Click if you missed THE BREAK-UP

Two weeks! Two weeks! Two weeks!

This kept ringing in Celine’s mind as she got back home the night after she had dinner with Jeff and Mr. Johnson.

She couldn’t believe her ears. Why did Mr. Johnson come back, only to add salt to her injuries?

She was already doing her best to stay away from Jeff in the meantime, so why was fate bringing them back together?

What will she do to save herself from such a tangling situation? She could have done this perfectly well with just Jeff, but now that his dad is involved what is there for her to do? How will she ever escape this?

She kept pondering on what to do that night that she slept off without having her night bath and Celine hates going to bed without having her evening shower.

She woke up the next morning to notice she still had on her the clothes she wore to Jeff’s house for dinner.

There was no point throwing a tantrum for not showering last night because she knew better not to ruin her morning with the thought of that so she let it slip this one time.

Luckily for her, it was the weekend and she had all the time for herself and that could help her come up with plan B about the so-called engagement but first, she needed to eat something cause her stomach was already crumbling.

She pulled out her dress and went to shower first before even thinking of entering the kitchen to fix breakfast for herself.

While returning from the bathroom, she got a call from her mom asking her to come and visit. She already had it in mind to visit her parents during the weekend but with the sudden happening, she totally forgot about that.

She promised her mom that she would be visiting later in the day when she finishes with whatever she was busy with.

AT CELINE'S PARENTS

Hi Mom!

Hi, my darling girl. How are you doing? I hope you brought a lot of goodies for your sweet mom.

Yeah sure! What do you have a darling daughter for?* They both giggled.

Come on, dear! Sit here.

Thank you, mom!

Let me go grab some refrigerated fruits for you, be right back

In split seconds Celine’s mind already went back to the conversation she had with Mr. Johnson the other day. She was looking sad, agitated, and confused. She didn’t notice the presence of her mom when she returned back from the kitchen.

What’s going on dear? You look disturbed, is everything okay?

Celine didn’t still notice her mom’s presence neither did she hear what her mom just said.

Celine! Celine! Come on girl, what’s up with you? Are you feeling alright?

Jez mom! You startled me.

Sorry about that my darling but why should you be startled? Is there something I should know about that you aren’t telling me?

Celine, have you lost your job? Celine’s mom asked with a bit of shock and fear.

Oh no mom, not that, I wasn’t fired or anything of that nature.

I am just….nevermind mom.

Nevermind? Are you sure you will be okay? How can you say I shouldn’t mind when something is definitely bothering my daughter.

Come on you know you can tell me anything right?

Ok, mom, the thing is Jeff…..

Yes? What is it with Jeff? Don’t tell me you two broke up, is that it?

No no, no mom, Celine retorted. Though her mom was actually right that wasn’t the reason for Celine's long face and bad mood. The breakup was a secret between both parents.

Mom, it's just that Mr. Johnson, Jeff’s dad came back this weekend.

Okay? So what happened?

He invited me to a dinner mom and then he told us he had a present for us; I and Jeff

And? What next?

Mom, can you guess what the present was?

A wedding ring?

Oh my God! Mom, how could you have guessed that right? Did Mr. Johnson inform you about this?

No, my dear, Mr. Johnson never told me anything about such but my daughter, don’t you think it's high time you both settle down? I mean you have been seeing each other for quite some time now and their family seems good to me and Jeff is a really nice and decent man, that I know very well.

Celine’s mom had so much trust in Jeff and respect for his family but little did she know that Jeff’s mom was a serpent and she, Celine wanted to teach a lesson.

She couldn’t possibly tell her mom all about how Mrs. Samantha treated her like a piece of crab.

So she rather remains silent about all of that and let her mom still give them the respect she has already had for them.

Celine wanted to make it a life mission to teach Mrs. Samantha that wealth and riches aren’t everything or all that makes a man. And this is a mission she has devoted herself to accomplish.

But now the engagement is standing in her way. She can’t get engaged to Jeff if she wanted to prove her point to Mrs. Samantha and this is exactly what was bothering and disturbing her yet she couldn’t tell her mom.

My darling girl, don’t be afraid of anything. If Mr. Johnson already deemed it fit to approach you two with this kind of conversation then I think it's time you both put it into consideration.

Mom, this is my point, it is not a matter of consideration because Mr. Johnson already told us we will be getting engaged in the next two weeks.

How can he do this to us? To me? I am not even prepared or ready.

What do you mean by that my dear?

Prepare and ready for what? What are you getting prepared for?

You are already given two weeks for your preparation and this is just an engagement for crying out loud and not the actual marriage so don’t be scared. Go get yourself ready and if there is anything I can be of help with, you know I am always just a call away and I won’t hesitate to come running right to you.

After visiting her home, Celine was almost brainwashed by her mom into accepting to get engaged to Jeff. But she suddenly snapped it off her mind, look further to her life mission, and stayed more focused.

She needed to work extra hard and smart if she wanted to become successful and accomplish her task.

To be continued...
