He is covid positive
This morning I woke up with a not so good news. Yesterday my article was about me being excited for Anthony is going home soon. But then when I woke up this morning, there was a few missed call from him. I was using my youngest fb account by the way. I can't logged in on my own account for now because their teachers updated their group chat from time to time. I also checked my oldest son for updates in his online class. Fortunately, this whole week they will be having asynchronous learning which means no online closes for the meantime. Upon checking my oldest son's phone I notice that there was some new conversation on our family gc where my son is included. About last week, my brother in law who is also working as a seafarer confirmed that he is indeed positive for covid. Now my husband also confirmed that he caught the virus as well. That could be the reason of early morning missed call I received from the other phone.
I message my husband right away, and few minutes later he called. He was already at the quarantine quarter of their ship. He told me that he is a little feverish and his antigen test came out positive. And as a part of health protocols inside their company he has to be quarantine for the next 10 days. Before it was 14 days but lately they reduced it to 10 days once your swab test turns out negative. He had actually had his 1st booster a few days ago, so I am a little confident that his symptoms won't be that bad. I told him to sleep and drink his prescribed medicine.
Just how the night changes so fast. The night before his antigen came positive, we had talked and he was all okay that night. According to him he maybe caught the virus from one of their guests who came out positive too. Before that, many of his co workers has caught the virus as well. In fact, he has been a close contact to some of them but he remained negative for the past swab tests. He was actually joking that because they drank alcohol (liquor) before the swab test that's why it always came negative. Then one time, I remember him saying that hopefully before he comes back home in the Philippines, he will experience being positive too. Oh well as the saying goes by, be careful with what you wish for, because it might come true.
Right now, he is experiencing headache and bodyache. His cough is worst too specially at night. I told him to gargle a warm water with salt so that it can somehow gives a little relief to his throat. I am actually worried because he is far away from us. I wanted to take care of him but how. I remember back in 2017 when he was also hospitalized in Thailand all alone because of appendicitis. Well its a long story so I'll tell you about it next time. I just hope he gets well in the next couple of days and can get home to us good and healthy.
Thanks for spending your time reading my post for today. I hope we can take care of ourself as we aren't safe from this omicron variant. It can easily be transmitted to anyone so do your best to do the safety protocols. Have a nice day to all.
