Mom has got her new eye glasses!
Praise God for this wonderful day! How are you, my dear hive friends?
I am very pleased to tell everyone that finally! My mom has got a new pair of eyeglasses!
Over two months ago, my mother broke her glasses and fixed them with shoe glue and spilled some on the lens. I and my sister along with her son contributed some money to buy her a new one. I event took a loan just to fulfill her needs.
But then planting on her farm was ner priority and even borrowed the money that was allocated for her glasses so she could finish planting her cassava. My mom is old but she never shows that she is weak. in fact, she refuses for us to help her, maybe she does not want to be pitied upon, but it's the love that we felt for her that is pushing us to help her.
Last week, her glasses broke again and it was teh metal frame that gave up this time. I was feeling down at that time because I cannot provide her with one. But praise God! He provided. I and my sister along with my nephew helped each other to buy her a new one. She refused at first but teh last Sunday, along with my two daughters she and my nephew went to the city.
This is what her glasses looked like when it broke. Since it was already over a year since she bought this, she cannot see small letters clearly with this.
And this is what my mother looked like with her new glasses! She looks very happy ad beautiful!
I just stole those pictures of her because she is camera shy.
Since I was not with them when it happened, I asked for pictures from my nephew and he sent them to me via messenger. Here is what happened on their lovely walk!
My mother and the girls are at an escalator. It was y second daughter's first time in going to the city because the pandemic hit the world and restricted everybody from going to crowded places.
My girls are well-behaved, and my mother loves them to come with her. they spend the majority of their time waiting at the eye clinic until it was my mother's turn.
After the eye check-up, they paid for the glasses and that's my nephew's hand holding teh eyeglass design that he wants for my mother. He sent that to my sister for approval.
I anticipated that they will be paying for almost P5,000 ($100) but the clinic that they are at has free eye check-ups and free eyeglass frames; all you have to pay for was the lens! They only paid P1,700 after the original price was deducted with a senior citizen discount of 20%. No wonder there are many customers in the clinic!
They were asked to wait for two hours for the lens to be made, the girls got hungry so they went to Jolibee! Oh, what joy Jollibee brings to children. They had rice, chicken, burgers, and fries, and juice, and my Laling could not even finish her portion.
They went back to the eye clinic, left my mother there and went to eat ice cream! good thing I added to P500($10) to their allowance earlier that day. They even brought burgers for Czak! How thoughtful!
When my mother had her eyeglasses, they headed back home on a bus.
I loved how cheap the clinic's services were. I am very glad that my mother made up her mind in going there and also brought my kids with her.
It feels so good to see my mother very happy and I know she will be living better with her new glasses with her.
This will be all for today, thank you for your time. keep safe
