Good Day Guys
Let me share with you guys a quick recap regarding my day. I left the house at around 7:40 am to go to work. I thought I was going to be late but I was really lucky that the roads were clear. I timed in at around 7:54 then went to our department. While waiting for our doctor to do the rounds I was just using my phone. I also texted one of the doctors to ask what should I do with one patient. Our doctor came in at around 9:00 am and endorsed to us all the patients who should be treated.
After the endorsement, I got ready by donning all my PPE's and getting all the equipment needed to treat. I was alone while treating because it was my colleague's day off. I then went up to the first patient, I had to bring a walker with me because he was an amputee and it was his very first time to stand. He was able to stand but he said that he felt weakness on the leg that's carrying him. We also progressed to using Axillary Crutches because that's the equipment that he has. He was able to ambulate using them. I also taught him some exercises to strengthen his leg and his arms that would be used in crutch walking.
I went to the 2nd patient and I really didn't like her mood, because she was uncooperative. Me and her son were able to make her short sit but only for 10 minutes. It's difficult because you have to fully assist her by pushing her forward because she tends to lean back while sitting. Some of my other colleagues came for the feeding and she was really agitated during that time, she even threw our BP apparatus, I'm glad that it wasn't thrown to the floor. I then finished treating her.
Patient 3 was in the ICU and as soon as I went there, she thought that she won't be treated already and was about to cancel on us because I was late, but I explained to her that she isn't our only patient and understood. She suffered from a stroke and she couldn't move half of her body. But then she was able to short sit and her balance was good. I was even challenging her and she could hold her position.
I went to the next patient who was in the other ICU and treated him. I really feel so bad for him because he isn't responsive. It's difficult to stimulate him and even wake him up. I just did Range of motion exercises to preserve his joints and High backrest while monitoring his Vital signs.
Patient 5 has been having fevers lately but when I went took her temperature using a thermometer, her temperature was okay. When I was treating her she was really cooperative. She would even exercise on her own. Which was really a good thing
I went to patient 6 who was located at the other building. As soon as I got in the watcher told me to stop and let him rest because he just finished his dialysis yesterday. I couldn't do anything about it so I just left and went back to our department.
When I got to our department I doffed all the PPE's and started to charge all the patients, Our system is kinda frustrating because it wasn't charging the right charge so we contacted the people who are maintaining the program. They fixed the problem but only for one charge, which was kinda stupid because we have different charges. I wrote on all the notes and disinfected our equipment.
We then had lunch, after lunch, I updated our doctors regarding all the patients. I was really lucky that I didn't have any referrals the whole afternoon, so I was just resting.
Finally, it was 5 o clock and I rushed to go home because for some reason I was tired during that day. when I got home I disinfected then waited for dinner. Ate dinner and I was just using my computer most of the time. We also checked one of the tarantulas. This was the female tarantula that we paired with my brother. We think that it's pregnant, and we really hope so. I hope that you guys had a wonderful day!
Thanks for reading and Stay safe always!
