Is Twitter Building a Crypto Wallet?
People who are passionate about crypto are active on Twitter. You may get the latest news and updates on that platform. Now it is reported that Twitter is working on developing its own crypto wallet that enables users to deposit and withdraw cryptocurrency.
Tech blogger Jane Manchun Wong is known for disclosing the hidden secrets of social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram before official announcements. And there is no official announcement of developing a crypto wallet from Twitter.
Everything moves toward Web 3.0. Existing social media platforms do their best to stay relevant to the new environment. Last year Facebook changed its name to Meta and keeps working on its project. You can see new videos coming out on the YouTube channel Meta. They don't want to miss out on what's going to happen in the next chapter of social connection.
Now it is not all about information and communication, it is about transactions. Social media giant Twitter already introduced a cryptocurrency tipping feature, allowing its users to add NFTs (Non-fungible tokens) as profile pictures. Now they are on the way to developing their own crypto wallet prototype to support the deposit and withdrawal of cryptocurrency.
By the way, Twitter is a centralized platform. The centralized platforms will always be centralized although there might be an illusion of empowering users that feels decentralized.
Big boys used to say in the past that Bitcoin is a bubble that is about to burst. Looks like they will not make fun of themselves like that anymore. It is clear that technology will not go backward. Now people like to read, write and own, blockchain-based platforms can offer that.
In order to stay relevant in the future, there is no alternative to adopting the latest technology. We will see more development like this. It will definitely create more awareness of what's going on in crypto and blockchain.
