Girls and young women and particularly vulnerable to various forms of violence, which leaves deep and long term impacts on their lives, stifling their potential to grow, lead, prosper and thrive. Youth engagement and leadership is imperative for accelerating and sustaining progress on preventing and ending violence against young women and girls. Prevention must start early in life through promoting respectful relationships and transforming the social norms in which gender-based violence and discrimination is rooted. Women are more likely to be victims of abuse, but I see with concern that violence towards any living being is increasing. I see on the news children killing their parents or grandparents, grandparents raping their grandchildren, mothers killing their children because they do not want to leave their partners, teenagers abusing defenseless animals, just to name something I have read ... We must avoid violence towards any living being

Of course, strict laws should be enacted against the abuse of girls. Girls have been abused for ages.
