Hormones. They can drive one crazy if they are not in balance. Estrogen for example does. Each human, male and female, has them and they should do one good. Frequently this is not the case and strangely enough, if someone acts differently we hardly think of a hormone imbalance. Did you know the estrogen level drops fast if one is active and drastically while sporting? Did you know during pregnancy the level is a hundred times higher as usually? If you are aware of this it's hard to believe this would not affect someone.

My pregnancies were the only periods in my life I never felt cold and right after I gave birth I felt how my body collapsed literally. Cold I felt and I couldn't stop shivering for hours.

Hormones... It's not said each one of us has the same level. Many struggle their entire life with an imbalance, live in a body that doesn't feel great. If you consider all aspects which can influence the hormone balance it's hard to believe most of us still function in a normal way.
Without (enough) estrogen you are barren which is clear but there's so much more to deal with if your estrogen level is low, too low. It has consequences for your health, your mental wellbeing especially if you are a female.

No matter if you are barren or not yet the menopause starts earlier than 50+ years old. Specialists say it about ten years earlier. What we usually call the menopause is the period women suffer from hot flashes, loss of libido and heart palpitations but there is more way more. These are not the only issues they might struggle with. Insomnia, weight gain, depression, anxiety, weaker bones, dryer skin, gums issues, sleepless nights, et cetera is what most women have to deal with and... there is a percentage that will suffer till they die. It's not said it will be over one day.

Like said if it comes to the menopause it starts long before the age of 50+. It might if a woman is still able to get pregnant. The first signs can be there at the age of 30 years old or even earlier. Signs that are not noticed because the estrogen level is still "average". Average can be tricky especially if it's not known what it was before. Anticonception just like other medication can influence the test. Most doctors will not believe you if you ask if the menopause can be the reason why you feel what you feel, you lose hair, et cetera. They will say "it's stress" or "too many women blame the menopause for everything". At the time it turns out it is the menopause with those "early birds" the harm is already done.

Have you ever heard a doctor asking you if early menopause runs in your family or you are an active sports(wo)man?
There is a medication which can help you to feel better but it all comes with a price. I don't mean the costs but the side effects. Cancer is one of them.

Can we take estrogen out of our food?

The answer is no. Estrogen is made by the body, a healthy body. But what if the level is too low to feel well, to be able to function? If that's the case the only thing left is to keep the body as healthy as possible (extra intake of vitamins and minerals especially D3) and not waste what is left of the estrogen by sporting. You have to reduce your activities.

Important too is to know it's for skinny, slim people more difficult to produce estrogen.

What more can be done besides changing the lifestyle, avoid stress and keep it easy? Changing the diet and eat food that acts like estrogen, food that contains phytoestrogens is away and worth trying. This food will not change the estrogen level but you might feel way better (no need for medication) which counts too.

Diet advises are

  • Drink coffee (at least two cups a day), black or green tea.

  • Use oregano and liquorice root.

  • Consume legumes (beans, peas, etc).

  • Add soy products to your meals and

  • linseed (0.5 cups a day).

Try not to panic, stress out, and make the best out of those moments you feel good.
By the way not only women suffer from hormone imbalance so do men.

A hormone imbalance occurs when the body produces too little or too many essential hormones. These imbalances often affect sex hormones. (testosterone for men and estrogen for women). Hormone imbalances can lead to several health issues. Do not ignore them, it's important to treat them. You only have one body, one life.
