Overview

Razor is not really what you might call a good guy. It all starts when he challenges you in a street race, forcing you to put your car on the line. Razor wins your beautiful BMW and thereby becomes the most sought-after driver of the city: number one on the blacklist. As for you, you are without a car. Fortunately, not for long, it is the beautiful Mia who takes care of getting you back on the right track, even if it means challenging the fifteen members of the blacklist one after the other. We thus find ourselves evolving freely in the city of Rockport, in an exploration mode like what the second Underground had established.

Quickly, you go around the city, and the police do not take long to take an interest. It is present randomly in the neighborhoods and does not hesitate to launch after you knife between its teeth at the slightest speeding spotted. The police use much faster vehicles, sometimes up to thirty, set up roadblocks, receive the support of much heavier vehicles with a kamikaze attitude, and even a helicopter. After level four of the offences, it becomes tough not to be arrested, greatly enhancing the adrenaline provided by these chases.

Gameplay

Fans can be all the more reassured that the tuning aspect has not gone by the wayside. There are many shops and garages in the streets of the city. These first allow you to buy new vehicles among the 32 available (the majority of which are unlockable). At the same time, garages are the favorite places to modify the look, parts and performance of your favorite car. Once again, we notice a wide range of real brands, whether for the rims, tires or even hoods. The variety of elements makes it possible to give life to a lot of ideas, offering a significant number of possibilities to customize your car.

The two main single-player modes present in this Need For Speed: Most Wanted - on the one hand, the now essential career mode where you have to become the leader of the blacklist, and on the other a challenge mode composed of a good Sixty more or less long objectives to complete. The career mode is seen him mixed of races and challenges, the player having to make a name for himself in the two categories before hoping to gain a rank in the blacklist. The races are also divided into several variations. Therefore has a very substantial lifespan, which can easily reach thirty hours for the player wanting to finish it in the smallest details. However, we can regret a difficulty a bit badly dosed with very uneven races and challenges, like the police sometimes too easy to lose and present at all turns.

Conclusion

Need For Speed: Most Wanted was an enjoyable experience. As such, the title of Electronic Arts fully fulfils its role, offering an excellent lifespan and undeniable pleasure to the player who knows what to expect.

It would be the most likely next game we would recommend as most people referred to it as need for speed underground 3!
