Two days ago, in one of my articles, i talked about smartphones and children. Today i will be focusing on humanity as a whole, the effects modern technology has on our lives. After our first father and mother, i am talking about Adam and Eve, humans that existed after that time had always device means to to better their lives in one way or the other. Horses, donkeys, and camels where used as mean of transportation. Arrows, and spears were mainly used for war centuries ago.

Looking back from that time till now, you will see that technology has really affected every aspect of humanity. The advancement didn't just start in the 21st century, but it started in the previous centries where humans had the hunger and desire to improve its life. The only difference here is the progress it has experienced since then. Take for instance now communication, it has been made easy that someone can stay in another country and communicate with another person in a different country in few seconds. The sole aim of technology is to make humanity have a more comfortable life, but has it really fulfilled that purpose, or the other way round.

Technology makes the world look like a very small place. Technology has made it possible that through social medias, we can reach out to anybody, anywhere in the world. It has really made things easy, but dependency on it has made human loose focus, rather than getting more self-aware. It presents a basket full of diverse opportunities, but it has caused more unseen harm to us. Nowadays, we feel too lazy to engage in physical labour, or give ourselves a complete break after a busy day at work. The time we say we are resting is the time we are checking the latest trends on facebook, youtube, insta, and the rest of them. Technology has made it that some people's self-esteem is build on the number of likes and reactions the get on their profile pictures.

People no longer seek answers from Encyclopedias, but rather will always run to google since it's now the giver of every answer to every question. Now we have virtual assistant apps that helps people get through some certain task, they no longer seek cousel from other people again. The influence technology has on humanity should be put under control and not technology controlling human. It is an error to allow technology play with our minds, we really need to have control on how we depend and use some technological devices and even the internet as well. We have the power to make technology much more bebeficial and safe for humans instead of it becoming a threat to our own lives.

The diverse impacts of technology on our environment, mental health, and physical health can be so immensed if we fail to put ourselves in checks and balances. I am not saying that technology is bad, NO!!! It has benefitted humanity in so many positive ways, but keeping it under control is the key when it comes to do with life. Being aware of the cons of overusing technological gadgets will help one to escape the dangers when it comes.

Pros and Cons of the effect of technology on humanity

Pro effect

Elimination of the problems associated with communication. Communication is a huge part of our lives, i don't think some certain things will be possible now if there was no improvement in the means of communication. There will be great difficult in interactio between two entities. I have read stories of how people travel long distances just to deliver a message. Modern technology has made it possible that people can now communicate over long distances with just a press of a button. Other ways like the social medias, messaging apps, has also improved communication.

There are lots of pros of technology, though i won't talk about them in this article, maybe some other time. Lets jump to one of the cons of technology on humanity.

Con effect

Pollution. The increase in the demand for advancement in technology leads to more pollution, more work at being done in almost all the factories and mines. This eventually leads to the release of more toxic gases, greenhouse gases, etc into the atmosphere. This gases don't just vanish, but are inhaled my humans which in turn leads to chronic illness, towns are being polluted, water sources are polluted, and increase of global warming. This things if not put under control will have adverse effects on humanity to the core.

Other effects are; Some gadgets if overused may lead to lost of sight, expose the minds of young people to irrelevant stuffs, opens up more too for cyber crime to thrive in, and lack of privacy.

Final Thoughts

For quite a long time till this very moment, technology has so many great benefits to the humanity, and it has open diverse rooms for development. This are the good sides of technology. If we also look at from another angle, we will also get to see that technology has also brought numerous adverse effects on humanity. It will be a debate that will never end if we really want to find out if technology is good or bad.
