The mythical ancestor of the Friesian royal house, famous for its immeasurable treasure and wisdom. While he was still in the cradle, the gods hinted at his future wealth with one sign: a procession of ants brought grains of grain and put it in the toddler's mouth. There are several legends about him, the most famous of which is the one about "Mida's touch".

Mida owned beautiful gardens at the foot of the Macedonian mountain Bermion, in which the most fragrant roses grew, with flowers of sixty petals. One day, old Silenus, a teacher and companion of the god Dionysus, wandered into his rose garden. Mida wanted Silen to teach him wisdom, and in order to achieve that, he resorted to cunning. Knowing that Silenus often came to one spring to quench his thirst, the king poured wine into the water; when the old teacher of Dionysus got drunk and fell asleep, Mida caught him without difficulty. In the garden full of flowers, when asked by the rich king what is the greatest happiness for a man, Silen answered that it is best not to be born, and for the one who has already been born - to spend as little time as possible in this world.

Some say that Silena, who staggered from old age and wine, was captured by Frisian peasants and brought before the king. Mida, when Orpheus instructed him in the divine secrets, immediately recognized Dionysus' tutor in the old man; he hosted Silena for ten days and ten nights, and then took him to Lydia. Dionysus was so overjoyed to meet his teacher again that Midi promised to grant him one wish, whatever it was. The king of Phrygia wanted everything he touched to be turned into gold. Dionysus fulfilled his wish, but he was sad that the king did not ask for something more valuable. Overjoyed, Mida immediately began to use the acquired gift: everything he touched with his hand immediately turned into gold, even food and drink. Thus, in addition to the rich table, the king remained hungry and thirsty. The unfortunate Midas begged Dionysus to free him from the gift that brings misery. Dionysus came out to meet him this time as well and ordered him to dive into the river Pactol. When Mida did that, he lost the power to turn everything he touches into gold, but the river has since become gold-bearing.

After that event, Midas hated all pleasures and gold; he decided to retreat to the woods and live modestly, in the company of Pan. There he was struck by another accident. Pan challenged Apollo to a music competition, which was also attended by Midas. When Tmol, the god of the nearby hill, ruled that the sounds of Apollo's guitar were more beautiful than the sound of Pan's flute, Midas recklessly declared that the judgment was unjust. As punishment, donkey ears grew on the non-musical king. Mida tried in various ways to hide that shame; he covered the monstrous ears with a purple tiara cloth, but they were still noticed by the servant who was cutting his hair. The king threatened him with death if he revealed the secret. Feeling the need to tell someone after all, the servant dug a pit and whispered into it that Mida had donkey ears. Soon a reed grew in that place, which, with every gust of wind, whispered about King Mida's donkey ears and thus revealed his secret to the world.

In the oldest tradition, Midas is the son of Gordian, the mythical founder of the Phrygian state and the city of Gordian; it was later narrated that his mother was the goddess Cybele, that Mida established a cult for her and that he built her first temple in Pesinunta. The unsurpassed reaper Litiers is mentioned as Mida's son, and it was rumored that the king also had a daughter whom he married Attis.

Mida was considered the inventor of lead, lenger and syringa (shepherd's flute). From a wise and immensely rich king, he later became an example of human stupidity and greed.

Everything he touches become a gold. He sacrifice and love of daughter to love of gold. He want gold hands, I mean everything to be gold with his touch, but he realized that's curse, no blessing.
