I don't know if you have heard about the big Coca-Cola blunder in the the mid 1980's. What basically happened was they were losing market shares to diet sodas and non soda drinks. Also lost the taste test to it's big competition Pepsi because there drink was sweeter. So they came out with the New Coke a new formula which was sweeter. Got rid of the old Coke. This caused an uproar with their consumers and they were forced to bring back the old Coke which they labeled coca-cola classic I think it was only a few months it was back. The New Coke was still around for awhile but it was discontinued some years back. In a nut shell Coca-Cola did not bother to appeal to all there customers. I wasn't a fan of coke but some who were went crazy. My father was extremely upset because he used coke to mix his drinks and hated the new Coke. I guess it shows variety is wise and it's not always good to completely get rid of a product. Sorry for the long reply after reading you brought an old memory back 🤣
