Sitting beside the window watching the pouring rain, I'm running out of ideas on what to write. There is a man outside lighting up a cigarette. He looks so satisfied after puffing some smoke. In my mind, a question is formed, "Why is he smoking? Why people smoke?"
Well, lets write this up.
Why do people smoke?
As humans we're creatures of habit. Some are good like doing morning exercise and some are not so good. But when it comes to changing the bad ones, it can be tough because they become so fixed even when we know some are doing us all harm and no good.
Why do you keep doing this if you know it does this to us?
Smoking, we know we shouldn't do it. Science tells us we shouldn't do it but yet it's so hard to quit. So besides the obvious addictive presence of nicotine, why is smoking so addictive and what can we do to stop it.

Family attitudes that condone smoking - young people who start smoking in their teen years frequently have siblings, parents, grandparents or any family members who smokes. The rsik that a person start smoking os often higher of one or both parents smoke.
Quitting smoking is not that easy because of what you called withdrawal syndrome. When a smokers don't have a cigarette, the brain will say where is my nicotine? I need that nicotine to function properly. So there is no fast way to quit smoking. Little by little until your smoke cravings can be stop.
Here are some ways to get past nicotine craving
1. Steer clear of triggers - if you usually smoke whlie talking on phone, try doodling or coloring instead
2. Set a timer - instead of giving in, wait 10 minutes while you find something to distract yourself
3. Chew something - busy your mouth by chewing sugarless gum or munching on raw carrots
4. Run up and down the stairs - as if you needed another reason to exercise: even a short burst can curn a craving
5. Call or surf for support - text a friend or call a quitline. Read blogs by quitters and post motivating comments
6. Discover new way to de-stress - try yoga, deep breathing, massagd or music. You might be surprised how well they work
7. Review your reason - remind yourself why you want to quit. There's no better motivation
There are different reasons why people smoke eventhough they know for themselves how can this harm their health. This reason are somewhat we can prevent if called out immediately.
Quittimg on smoking is more on self discipline. It will always start within you.
Smoking is not that easy to take away from a person system especially when he has addiction to it
