Bitcoin Cash trying to return to Steam

The Bitcoin Cash community is using all its strength to return to the places that Bitcoin Core (BTC) ended up setting aside and one of them is Steam.

Since December 7, 2017, Steam no longer accepts Bitcoin payments. At the time, the company claimed that the network's high fees and delay in confirming transactions that were causing problems with customer service and purchasing items from the largest computer games store in the world.

“For example, transaction fees charged to the customer by the Bitcoin network have skyrocketed this year, reaching almost $ 20 per transaction last week (compared to approximately $ 0.20 when we initially activated Bitcoin).

Unfortunately, Valve has no control over the amount of the fee. These fees result in excessively high costs for purchasing games when paying with Bitcoin. High transaction rates cause even greater problems when Bitcoin itself’s value drops dramatically. ”

That year, priority fees on the Bitcoin network reached $ 55, according to data from BitcoinInfocharts. In other words, to have the transaction confirmed in the next block of the network, the user would have to pay an average of US $ 55.00.

Average USD transaction fees:

This was caused by the 1MB limit on bitcoin blocks, advocated by Blockstream, which takes advantage of the network problem to sell a proprietary blockchain and by the Bitcoin Core client development team, partially funded by Blockstream.

However, a group of developers, early adopters (like Daniel Fraga) and users concerned about the network's fees forked the project, Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

With a larger block size, BCH even rivals credit card companies. However, BCH did not have the same support infrastructure at brokerage firms and many boycotted the project.

This part of the community, very concerned with the adoption of Bitcoin, is now using every means to get Bitcoin back to Steam. Even if it's like Bitcoin Cash.

The User Jonathan Silverblood placed an order for the return of cryptocurrencies on Steam and the company responded:

“I sent a request to steam for re-enabling support for #BitcoinCash payments, and the support personell said that he would forward and that it would be a good idea to also make a post in their suggestions/ideas forum.:

In a post made in the Steam community, users seem to support the proposal, but with the proviso that the fees are not outrageous.
