Rush Judgement

Good day, my friends it's time for another story to tell. Hope you like it.

It was summertime, in a remote town where only few people are settled. They knew everyone that come and go to their town, they have their grocery store, market, and some small business. Until one day a woman and her 3 children arrived.

She was from the city, she was an attractive widow with 3 children (1 boy and 2 girls). She went to that town to settle for good and to divert her mind from her loss. She wanted a place that is peaceful and quiet, she needs more time to rest and breathe fresh air. Her name is Minda, and her children are Leo he is 9, Lea she is 7, and Liza 6. The day they arrived in the town everyone was staring at them. They live in a house that simple only a few pieces of furniture are placed.

Some women were talking in the grocery store, each of them asking about Minda and why she is in town. Without knowing, Minda's neighborhood is starting to make some observations on her. Days have passed since Minda and her children moved there, she went to the market to buy their weekly food. Minda seldom goes out of her house, mostly her children are seen playing outside and going to school. Her neighbors are so curious about her and until she was the talk of the town. Minda is a poor houseworker and her children are seen everywhere in a neighbor's house sometimes eating breakfast or lunch. Minda after a short cleaning around her house rested on her sofa near the window reading books. That's what everyone says.

Minda's neighbor always talks about her, they are telling her that she is a lazy and stubborn woman because she always sits and lays down on her couch, that she always neglects her children and lets them roam around the neighborhood. Then one time or another there are men coming in and out of her house and that's another talk of the town.

But Minda didn't listen to anything that they are saying and talking. She goes to the market every week even with all of them gossiping at her back, she just continues what she is doing. In her mind she has done nothing harmful to them, she always smiles and greeted everyone she passes on the road even some didn't respond. Minda continues her life with her children, months pass and the men keep on coming in and out of her house. The gossip didn't also end, it's been a year since they arrived in that town but no one could ever dare to become her friend, until one day when Minda was at the grocery store she fainted, no matter what they did Minda won't wake up. The town doctor drive her home and treated her until she woke up.

Minda was thankful because someone helped her, she called Leo to call their family doctor and her uncle. The town doctor didn't leave Minda until her family doctor arrived. The two men arrived in the house rushing, Minda introduced them to the town doctor. This is my doctor Ramo, he is monitoring me and giving me chemo every week because I have cancer, and this is my brother Armand he is the one giving us allowance to buy food every week, and the other man who also visiting me is our family lawyer, my husband left some properties including this house.

Minda told the town doctor the reason why they moved in their town, it was her husband's ancestral house she and her husband planned to donate the land to the town to use it for the welfare of the sick, that is why the lawyer is there. She let her children play outside most of the time because Minda doesn't want them to see her suffering during her chemotherapy the kids still have a hard time coping from the loss of their father (plane crash) and now a sick mother. Minda knows that she has few time left to live she wanted her children to experience a life beyond her care, she knows that she was a protective mother to them and since they moved she let her children play around to know everyone in the neighborhood and be friendly.

When the town heard the story about Minda, the people who gossip and made up stories about her were so ashamed. They felt sorry for all the things they have said about her, and when Minda is about to buy some groceries she was surprised because her neighbors are outside holding some food and groceries for her. Minda is happy and thankful, and the whole neighborhood was there supporting her until the last day of her life. END

πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒ

We do experience this in our neighborhood, when someone is new we tend to discover who they are and where they are from. It seems a natural way because we don't want to have a neighbor who is a killer or thieves or anything that does us harm. But crossing the boundary of other people's life is not good and even more if we make up stories and gossip without knowing the truth. For some people, they are easy to judge another person just looking at its external appearance, the way they talk, the way they act for some our judgment is true but still, it's not right to judge a person the way we look at them, because we don't know the reasons behind that external face that we see.

It was always the scenario especially here in the Philippines. Filipinos love gossips. They even named "Marites" those who keeps on gossiping. It's just so sad that people are being judge because of their new presence beyond their eyes.
