Life at less than two years old is complicated and with a lot of desires, a lot of curiosities. We adults can't even imagine what can be in the head of a child who can't even talk yet. Or maybe he doesn't want to talk? #life #photography

@BlueDan

This is the image I miss most when I'm away from home. My little yard, the flowers, and greenery. The sun at dawn that I can't see, I only see its rays. My pair of sandals. I live in an area with four seasons. That means several layers of clothing and footwear suited to the temperatures of each season. I like it best in the summer when I wear sandals. For me that means freedom! A little piece of freedom. What is your freedom? #life #photography #nature

@BlueDan

Once upon a time, there was "la vie en rose", French for "life in pink"! I realize there was a life in pink. Now life is black and white. I'm left with a lingering hope that life will be colorful again soon. #life #black&white

@BlueDan

We have a lot of desires and dreams in this life. I would most like to live by the sea! I don't know if it's the most wonderful thing in the world or if I would be happier if my life was by the sea. I am left with this nostalgia that I quench every now and then with a trip to the sea. #life #photography

@BlueDan

We can say that flowers are like people... we can find similarities. Flowers can be confident, shy, good, bad, bright, or dark. Some are so full of themselves that they don't accept anything around them, i.e. other flowers. They want to be unique. Others, however, are modest and beautiful, generous in fragrance, industrious in flowers and buds, long-lived, i.e. they bloom from spring to late autumn, until the first snow... Marigolds!

@BlueDan

Autumn is here for many of us. For me, the autumn of life has even arrived! Autumn is a pleasant season, it's a transition, it lets us get used to the thought of winter. Although I am in the middle of autumn I still can't forget the beauty of summer! #photography #travel

@BlueDan

When I visit new cities I am, of course, attracted by the famous places that make that place special. This was the case when I visited one of the great cities in Romania, called Iasi. It is the fourth largest in the country. Its emblem is the Palace of Culture, the building in this photo. A former Palace of the Monarchs, then Palace of Justice, and now it hosts several museums and exhibitions. It is a must-see if you come to this city. However, the pleasure of traveling also lies in pleasures closer to the heart, such as a good coffee. The best coffee I drank at Coffee Story, of course, also in Iasi. #travel #photography

We are now living in a time when climate change is easily noticeable. This is remarkable and dangerous at the same time because these shifts are happening over extremely long periods of time, so long that entire generations cannot notice the change. Now I have noticed how the seasons change, I have noticed that the winter of my childhood is completely different now, only half a century later! A recent United Nations report places half of my country, Romania, in a Mediterranean climate. Amazing! The Mediterranean climate is my favorite climate and I could only enjoy it when traveling in Greece. Now it comes over me, my house, and my city. Of course, I don't have "time" to perceive it in its full aspect but I see the first signs and I enjoy them. My children will in the not too distant future, but certainly, not my future, have these cacti planted in their yards! #ourfuture #climate

@BlueDan

I was so impressed with the night out I had last night that I'm posting a few more pictures of my city at night. I can't say that I really like what I see at night on the streets, I mean I don't really fit in with those who like to be on the streets. It reminds me of my youth when I used to be on the streets more. Now I like it more at home! #mytown #nightphoto

@BlueDan

The night is something special in the city. Since I live far from the city center I don't go there very often, unless I have important reasons. An invitation to some very close friends gave me the chance to see the city center again at night. I have to admit it has changed a lot in the last few years and it has changed for the better. I liked it and decided to resume my night walks in the city, as I used to do many years ago. Bucharest, Romania. #mytown #nightphoto

I most like, when I can't get to nature, to try to bring nature to me. I was gifted with a very small front yard and here I try to cram in as many plants, flowers, bushes, and trees as possible. Of the flowers, the sunflower is one of my favorites. The flower is wonderful but it has a disadvantage for small places, the plant is very large. I have not kept this in mind and tried to grow a few plants myself and succeeded with one in between. Now the sunflower is also growing outside my window!

Autumn is a season of abundance. Harvests are harvested, all kinds of fairs and events are organized. On my weekend walk, I saw an autumn fair celebrating the ripening of the grapes and the beginning of winemaking. Wine goes very well with barbecue and potlucks. Food is specific to different regions of the country, from the Danube Delta to Transylvania. This is what happens in Romania.

I have a good friend who lives in a village a few dozen kilometers from the city where I live. Life in the country has many advantages and benefits, which I won't list here, because surely you know them. But as nothing can be perfect, it also has some disadvantages, such as the difficulty to get to certain places, like the airport. Now comes the role of friends. Always when my friend has to get to the airport I am the one who drives him. The last time I did this, the departure was at five in the morning and the return at ten in the evening. Somewhat inconvenient hours but I've had rewards for that... I was able to photograph sunrise and then the moon, waiting for the plane to land.

Yesterday I posted for the first time in Read.cash! I joined a few weeks ago and hadn't decided to start, I kept weighing up whether it was right to do this, whether I would find the time for a new activity. I'm a fan of noise.cash and find it natural to be active on the other site, but I also wonder if I can still have the patience to start it up again. Because I've been in another blogging program for over four years and I know how hard and how much work it takes to prove that you are a serious member... I still don't know if I'll succeed, however, the fact that many in noise.cash are also in read.cash makes me want to be the same. I chose another name, @bluedan and if you want to see my introduction post, you can find it here https://read.cash/@BlueDan/first-a-short-presentation-51cb2728 Thanks!

@BlueDan

First - a short presentation A moment still postponed happens today, i.e. I am now writing my first post in read.cash. I've been toying with the idea of writing here for a long time, but so far I haven't decided and because of the insufficient time I have now, paradoxically, because I'm retired and I shouldn't miss it. Life, however, does not take into account our opinions and decides to do otherwise. I've decided now and I'm glad for it, even though I know the beginning is harder... I came to learn about *read* somewhat the other way around, that is, I learned about it from my *noise* colleagues and that made me curious. I say a reverse path because I think most of *noise* came through the *read* pipeline. To introduce myself, my name is Dan and I like the color blue. Blue from the sea and the sky! This is the reason for the name I chose. I live in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, a country on the edge of the European Union, fortunately, the edge from the inside! I am retired, as I said, and I am 68 years old. The photo in the bio is mine, I like to know who I am interacting with and I think others like the same, that's why I gave these details. To be even more precise, to take honesty to its limit, I will tell you that this photo is three years old. I used it though because it best illustrates three of my greatest passions, the color blue, photography, and travel. In fact, that's what I'll write about most here. Of course, and about life in general, a universal subject. **Photo** I love to photograph and I do it almost all the time I am on the move, i.e. when I am walking, shopping, going to concerts or shows, but especially when I am traveling and on holiday! **Travel** Traveling has remained my main passion now and even though I don't travel much and when I do, a few times a year, I like to go to just a few places that I love and never get bored of. To the sea, always! **Life** Life manifests itself in all kinds of ways, there are many aspects to talk about. I, right now, am consumed with being a grandfather. I have a granddaughter who is almost two and I am fascinated by the way she discovers life. That doesn't mean I'm going to abuse colleagues' time to talk about her all the time. On the contrary. **Crypto** I am interested in cryptocurrencies and blockchain, without being knowledgeable about them, so I am by no means one of those who give advice or write about these topics. I am interested in investing, exchanging, and trading and hope to learn from more experienced colleagues here how to do better. This is a more succinct self-introduction, I think I gave some information to let people know who they interact with and the rest will come in future posts. Because the real personality will be revealed by my posts. Those who can see will understand. **Thank you!**

A friend of mine used to say that... "if I catch the one who still says old age is beautiful, you'll see what I'll do to him!" Yes, old age brings wisdom, it brings a certain peace of mind, but it comes at a price. A price that shows on the body... #life #photography #tree

@BlueDan

This is a castle. I mean it is called a castle, the former Queen Mary of Romania lived in it. It was the Queen's summer residence in Balchik, Bulgaria. Balchik is a small coastal town on the Black Sea. The Queen died in 1938 and the monarchy was abolished in Romania in 1947. This castle, now a museum, remains as a reminder of times gone by and to show the modest way of life of a queen, the former granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Balchik is a place I visit every year, every summer. I remember the history of my country, the important people of the past and relax in a very beautiful seaside resort. Two weeks ago I was there, now all I have are memories.

An early autumn Sunday, a day when summer is still fighting autumn and it's hard to tell who wins. Actually, it's easy to say who wins, we win! We're casting another gorgeous day for walking and relaxing because it's Sunday. A very nice Sunday! I look with envy at these athletes who seem to be treading water. Others, in the distance, are racing in little sailboats, taking advantage of the autumn wind. A walk in the park. #mytown #photography

@BlueDan

City by night! Now I realize how much I missed the city the night. Because of the pandemic, the theaters were closed and they alone made me leave my marginal neighborhood to go downtown. I didn't realize this longing until a few evenings ago when I went to the theater again after almost two years. I remembered the good old days! #mytown #photography

@BlueDan

Summer to autumn. We need to take advantage of the fresh vegetables that are coming to an end. Come winter in Europe, these vegetables will be in the supermarkets but they won't taste as good as in summer.

@BlueDan

Near and so far. It was last week but it seems like years ago... It's past vacation time and I'm already dreaming of next year's vacation. From holiday to holiday my life goes on. I remember waiting for my paycheck, waiting for that day of the month, then the next month, and not even noticing when years have passed. Now I'm retired, counting the holidays, I don't even want to think how few are left!

@BlueDan

Waiting for a coffee ... I arrived in a little-known part of the city, at a medical check-up (for my wife). Not very pleasant. While waiting, I wanted a coffee and found a small cafe. The coffee was little and not very good. That is why it's good to buy from known and tested places.
