An Open Letter to My BFFs

Dear BFFs,

We may not be physically together most of the time, but you'll forever in my heart and mind.

We've been friends for a long time, 9 years to be exact, close to a decade of friendship. Do you still remember the times when going out from school was our favorite part of the day as a student? Do you still remember our smiles and laughters as we made our way in our respective homes? When we actually had 20-30 minutes of walking towards our home, but because we wanted to bond for a longer time, we always decided to stop by the waiting shed near the river just so we could share stories together, and it took almost 1 hour before we made our way home.

That's what our usual scenario before, from Elementary upto Junior High School days. But, we've never been scolded by our parents, why? Because they know every single one of us, and they're sure that we will never be in a bad situation. They have full trust on us as they've never thought anyone of us as bad influence to each other.

Despite how silly we are, I am proud that we've never been in a very bad situation. Even though we joke around most of the time, we never did step on other people's lives. Though, we're fond of gossiping sometimes (or let's say most of the time. lol), but all of our topics were secretly kept because there's no traitor or spy in our friendship. Honestly, I can't even remember some of our secrets before, so my promise of keeping them out from other people is always been fulfilled. HAHAHA

They said that real friendship experienced problems that will lead to some fights or what. But guess what? Until now, we never had serious fights from each other. We experienced problems but it never lead to fights. I think the only problems we had before is budgeting our money whenever we go shopping as broke students. HAHAHA.

Even if the two of you had the same crush way back Junior High School days, we never had problems with it. You even had the guts to share fantasies and never get jealous from each other maybe because each one of you had never been noticed by your crush. HAHAHA

Kidding aside, I am proud to all of you for keeping our promises together of never staining our friendship.

When we entered Senior High School, I felt sad when I transferred in other school, far from our previous school where you all stayed. But, despite pursuing a different path, you've never treated me differently, still the same as before.

And when we entered college life, everyone of us pursued different paths again. We are now studying in different institutions so we never have the chance of becoming classmates again. College life is tough so we often don't have enough time to spend time together, physically. But, I'm happy that our friendship is still strong. Despite how aloof I am in interacting in social media platform like Facebook, you never failed to mention me in your posts and stories. You never failed to share memes in our gc no matter how busy you are in your studies, though I'm also doing the same. HAHAHA

When one of us got married, and we completely spent time together again after how many years, my heart jumped in excitement and joy for seeing you again. I may not be a very showy person when it comes to my feelings, but I am always been happy to see you.

For now, I know most of you are still busy with your studies, so we don't have much time to talk even in our chat room. But, no matter what the situation is, please remember that I am always here and got your back. Always here to lean your shoulders with, and a best friend that you can always approach, whether in good and bad times.

I am always cheering and praying for your success in life. Soon, we will be spending time together again not just behind our phone's screen, but in person already. For now, I wrote this letter not just to celebrate our friendship but to keep you reminded that no matter what happens, I always got your back as your true best friend.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

We may have lose friends as time passed by, but real ones never leave. A friendship that as strong as rock that can't be easily shattered no matter what.

Let's celebrate the friendship we have with our friends, not just today, but every single day of our life.
