Ouch! That Hurts! Popcorn? Hello there, read.cash. I'm just going to stop here real quick as this topic is going on viral all over social media right now. **Have you seen the video of Oscars where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage?** I thought I was watching Batman and Robin.
It all started when Chris Rock made a joke about the **Will Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith** referring to her as **"G.I. Jane"** because of her almost bald head. It has been in the news that Pinkett Smith has spoken her **battle with alopecia** in the past. https://www.billboard.com/culture/lifestyle/jada-pinkett-smith-embraces-hair-loss-alopecia-1235014419/ So at Oscar's, Will Smith surprised the crowd by moving toward the stage and slapped Chris Rock after the comedian poked a fun joke at Will Smith's significant other, Jada. Chris Rock was on the stage to introduce the honor for best actor. He started by poking a couple of jokes at the random people from the show's crowd, including Jada. Shortly after Chris Rock made the joke, Smith immediately went up to the stage and slapped the comedian across the face. Right after that, Will Smith got back to his seat and yelled, **"Keep my wife's name out your f****ng mouth."** Whoa! That was really shocking!
**What are your thoughts about this? Is Chris Rock joke acceptable? Is Will Smith rational?** In my opinion, jokes belittling health conditions and disabilities are in no way acceptable. Not a tiny bit. Uh uh! I am not sure though if Chris Rock was aware of Jada's medical condition. Was he? But I think both of these grown-up men were wrong. Will Smith was uncalled for and he should've handle it back stage when the show is over. On the other hand, there is no excuse for any violence especially in public. Maybe he needs to grow up a little bit and act as a grown up adult. Oscar's should have asked Will Smith to leave the room immediately. They did nothing though. He should be held accountable and the academy should be sued for taking no action. Just my two scents. Not a good example especially to young kids. There is again no excuse No excuse for overreacting. It is not the proper place to loose your mind. **If Will Smith can assault his co-actor on national TV, what more can he do behind the camera?** Think think think.
Well, that was just random. I hope your Tuesday is pleasant and not slapping you with anything today. Xoxo. For now, I am going to sit back and eat popcorn. I'm kind of tired from running errands earlier today.

I've watched it, but part of me thinks it's acting and a pre-agreed thing to make an arena and get attention, I'm not sure but it, anyway the two behaviors are inappropriate.
If it was an act, well it was "very" inappropriate, doc Lara. Well, money money!
... plus movie... pop corn plus a will smith movie please or a chris rock movie haha.. yeah i felt it was off for Chris Rock to benefit an audience laughter from Jada's condition. I saw in the video that the joke did not sit right with Jada. I know alopecia. I know of no one being thrilled at all of finding bald spots on your head appearing one morning suddenly. It's different when you decide to shave your head because of fashion whim versus a medical condition. Had will smith did not see Jada was affected, I think all would have been good. Also off for will smith to go up on stage and hit Chris. He can however, come up the stage and maybe pulled Chris on the side and tell him it's not a good joke. Meme's are flying fresh because of this incident though.

The incident has not gone viral in our country yet but I aired it on a news channel in our country yesterday. One of my roommates did a lot of research on it and discussed with us. Thanks for letting me know one more time, sis..!! 🙂

I believe these shows often have jokes told by the host to spice things up. But some jokes are expensive and inappropriate. As for Will, I agree that he could have handled it differently. Oh well...

Gimme some pop corn sis :P I saw it on the local channel. Chris was wrong for doing such joke but hindi dapat pinatulan ni Will, I know he was mad but still, it wasn't a professional thing to do. Baka masira pa career nya. He should have done it behind the camera.
Parang bata kasi inasal ni Will, sis. Di na lang hinintay matapos ang show tas nagsisigaw sigaw pa :D

I have seen the matter and it seems ugly to me. But yes when it comes to joking with someone, there should be a limit.

May be due to his overlove for his wife made him react spontaneously. There are peoples about whose wife they have to hear intolerable stories, they still keep sillent, with no reaction. Considering these facts what Will Smith did was partially right, though he should not have alappes in public. May be he respects and values her more.

I watched this clip so many frikkin times on Insta and concluded that Will Smith actually liked the joke and Jada rolled her eyes up and only then Will got up and gave the slap hahaha... he liked that joke I tell ya 😆😆 Neverthless, this was so awkward

I saw the clip too. What made me surprised was that will initially laughed at the joke, so I couldn't understand why he later reacted the way he did since will is a comedian too
Indeed he can actually do that behind the camera, both of them must act professional. The joke isn't funny at all, he must also be aware that not all joke are funny.
Am not taking side to any of them but making of jokes about someone could be so costly at times, how do you expect the person to feel and you were in such person shoe how will you handle it

I saw this video earlier ate and at first akala ko po, prank lang haha. Pero I believe may mali sila pareho. We should not uttering words na pwedeng maka offend sa iba but on the other hand, I believe na pwede naman po nila pag-usapan o i-settled privately. Siguro di lang nakapagpigil si Will kase asawa na niya yun.

We all know that it was fake and well arranged to give the audience stir. To enlighten their moods. But the thing is we never know what's reality. and what's not.

Well, I must say what he did was a bit wrong but at least there is always a limit to jokes especially ones that has to do with the health of a person. He defends his wife which I can't say is bad.
