Differences in Opinions

Hello readers I hope you are well and healthy. Yesterday was sort of a day of little or no activity, but I had time to catch up on sleep and it was worth it. The best sleep I have had in two weeks. When I woke up, I had to go to the market with a friend to buy some things to cook dinner, and @Kushyzee decided to follow us just for sight seeing. I guess he was already tired of being in the hostel all day doing nothing at all.

At least we got to see the sea from the market, as it was so close to it and we wanted to go close for some pictures, but I told him we shouldn’t because it might be dangerous based on what we’ve been told. It was beautiful though. Looking at the sea stretched to the horizon. We got back to the institute and l had to get ready for a football match we had decided to have between the two groups of the class.

The other group players had started well though, stretching the field of play with diagonal passes and the breakthrough came when they got the first goal due to my misplaced pass. But we didn’t let that kill our morale as we kept pushing and later went on to win 7-2 in the end. Now that’s enough about how my day went. Wait, that’s pretty much all about my day.

I was reading through an article by @Freedom007 Expanding Your Thoughts and what stuck with me was the truth of how there are many ways to approach a situation. Or do I say many roads to a destination.

Oftentimes, we hold on to our view or opinion or way of doing things, and while some accept that this is not the only way to go about it, others are so self conceited to accept that there are other ways or methods. Think of a situation where two people have to go to a market, and one decides to take the bus while the other decides to take the train. They both may not get to the market at the same time, but they’ll get there eventually. Even if another person decides to walk to the market, the person will still arrive there.

All three persons have gone to the market using three different means. This is merely an analogy for better understanding of what I am trying to say. And we should remember that even as we are stuck trying to get something done, we should always remember to think from another angle. Some will say think outside the box. This hypothetical box could be the box of your personal imagination.

There have also been common saying about thinking like a thief if you want to catch a thief. All these are are similar to thinking in a different way other than what you’re used to.

CONCLUSION

While your way or method may be correct, know that someone else’s can be too, and it your opinions might intersect at a point. You should learn to accommodate them and their perception. And even though you think your method is better, remember that you two have been exposed to different experiences in life and are two different people. All these put together are responsible for the individual perception of things. After all, we can both live in the same building and have different views of the environment or street.

Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤

I'd say respect is necessary when our ideas are different from another. And true what you say, there are many angles to a situation. Just because the other person sees it differently from how we see things doesn't mean he is wrong.

This reminds me of the "6 and 9" analogy. It doesn't mean one is wrong, we just happen to see things from different perspectives

True. Although we see the same thing, we are looking at it differently

Congratulations on this win and you know there is nothing wrong with a lazy day in which we regain our activity. As for accommodating others, we must have flexibility in thinking.

Very true, people's opinions can intersect with ours at a point, we just have to accommodate them and their perception. Thanks for the article 👍
