Bitcoin ABC 2020 Fundraiser Reaches Halfway Mark, Will Continue
Bitcoin ABC, the preeminent Bitcoin Cash $BCH protocol development team, is proud to announce that its first 2020 funding campaign has concluded with the following results.
As of 1 June 2020, Bitcoin ABC has raised 53.63% of its 2020 goal of USD$3.3 million.
The funds were raised over 2 months as follows: sponsorships 95%, the Mempool Overhaul funding bucket 1.5%, the Take Code Ownership funding bucket 2%, and the general scaling fund 1.8%.
Bitcoin ABC team member Antony Zegers said: “I would like to personally, and on behalf of Bitcoin ABC, thank all who contributed to this campaign. While some of our donors wish to remain anonymous, please know that we really appreciate the support. Although we are aiming for more funding to fulfil our goals, the funds raised so far will be put to good use. They have enabled us to continue funding the existing development team, as well as beginning to grow the team. We look forward to continuing to grow and build Bitcoin Cash.”
A top priority for Bitcoin ABC going forward is to raise the remaining USD$1.5 million, or approximately 6,491 BCH, which is needed to fund Bitcoin Cash protocol development through 30 April 2021.
Bitcoin ABC remains committed to achieving full funding for Bitcoin Cash development as soon as possible. Stable and sustainable funding is the primary enabler needed to make significant forward progress on the Bitcoin Cash roadmap.
Bitcoin Cash is the global leader in P2P electronic cash and we must provision the protocol development resources necessary to build a P2P electronic cash system that will reliably serve billions of daily users.
