Cold Russia. As far back as 1883. Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov, better known as Sasha, was born on April 13 in Plakhin, a village near Moscow. He soon amazed the world with his impressive singing, but history remembers him differently.

On October 12, 1928, Doctor of Science and Major Alexander Alexandrov transcribed notes recorded during the Civil War. A Red Army choir with 12 members is established.

It is led by Alexander Alexandrov. In the years to come, they become the pride and symbol of Russia. They erased boundaries with music. They performed in war zones around the world

On June 26, 1941, the Red Army went to the front, accompanied by a song by the choir of Alexander's Holy War. The same music was heard in 2007 at NATO headquarters. They are the only Russian choir that performed at the NATO headquarters.

They have performed in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Poland, Finland, Syria and many other countries. Music is not measured by numbers, but theirs are impressive.

They sing in almost all languages of the world, including Chinese and Indian. They have 2,000 songs in their repertoire, the ensemble has 200 members, and the performances have long since stopped counting.

The choir is one of the few ensembles that has toured abroad in Soviet times. He held several hundred concerts in the USSR itself, recorded several dozen gramophone records and discs and remained an unavoidable participant in public celebrations

However, the world especially remembered one date - December 25, 2016, 5 hours and 20 minutes.

The Tu-154 plane takes off from Adler in Russia to the Hmejmim military base in Syria. The members of the choir were supposed to celebrate the New Year there with Russian soldiers. Two minutes later, he disappeared from the radar. It was the last flight for 64 members of the Aleksnadrov ensemble.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia renewed the ensemble, and they had their first performance after the accident in February. They decided that the memory of their colleagues lives on through timeless music.

In this video, the Alexandrov choir sings the song Holy War. It is a song with which they sent Soviet soldiers to the Second World War.

The Alexandrov Choir has performed in Belgrade many times on various occasions.

In honor of this choir, Alexandrov Park was opened in Belgrade in 2017.

In the video you can hear the Alexandrov choir singing the Serbian song "Far away there" in Serbian languag. This song is very important for the Serbian people. It was sung by Serbian soldiers in the First World War.In the song, the Serbian soldier mourns the homeland he had to leave and remembers the victims that the Serbian army suffered in the war.

In the last video clip, you are probably well acquainted with the Italian song "Bela cao" in their performance.

I would recommend you to listen to all thre songs because they are performed by top singers, because only such can become members of this choir.

Their soloist Sergej Putulin was not on that plane because he was coming to Belgrade. And now he often and happily performs for us on various occasions. I think they are one of the best, if not the best choir in the world.
