Privileged to be a Woman....!!
Privilege is an idea, system, or an institution that protects and ensures the dominance of a group of people over other groups. The word privilege (noun) was first used in 1819 and its meaning has changed ever since then. It's often seen as vague and complex by many. Even now people have different ideas about what it means to be 'privileged' as a woman. We can divide it in two main categories: social privileges and female privileges
The first category includes things such as being able to dress the way you want without being judged or having access to higher education, whereas the second one includes things such as having easy access to reproductive health care services and not being stopped on the street.
Women are privileged in many ways, for example, given more opportunities than men. But there are also instances where they are not given the same opportunities as men. We should not think of this privilege as a replacement for feminist movements, but instead as a supplement to them. That is because women still face many issues that men don't have to face and this privilege can only do so much to help them overcome it.
It is no secret that being a woman brings with it a lot of privileges. There are many benefits to being a woman which could be financial, social, professional and personal and a woman is privileged to be female, smart, beautiful, rich, powerful and confident. Being a woman has its perks too - from not being discriminated against in the workplace to receiving preferential treatment in the dating sphere.
But there are some challenges that women have to face too - like balancing work and family life or discrimination at the workplace. As much as society needs to do more for women, they also need to empower themselves - by taking care of their bodies, careers and mental health.
This may not be the most politically correct topic, but it is one that's worth talking about. Women are seen as being privileged and empowered in many ways when compared to men. Women get the opportunity to break through social boundaries, to defy cultural expectations, and to make a difference in their communities. It's important for women to know their worth and never let anyone else dictate what they should or shouldn't do with their lives.
How does it feel to be a Woman in the World Today? What if you were a woman today? Would you feel like your rights were being infringed upon? Would you feel unequal because of the gender that you were born into? Do you believe that there's an imbalance in society between genders? These are all questions that we need to think about before we can say how it feels to be a woman today.
Despite the progress that has been made in gender equality, women still suffer from discrimination, sexual harassment and abuse. This needs to be tackled by society as a whole, but also by men and boys who are not part of the problem.
We often hear how the world is changing for the better for women and that it is slowly but surely becoming a more equal place. But why is the world changing for the better? The first reason why these changes have occurred because of the feminist movements of the twentieth century, which created an atmosphere where gender issues were no longer taboo. In these movements, people like Gloria Steinem, bell hooks, and Angela Davis paved a way to show how important feminism was. They demonstrated what was possible when a movement unites around its cause. The second big reason why these changes are happening is due to technology. Technology has created an environment where people can connect with others who are similar to them throughout their entire life and that has led to more acceptance about differences in gender and sexual orientation.
The world we live in has changed. We are more open about our identity and sexuality and more than ever, we are encouraged to speak up for ourselves. We have seen many historic moments in the past year where women were empowered to share their stories of sexual harassment or assault and encourage others who had experienced similar ordeals to come forward too. There are plenty of initiatives that seek to create a more equitable environment for women which could lead to a world where gender equality is finally achieved.
Yet, itβs not all smooth sailing. There is still work ahead of us before we see real changes unfold in the workplace, while people around us seem unwilling or unable to understand what women go through on a daily basis.
You are right the world has changed but the difference remains. Even today, violence and sexual incidents against women are common. This cruelty is only due to the absence of law. Women's rights should be highlighted at the global level so that women can find their place in society. But the happy thing is that social media has helped women in the society to a great extent to get their right and that is the reason why women are working in every field today. Women are more protected today than before and this is due to some good laws. I think the role of women is very important for the development of the country. And the role of women to make the society conscious is commendable. I think women are the backbone of every society!
