Cool things that happens to you when you skip breakfast.
Recently I saw a tweet: A man was asked why he looked younger than his age, and he replied that unlike his mates he had stopped eating breakfast. According to him, the last time he had breakfast was in December 2019. And that was the secret to his agelessness.
That's sounds odd right? Since we all have been made to believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day since when we were kids. No doubt, for children, breakfast is the most important meal. But as one grows up, one comes to realise that we breakfast mainly out of habit than out of hunger. Wether or not we eat in the morning, we would still be hungry during the day. Infact, research have shown that people who delay breakfast tends to to be more energetic than others who are fond of consuming heavy breakfast.
The importance of fasting in the morning periods are as follows.
You become more energetic. At around 4am in the morning, the hormone glucagon helps in the breakdown of stored glycogen into glucose which is then released into the blood.
This glucose is sufficient for all your energy requirements throughout the morning. Wether you are engaging in an early morning jog, walk or gym, you'd have enough energy to see you through. That's why you don't have to eat anything before engaging in a morning drill. And if the glucose becomes depleted, the body would turn to fat cells for energy by breaking them down. Hence you lose weight and keep in shape.
Infact, if you eat immediately before an exercise, your performance would definitely drop and you get tired easily since you have increased your blood glucose levels beyond requirement . The body ain't stupid you know .
In addition , eating an heavy diet in the morning would release alot of neurochemicals like dopamine and seratonin into the blood by the brain. The individual might become quite overwhelmed as the brain is trying to manage these chemicals and digestion at the same time.
Hence, individuals who are fond of consuming heavy breakfast would tend to feel sluggish through out the day and even begin to feel sleepy when it's still morning.
Also, one who eats much during the morning would definitely crave more at noon due to the effects of over production of dopamine by the brain (the feel good chemical), and carbohydrates can be very addictive and most of the foods we eat are carbs. So, one rushes to the nearby store to get more doughnuts, pancakes, burger, pizza, biscuits and soda.... The end result is obesity that might lead to other complications in the near future.
You gain more more control of your emotions if you don't eat in the morning since hunger is an impulse and you have successfully overcome it. Hence you'd have have more control and discipline when it comes to other things, psychologically speaking. It means you wouldn't get irritated or agitated easily. Not even your boss or colleagues would be able to get you into a depressed or foul mood.
Further more, your immune system is improved because adrenaline which is anti-inflammatory are released into the blood at midnight. And since you have not eaten yet, they would have longer periods to work in the blood without interference by blocking the oxidative processes of various microbial activity, hence reinforcing the defense system of your body.
Your digestive health is also improved as you get to maintain a healthier stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas and gallbladder since they are not always under pressure like those found in other people. Maybe that's a reason why you'd maintain a younger look 😁🤣

P.S ; the write up above is not a medical advice and shouldn't be taken as such. Intermittent fasting might not be good for certain individuals and it could lead to metablollic risks like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular problems and obesity.. This is due to metablollic factors that are peculiar to the body of these individuals. Ensure you do your own research.
Actually, it doesn't really matter the time of the day when we eat, what's more important is the level of calories we are taking into our body each day.
Thanks for reading 😁💝
The keyword here is "heavy breakfast". Breakfast is fine as long as it ain't heavy. Most of the things you mentioned here doesn't apply to everyone, someone like me can't skip breakfast because I won't have energy to do anything. There was a day I skipped breakfast and proceeded to do an energy-draining task that morning, I almost collapsed.
The funny thing with things like this is that you will still see medical practitioners and scientists that provide a counterargument, they will give you good and valid reasons why you shouldn't skip breakfast, which one we go come believe like this? See one of the counterarguments below
