Knowledge is perhaps one of the most important things today. The more we know about something, the better we can get to know it. Knowledge gives us competence in certain subjects.
Unfortunately, it is quite common for us to try to pretend that we know a lot about things we do not know. What we don't know is that ignorance will appear sooner or later.
Not knowing is not a mistake, a fault or a sin. We may not know, but we can learn. Obviously, no one can know everything. But everyone can increase their level of knowledge as they learn.
The biggest mistake we make is not admitting that we don't know. This is what blocks the path to learning. We think we know, we pretend we are wise. However, learning is a lifelong process. Learning is not an education that ends when we graduate from school. Regardless of our education level, status, age, position in society, we have to learn, improve ourselves and move forward.
This is adapting to change. If we stay the same while everything is changing, it will cause us to pause and regress because we resist this change.
For example, we find vaccines to combat viruses. But viruses mutate and the old vaccine is no longer effective against the mutating virus. When the virus changes, our defenses must change so that we can fight that virus.
As life goes on, new questions or problems may arise. Old answers may not be answers to new questions. We must be able to give new answers to new questions.
Perhaps the best way to learn is to have children's sense of wonder and to accept our ignorance.
Socrates said, "The only thing I know is that I know nothing, and i am no quite sure that i know that."
So I think it would be great if we had the courage and freedom to say "I don't know!" instead of getting into arguments about something we don't know much about.
Yes, discussions can be helpful sometimes, but only if it can teach both parties something. Often, arguments can turn into fights and fights into enmity. Therefore, instead of arguing about something we don't really know, putting our ego aside and accepting that we don't know will allow us to learn something new. This will open our minds to learning and help us learn new information easily. Maybe it's time for us to accept that the world is round.
Sometimes we can meet people whose ego is bigger than their knowledge. No matter how open we are, these people whose sole intention is to win the argument are afraid to admit their ignorance. No matter how rational we are, our words are meaningless to them. Because their consciousness is not controlled by logic, but by the impulses of their ego. For this reason, instead of getting into an unnecessary discussion, it would be better to leave them to their own ignorance as soon as we understand this. But I believe that sometimes small discussions can be helpful too.
In other words, accepting that we do not know about something that we do not know and trying to learn will make us gain. It should be our own choice, on a case-by-case basis, to decide what kind of discussions we can engage in and what discussions we stay away from. Maybe getting into an argument about something we don't know can help us learn new things. However, I think admitting what we don't know at the beginning helps us learn faster.
We need more mental clarity than to arrive at firm conclusions, to be biased. Some acceptance, some doubt, but a state of consciousness in awareness. Blindly believing and blindly rejecting both prevent learning and development. Being able to say "I don't know!" sets us free.

We will continue to learn until death, this is not a choice but a necessity.
