Last year I landscaped a small corner of my yard with succulents. Plants that grow in desert areas without water. That's why they have these shiny, puffy leaves. This ensures both the accumulation of water and the avoidance of water loss through transpiration. Theoretically, these plants are very resistant to frost and low temperatures. In practice, they did not last and last winter took a heavy toll on them, most of them died. I still have the photos to remember them by.

Hmm, I thought they can weather harsh circumstances
I thought the same but have now learned that not all species are equally resilient.
