This is a common proverb which we all must have come across,for broad understanding of what is says I would like to explain it for us to understand the message in it,it's a state of being contented with the little you have and not looking at what others have.
Most people are not contented with the little loaf of bread they have,they feel like having the whole bakery before they are satisfied,be contented with whatever you have.
When we are greedy and always wish for everything to be ours, we would only end up loosing the little we have and be left with nothing.
Let me tell you a little story of how a greedy hunter ended up loosing what he had due to greediness and was left with nothing.
In a small town of town of Greece there lived a skilled hunter who was very good in taking down birds with his bows and arrows and do sell them in the local market to the market women.
On one of his hunting expeditions,he saw a deer from afar off and decided to set a trap for the deer so he could sell it for a higher profit and make huge gains.
He came back the next day and set the trap and headed to kill some birds but didn't find any birds in the sky,so he went back to where he set that trap and met the deer inside the trap,meanwhile the deer was not dead but pretended to be dead so he could find a perfect escape for himself.
The hunter went around looking for what to use to tie the deer and so when he came back he loosed the deers foot and was about to tie it with the rope but the sound of the birds in the sky got his attention,he was eager to get everything for himself, the deer saw that the hunter wasn't looking at his direction so it ran off to it's hideout and while the hunter was struggling to catch a bird and he couldn't get anyone he realised that he forgot to tie the deer but it was too late for his....his greediness made his loose everything he got,if he wasn't greedy the deer wouldn't have run away.
Be contented with whatever you have even if it's little just appreciate it and manage it,greediness would only let you loose everything you have and leave you with nothing,let's try to be satisfied with whatever we have.

Be contented with whatever you have and don't be jealous and look at what others have,it would bring hatred and let us loose what we've got,be contented with the little you have and hope for more to come.
Don't be like the hunter who was greedy and wanted everything to himself but at the end he was left with nothing due to his greediness.
