Found one of the missing piece
Hello dear readers, how are you all? Its twelve midnight as of this moment and I pray that everyone is in good health and God's grace.
So I guess it was last November 2021 (yes it is, u found the picturein my gallery and too a screenshot) when I started to draw again since I left it way back in high school. Way back then, I had little to none access of the Internet or never have known someone to tutor me about it that I might improve my new found skill.
Way back in third year high school, oh my, I feel old suddenly haha; Kto12 curriculum has not been heard yet at that time. In a math subject, we were asked to draw n ang layu noh? Math tapos pina draw? But here is how math was applied: we will select our reference. Preferably a small picture of a face, then we will mark lines upon it horizontally and diagonally then on th paper where we are about to draw, we will be lay outing lines of bigger proportions. I may have shared about this in my first article that tackles about my art works but I may have said it there a different way.
I selected Angel locsin from an old Avon cosmetics brochure and drawn it. I did everything and enjoyed the process though it is not that good, I can see Angel on my work somehow. And this where my interest in drawing began.
Wel, I might ha 0ve drawn lots of drawings of nature in my younger years but those all look well, awful. Haha. I always like to draw mountains and rice paddies and a bahay kubo and clouds incorporated with birds. Oh I just remembered that I kept the art works that I did after that math project. I'll show it to all of you when I will be able to find it.
So I have drawn lots of faces already, and since I have now access to the Internet, I watched lots of videos about drawings and sketching from different artists. All of them are unique and they are all pretty good. I had my Pinterest flooded with the same topics too.
But every time I looks at my drawings I feel something was really off... I know I still have to work hard on perception and depth but that's in shading portion already. What I am talking about is that I can draw a face, well let me show you my work.
You see, the eyes looks creepy. They are so straight and that's not what eyes should be because they are slanted a little. I may have seen it in the tutorials that I watched but missed taking note about it.
I am just so glad I posted my art in noise.cash and a user replied and suggested for me to watch rapid fire art's video tutorials in YouTube. ( Thank you for suggesting it my friend thought I may have missed to take note of your user name. I hope this article will reach you).
While watching tutorials, I sketched along on my make shift sketch book made from scratch papers from my work and this time, I took down important notes. I am glad that I did it because I realised that I have been doing the eyes the wrong way because I did them straight and not slanted.
When I was scrolling in my gallery, I realised and compared my work from before and after that time. Another step for improvement, and I'm so happy about it. It feels like I found a missing piece for my art to be perfect, one less puzzle piece to perfection. Char, ambisyosa nuh? But I hope so to.
By the way, please give that sponsors above a visit by tapping thier pictures. That have interesting things to share about.
Pictures are mine.
Thanks for being with me, and please keep safe.
Goodnight.
