Your emotional system is like a folder or anything that serves to collect some other essential things.
This may seem like a very simple analogy, but it is true. The fact is that every time you experience some kind of emotion it will surely affect your body and it all adds up like a bunch of messages: one on top of the other, and if you don’t open any of them and just collect 1000 messages, you skip very important information or ideas needed for progress.
This is a little confusing for you… Well, that is the state that the information that your brain sends you when you start an avalanche of negative feelings, hatred, envy and break your peace with a whole series of destruction… chaos and confusion arise. What is the state of the brain, we can expect such a situation in the body because it manages the whole situation and sends confusing messages to the body, it simply raises our system to a higher level as a kind of alert.
You can hide all the emotional chaos for a while, but not for long. The psyche cannot be so easily deceived. All repressed emotions begin to revolt and create discomfort in your mind, such as bad mood, insomnia, panic attacks, anxiety…
Hidden and repressed emotions are constantly looking for a way out. Emotions are literally stuck in your body. This is because they have something called a motor component. This means that even before you can suppress or ignore them, emotions create micro activation in the muscles. And our bodies react to this process - almost instantly.
We often feel pain or tension in the part of the body that is affected by emotions, but we cannot explain it to ourselves.
This happens because the part of our brain that is responsible for emotions, the anterior cingulate cortex, is located next to the premotor cortex. And that means that when our emotion begins to be processed, a physical, bodily response is immediately created.
We know how often we feel fear somewhere in the stomach (for example, we feel anxiety in the stomach before an important event or we feel discomfort in the intestines). And how many times have we used the words "somewhere in the chest" to describe heart pain? From there, tachycardia, pain in the heart or left arm occurs. Pressure on the neck and shoulders is also usually a consequence of stress). There is even a saying: "Carry the whole burden of the world on your shoulders."
It is true that our bodies try to communicate to us, but in a specific way. If we learned to listen to him, we could prevent many diseases.
There are several scientific strategies that are very effective and can help you get rid of negative emotions. Of course, there is no universal option, but some methods are very good for most people, especially if they are used in tandem.
As a rule, no additional effort is required to determine the source of pain in the body - you can easily feel it. These can be the chest, abdomen, shoulders and more.
However, if you are unsure of the pain, do what is called a breath test. Inhale and exhale slowly, without a pause between inhalations. When you do that, you will immediately notice that there is still an unusual tension in some part of the body.
Visualize the place where you feel the pressure. In this case, you will begin to analyze what is happening, remembering some cases or previous versions of yourself. Keep a diary of what you have experienced and seen and remember that the body often speaks in metaphors, so it is not necessary to take everything literally.
The last, hardest and most important part of releasing your emotions is that you have to feel them.
Sometimes it means allowing yourself to indulge in all those emotions, and if you’re crying, crying, running, yelling. Allow yourself to relax. Allow yourself to let all those negative emotions out of your body in a simple way.
This is an experience that allows you to experience emotions, both good and bad, and not focus on any of them.
You were not born to be perfect all the time.
You weren't born to be happy all the time.
But if you work on yourself, you will become perfectly happy with your feelings and you will not endanger your health, and that was the goal.
