Human Resource Planning as an Important part of an Organization
This was one of my assignment last semester in the subject Human Resource Management, and I want to share with you my answers to different questions that being asked.
1. Differentiate human resource planning from manpower planning.
Human resource planning is the continuous process of systematic planning ahead to achieve optimum use of an organization's most valuable asset and quality employees. Manpower Planning is essentially the process of getting the number of qualified employees and seeking to place the right employees in the right job at the right time, so that an organisation can meet its objectives. Both of them help the companies to achieve their goals by knowing and selecting employees who have talent, skills or the competent one before deploying them to departments they fit in.
2.) “Human resource planning is becoming more and more important and complex with organizations becoming more global.”
As the business world continues to expand so does the importance and complexity of Human Resource Planning. The more the competitors enter or open a company, they will need more people to help them. So, HRM will play an important role to secure, train their employee and to find more best people
3.) How is human resource information system useful in human resource planning?
The Human Resource Information System is a system used to collect and store data on an organization's employees, like their name, address, age, salary, benefits, time and attendance, performance reviews, and more. It can be considered a smart database of employee information. It is useful in Human Resource Planning because employees' data information and performance are listed, so it will help them to respond more quickly in decision making. The HR practitioner will know more about who is the best employee to select or choose. Having this kind of technology that is easy to operate will be the best asset of an organization and help them to become successful.
4.) Discuss the steps to improve the effectiveness of human resource planning.
There are many steps to improve the effectiveness of human resource planning and all of it are very helpful. These are following;
Human resource plans should always align to the organization's goals and objectives for them not to get lost.
The support of the management and other personnel should be always present in human resource planning for them to be able to create a solid data base that will become the organization's backbone.
The time for human resource planning should be enough to settle if any circumstance arises and to finish the planning. Lastly, both quantitative and qualitative aspects of human resource plans should be stressed in a balanced manner in order to avoid conflicts between the two.
