This is a castle. I mean it is called a castle, the former Queen Mary of Romania lived in it. It was the Queen's summer residence in Balchik, Bulgaria. Balchik is a small coastal town on the Black Sea. The Queen died in 1938 and the monarchy was abolished in Romania in 1947. This castle, now a museum, remains as a reminder of times gone by and to show the modest way of life of a queen, the former granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Balchik is a place I visit every year, every summer. I remember the history of my country, the important people of the past and relax in a very beautiful seaside resort. Two weeks ago I was there, now all I have are memories.

Glad you like it. It really is beautiful and it's also closer to my house, so easier to get there.
