I realize now that it’s not about “kakayanin” (to be able to do difficult things) but to surrender.
There’s this Christian saying that I disagree with, it’s the “God gives the hardest battles to his toughest soldiers.”
I used to believe that too.
So it was my mantra for the longest time - “kaya ko to, kakayanin ko to” (”I got this, I can do this.”)
But what if God is asking us to surrender this hard thing? To allow Him to carry this with us?
What if our hearts aren’t meant to be toughened up but be softened by His gentle love?
What if it’s not about proving that you can do it but letting God do His thing?
What if we just claim the label of “tough soldier” because that’s what we’re used to when it’s supposed to be “child of God?” And that identity alone offers so much peace already.
